Hitching a Ride On an Eagle

Updated on September 2, 2010

I had a very good month in April. I guess I got into the mood of doing some inner cleaning work with one on one coaching with Gary Eby (qlcoach) who writes in Hubpages. He offers therapy for all human issues, be it addictions, OCD, grief and more; he also offers goal oriented coaching, and with over 40 years experience, this man knows what he is doing! Since he is a social worker with a good spiritual awareness, he genuinely cared about my well being, even charged me modestly for unlimited one month email sessions.

I also hired the homeopathy services from Tatjana who sent me remedies to balance my body as I experienced menopause which created imbalances such as itching and insomnia. For the first time in decades, my insomnia has been healed! When I first took the remedies, I felt high in energy, too high, and it startled me (no there isn't any drugs in the salts); after this initial experience, the changes were subtle which led into my finally sleeping and dreaming normally.

I became aware that even if I am generally a positive person, and write about the subject, I didn't fully realize the crucial importance of practicing day to day centering and releasing patterns that suppress my joy. My practices were very sporadic, much like praying only when the need arises. The body and the mind needs daily fine tuning, so its stays in a higher state. Its very easy to sway with the ups and downs that life can give us and develop unhealthy coping mechanisms.

Not every day even for the most upbeat human being is going to be filled with sunshine; there are bills to pay, businesses to take care of, little aches here and there, disappointments, past traumas, loss of friends and loved ones through death, you know life. Yet there are also wonderful days, when the stars seem to be shining just for us, opportunities knock, and the simple blessings and pleasures in one's life opens and warms our heart.

Everyday, I fill myself with the Love-Light to start my day in a positive note. I chant my mantras, be it for healing, finances, or simply to feel connected to God. If I see myself with a pattern of fear that is not helping me, I face it and let it go. If I am facing a stressful moment, instead of sinking lower into the stress and negative behavior, I diffuse it by calming my mind and body with music and deep breathing, use a process Gary taught me, which is called the Stop and Think and nips any negative behavior in the bud; In addition, I follow recovery/healing modules which he writes about in his outstanding book, "The Eby way" where he explains how we all have a dark shadow self that challenges our well being and gives the tools to transcend this side of our nature. I also use a technique from the HeartMath institute, where I place my hand over the heart and remember a very happy moment in my life, it works for me within minutes!

It has been scientifically proved by the HearthMath researchers that remembering a positive experience brings the body into a healthy resonance, so any psychological or spiritual technique will have the same affect. The issue may still be present, but the perception and reaction shifts so there is a calm clarity of mind. When the mind is calm, we can hear God/Universe's inspiration, and sometimes the answer is to do nothing, just surrender and trust.

In the session, Gary asked me to create a space in my mind where I could turn to, when dealing with issues, and I chose a mountain where I stood facing a beautiful eagle. He concluded our empowering sessions with, "Blessings Marie. You have all the emotional recovery tools that you need now. Now hitch a ride on your eagle. And if you need my help in the future, just let me know". I feel that I can fly high or higher as an eagle at home in the sky because we all have a spirit within that responds with brillance to self love, if we but allow ourselves to trust and let go.

Thank you Gary and Tatjana you both contributed to my healing, may the work you do continue to shine!
