5 Songs About Heaven
Heaven...The bible describes heaven to be a place where there is no crying, sickness, or pain. When I think of Heaven I think of hope, peace, mysterious wonder, and being in the presence of God. I also hope to see loved ones that have gone before me. With His presence and glory surrounding, we get to see our Savior, Jesus, face to face. I know that some people don't believe there is such a place, but it is where I long to go when this life is over.
I have listed some of my favorite songs about Heaven. Please, enjoy. These songs personally put me in the mode of worship and self-reflection. Enjoy.
In my Father's house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.
I Can Only Imagine - Mercy Me
I enjoy this song because it puts me in awe of the thought of being able to finally see the Lord. It will be such a wonderful experience. As I listen to the song, I "imagine" for myself what it may be like to stand before Him. Knowing how Holy He is and knowing that I would not have gotten to Heaven based off of my works, but only because of His grace, "I can only imagine" how I will respond.
Heaven - Forever Jones
Another imagery of heaven is given here. This musical family sings of Heaven as a peaceful and joyful place. In addition, listeners also can get a glimpse of the majestic atmosphere.
Un Lugar Celestial - Jaci Velasquez
Un Lugar Celestial is Spanish for "A Heavenly Place." The singer here describes heaven to be mysterious and beautiful. Then she goes on to say how we can have a little bit of Heaven here on Earth. There are moments when we can since the presence of God and Heaven's beauty.
You Hold Me Now - Hillsong
This powerful song by Hillsong reminds us of how we can look forward to Heaven being a place where all pain and tears will be no more. I get a feel for God's embrace. This is a great worship song.
I Shall Wear a Crown - Deleon Sheffield
This is actually an older song, originally by Thomas Whitfield. This song speaks of Heaven as being "home." This song reminds me that it will be a joyous day.
