Here To Hear

Have you been close and yet so far? Many lyrics around this theme are found in different kind of songs referring to diverse situations.

How could you be so close and yet so far? Hoobstank, has a song title "So Close, So Far" with these lyrics:

So close, yet so far
It’s tearing me apart
What I would do to be there with you
So close yet so far
It’s tearing me apart
What I would do to be back with you

I miss hearing your laughter
And all the little things
Forgotten what it’s like to hold you

Families listen to one another
Families listen to one another

If you are here to hear...

If we are here we hear...families first of any other relation need to understand the importance of being honest and transparent. That person in front of you sitting across the table should know what is going on.

My father (RIP) used to make us part of his experiences. He came from work telling us all kind of stories from his day. He used to talk and talk because he knew we couldn't ever know what was going on if we did not hear it.

My mother who is still alive and we are being blessed with her life, lives kind of far but close since we always call each other each day.

People need to learn to trust others and this comes by hearing what each has to say. We could apply what Romans 10:17 says:

"Consequently, faith comes from hearing the message, and the message is heard through the word of Christ."

Activities that encourage family conversations

Oh, how wonderful it is to listen and to be heard. What an amazing privilege of being part of a family, a clan, a tribe, group, people, relatives, etc., with whom we can have conversations of diverse themes.

The freedom of speech is an awesome gift. Let's wonder around some activities we can realize to promote conversations with those that are here to hear:

  1. Read together out-loud, then comment toward the lecture.
  2. Work together in art and scientific projects at home.
  3. Discuss daily international news.
  4. Promote activities with neighbors.
  5. Help others together.
  6. Plan together trips and vacations.
  7. Play in and outdoor games.
  8. Write a story together.
  9. Memorize jokes and have fun as each one shares them.
  10. Enjoy time together watching a special movie which when it ends it may be discussed.

Be creative and speak your feelings, thoughts, desires, and goals. It is wonderful to be part of somebody else. Open the doors of understanding as the skills of conversation are being developed.

Dedicate a little more of time

The song below is a very peaceful instrumental melody...try to navigate in yourself like if you are on the web and think of the ways you could help heal the feeling of somebody that with your actions makes these lyrics beat in their heart. Perhaps you could dedicate a little more of time hearing and making yourself be heard.

Blessings to all!
