God is our root

Without Him we die

When we cease to read the Bible, talk with Him, obey Him we are like cut flowers. Not only does our spirit die a slow death, which many times happens without our even being aware of it, but so too does the joy of like slowly such from us like a mosquito slowly sucking blood from our body.. As well we lose our divine purpose in life and begin to question why we are here. Another penalty we pay is Gods moment by moment guidance in our daily decisions which often times leads us into unnecessary problems. Therefore, the question in our minds and hearts should not be “Why does God seems so far from me?” but rather “Why am I so far from God?”

What then you may ask is the remedy?

When you are sick you take medicine yes? Then take Gods medicine. First thing every morning listen as He speaks to you. You do this by reading the Bible or Christian daily litature like Our Daily Bread. Just as you do not woof down food but take time to enjoy it, so too read slowly so as to allow the words to digest in your spirit. Keep a voice recorder with you and record what God is speaking in your heart, then write it down. So if God is saying there is a problem in a relationship and guides you on what remedy must be taken, you have a record of it to remind yourself. Then take the action God is directing you to take.

Then just talk heart to heart with Him Oh what a friend we have in Jesus is not just a beautiful song, it is one of the most astounding truths that was ever spoken.

"It is to expect nothing, to wonder at nothing that is done to me, to feel nothing done against me. It is to be at rest when nobody praises me, and when I am blamed or despised. It is to have a blessed home in the Lord, where I can go in and shut the door, and kneel to my Father in secret, and am at peace as in a deep sea of calmness, when all around and above is trouble." Andrew Murray

As you go through out your day listen to and obey the Holy Spirit. How can you know if it is the Holy Spirit speaking to you? Always remember this: What would Jesus do.

“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.” (Galatians 5:22-23 New International Version)

As you practice this day by day you will find yourself more in harmony with God and more acute of His holy presence in your life. He will guide you, comfort you, strengthen you and when necessary reproof you. Then, you will be close to God and He close to you.

There is only one basis for really enjoying life, and that is, to walk in the way in which God leads you. Then you are prepared to find delight in all sorts of wayward incidents....When a man is drifting through life, seeking nothing outside of self-gratification, the world must become increasingly a barren and forbidding wilderness. But it is wonderful how many delights fall to the lot of him who is led by God. For such a one the clasp of a friend\'s hand, a cool drink in the heat of noon, a merry salutation from a passing traveler, a glimpse of beauty by the road, a quiet resting place at night, are all full of unspeakable pleasure. Leaves of Gold

Prayer: Jehovah Jireh (God our provider) thank you for the numerous opportunites You have graciously provided for us to find nourishment in Your divine word every day. Help us to digest this into our hearts to become more attuned to Your presence and will in our lives. I ask this in the name of Him who is our bread of life, Jesus Christ. Amen

May the sunshine of Jesus’ sweet love bless you today and every day
