THE HADITH ON FASTING

Abu Huraira related that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:

"Whoever fasts during Ramadan with faith and seeking his reward from Allah will have his past sins forgiven. Whoever prays during the nights in Ramadan with faith and seeking his reward from Allah will have his past sins forgiven. And he who passes Lailat al-Qadr in prayer with faith and seeking his reward from Allah will have his past sins forgiven" (Bukhari, Muslim).

Why do the Muslims Observe Fasting?

Why do the Muslims all over the world observe fasting in the month of Ramadan? The same is going to happen during Ramadan 2017. Observing fasting is one of the five major pillars of the religion Islam and therefore, Muslims keep fast during this month.

During fasting, they neither eat anything, nor drink from dawn to dusk. In the evening, at the time of Maghrib prayer, the fasting time ends and then they enjoy delicious feasts.

To observe fasting is a great way to worship Allah and to show your devotion to your religion. When you are keeping a fast, you are very close to Allah. Also, fasting in Ramadan creates feelings of mercy and kindness inside us for the people who are not fortunate.

Ramadan & Islam

During the month of Ramadan, the Muslims get a chance for performing intense prayer to show devotion to Allah. Also, fasting in this month is a way to encourage five prayers daily as without performing five prayers a day, there remains no value of keeping a fast.
