Homosexuality & the Institution of Marriage in End Times

Homosexuality & Institution of Marriage

The United States was a country built because people wanted religious freedom; hence, our forefathers made sure that church and state were separated because the Pilgrims and Separatists didn’t want the same persecution that had been seen in Europe (Kings declared religion and persecuted those that did not worship in the same way). But I don’t think that they ever envisioned that our country would turn so far from religion as it has. I know that I personally have written articles about homosexuality and marriage. I know that I personally have stated based on church and state being separate that our government should allow homosexuals to have the ability to enjoy marriage. What I have never stated though were my personal views based on religion. Homosexuality is a sin that God hates. The Bible is very clear on this:

Leviticus 20:13 (ESV) – If a man lies with a male as with a woman, both of them have omitted an abomination; they shall surely be put to death; their blood is upon them.

Romans 1:26-28 (ESV) – For this reason God gave them up to dishonorable passions. For their women exchanged natural relations for those that are contrary to nature; and the men likewise gave up natural relations with women and were consumed with passion for one another, men committing shameless acts with men and receiving in themselves the due penalty for their error. And since they did not see fit to acknowledge God, God gave them up to a debased mind to do what ought not to be done.

1 Corinthians 6:9-10 (ESV) – Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor men who practice homosexuality,

According to one website God-Voter.org, in 1987 75% of American society thought of homosexuality as a wrong doing. In 2010, over two decades later, only 44% of American society thought that still. Why is this important? The Bible has stated that one of the signs of the end days is that homosexuality will be on the rise and the institution of marriage violated.

Luke 17: 28-30 (ESV) – Likewise, just as it was in the days of Lot—they were eating and drinking, buying and selling, planting and building, but on the day when Lot went out from Sodom, fire and sulfur rained from heaven and destroyed them all – so will it be on the day when the Son of Man is revealed.

Genesis chapter 19 – The story of Lot and the two cities of Sodom and Gomorrah. What was it like to live in those cities? Sexual immorality and homosexuality was wide spread and very common and embraced. And this is what the New Testament told us would happen again in the end days before Christ’s return.

Our president is for homosexual marriage. Some states have embraced homosexual marriage. And California’s Proposition 8 is being looked at by the Supreme Court. Looking at it internationally, there are eleven countries that have legalized homosexual marriage: Argentina, Belgium, Canada, Denmark, Iceland, Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Spain, South Africa, Sweden, and some of Mexico and America.

I believe we are coming close to living like the days they lived in Sodom and Gomorrah.

Without God, we cannot say homosexuality is wrong or should not be allowed within our government. Since our government has made it clear that church and state should be separate, this is where we are at with homosexuals and others saying that they should be given equality. Am I for this? As a Christian, I am not. God clearly has stated in the Bible what He recognizes as marriage:

Adam and Eve – Genesis 2: the creation of Adam and Eve, not Adam and Steve. God made man in His own image. Man wanted a partner as he saw the animals have. Therefore, God made a woman for him; God did not make a man.

Matthew 19:4-5 (ESV) – He answered, “Have you not read that he who created them from the beginning made them male and female, and said, ‘Therefore a man shall leave his father and his mother and hold fast to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh’?”

1 Corinthians 7:2 (ESV) – But because of the temptation to sexual immorality, each man should have his own wife and each woman her own husband.

Marriage is to be only between a man and a woman who have been made husband and wife. God condemns homosexuality and sexual immorality. Just as much as it is sinful in God’s eyes to practice homosexuality, it is also sinful in His eyes to practice sexual immorality (having sex before marriage; lusting after someone; pornography; strip clubs; etc.).

Both of these things (homosexuality and sexual immorality have led to the institution of marriage has God designed it to be destroyed. I myself am guilty of being an American who has fallen short in this area for I am guilty of sexual immorality bearing a child out of wedlock.

So if you find yourself in my boat, cry out to God for forgiveness and ask for His help to get out of the sin you may be in. God is forgiving. That is why He sent His Son to the cross so that we can repent of sins such as these and be forgiven.

If you'd like to base your views of of the bible; God said all sin is treated equal. Gays aren't demons. They're people with hearts and souls and a mind that can think up extraordinarily beautiful things. Just like heterosexuals. Now, I have a question. Do you believe that you can choose who you fall in love with? From my understanding, most who oppose equal rights for marriage believe that the members of the lgbtq+ "chose the homosexual lifestyle". I repeatedly hear the words "gay agenda" coming from the same group of people. They don't want dominance over society. In fact, they just want equal rights. If you believe in traditional marriage, that's fine. But don't set out to ruin someone else's happiness because of your religious beliefs. If it's God you want, and the New Testament you're looking at, I believe there is a section or phrase that states to treat everyone with respect and as brothers. Please respect that. Thank you for reading, though I do expect this comment to get deleted or a mass of hateful replies. -M

No I do not believe two things. My point with gay marriage is that we made a political decision long ago to have church and state separate. (of course in my religious beliefs, that was a huge mistake). But we did so to allow equality and tolerance for everyone that lives here in the United States. Based on that, yes, gay marriage (whether I agree with it or not) should be given the same benefits that a regular marriage would have. Now if I discussed this just based on my belief system personally, I would vote no to gay marriage because I do believe that it is sinful. And my religious beliefs also see gaymarriage being so open now as a sign of Christ's return for His bride. So no, I am not by any means putting the two together. I am making pints based on solely law or solely Scripture. How I vote personally though is solely based on my religious beliefs. Hope this clarifies things for you.

You said based on church and state, you believe homosexuals should be allow to marry. On the contrary though, you state Biblically that homosexuality is a sin. Putting the two together, it seems as if you are FOR the promotion of sin in our country. As children of God, are we to let our opinions be governed by world structures and organizations or by the Bible? As your sister in Christ, I lovingly and firmly disagree with you and await your reply.
