"Home Bible Study Is Very Important"

I think home bible study is just like home schooling, it is so important. A lot of us think that the knowledge of God and Jesus Gospel can only be taught by going to churches and synagogues. which isn't a true fact. Over a period of time with studying the word of God, I have learned that you don't have to be inside of a church to serve God or learn about his word. We can serve God in our homes as well as the churches as long as we serve him in honesty and in truth. My husband and I decided to do home study on God's sabbath which is Saturday for us. I was baptised a baptist and went to Sunday service but now I don't claim any denomination. because when Jesus come back, he's not coming for a denomination, he's coming back for the children of God. Regardless of denomination. After thoroughly reading and studying the bible I was upset to learn that Sunday wasn't God's sabbath because of that fact, I felt like the children of God had been lied too about the changing from Saturday to Sunday. I didn't think anyone had the authority to change God's sabbath but God himself and if he didn't. No one else had the right too.

My husband and I tried the Seven day Adventist church for about six months but we found out quite a few things that wasn't done accordingly. So we came to the realization that we would be better off doing bible study in our home. We also realized we didn't not have to be in any one's church to learn about the word of God and that we could actively serve him in confines of our home. So, for about five years now, every Saturday Sabbath we have had bible studying within our home. Studying the bible is an on going process with us anyway but Saturday is the day of rest that God set aside for mankind. So we try to honor that day by studying the bible, sharing with company and resting. If we have company with question, we study and pray for God help us come up with a true answer to the question. Home bible study is a blessing because you don't have to dress up or get pretty for the occasion. All we have to do is walk to the living room with our bible, say an opening prayer and the rest is up to God.

The at home bible study is good, especially for the people that doesn't get to go to church regularly. In studying from home, we're showing God that we are allotting time for his word in our home and anyone can come and join us. The more the merrier. We have some bible studying at home, but I don't think it makes a great difference. If you're getting the true bread of life. I don't know whose aware of this information but one day, we want be able to have church in the buildings because of the persecutions that will be upon the Christians. We then will have to secretly serve in the privacy of our homes, in order to be safe from persecutions. So,why not start now serving or studying the word of God in the confines of our homes. We never have to go the church to find God, because he's everywhere we are, even in our home..

2 Timothy chapter 2 -15 :Study to show yourself approve unto God. A workmen, that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the words of Truth.

No doubt intense persecution is coming to the church very soon. Since judgement begins with the church, God will see to the cleansing of His people during this persecution.

Home Bible study-yep-an absolutely necessary thing.

Excellent message. I study my Bible each morning, using at least one chapter from each testament, and a daily devotional or two. I agree with you about the Sabbath, too. Thanks for the fine word.

I am like Revlady, I read and pray in the morning and evening before I go to sleep. I have a daily read book by Joyce Myers the "Starting your Day Right and Ending Your Day Right" books. It helps get my engine started with a daily prayer, which I also look up in the Bible (if I'm not running late)

Joyce states several times in the morning book, to get out of bed telling the Lord you love him and keep the enemy at bay, because that's when he loves to attack is when you are half asleep.

Because of our work schedules my husband and I have bible readings on the weekends. Jesus never had a church so this helps me with the guilt trip that the enemy tries to lay on me about not going to church.

Wonderful Hub...Home bible school will keep you more focused on the Lord.

Following in the tradition of my mother, I read the Bible most mornings, meditate by listening to what He is telling me from the passages read, pray a prayer of thanksgiving to Him and intercession for fellow believers, and always feel empowered to deal with the pressures of the day.

Thank you for sharing your knowledge and experience and encouraging us to not neglect His Scriptures. AMEN.

      Forever His,

I try to read my bible as often as I can - but there are seasons when it just seems really hard to do so. Doing it on the Sabbath is such an obvious thing to do - yet it had never occurred to me before! Sunday is not a rest day for us - we go to church and end up feeling really tired (why? because we didn't rest the day before - on the Sabbath!!)

Thanks for this wonderfully encouraging hub. I intend to go do likewise!

Home bible study allows us to meditate on the deeper things of God. Just as we draw close to others by getting to know them and developing a relationship with them, studying God's word in "an undertone day and night" will draw us ever closer to him as well.

It's very admirable that you and your husband set aside a specific time to do this. While Wednesday nights is family bible study night in our household, I try to inculcate the knowledge of God in my girls every day.

Without this knowledge, where would we be?
