How Present World Conditions Foretells The Coming Of Christ

Updated on April 29, 2015

Rise Of ISIS

The End Begins

It is not a blind faith to believe Christ’s soon return. The bible records many omens of His coming. They will occur “in diverse places.” Matt 24:7. These signs of Christ’s coming will be evident in the political, economic, scientific, and religious world, thus, making it possible for the whole of society to be aware of the earth’s closing events.

1. When the disciples came to Jesus with the question; “when shall these signs be, and of the end of the world?” (Matt 24:3), what was His answer?

Note: the disciples thought that the fall of Jerusalem and the end of the world are simultaneous events. Therefore Christ gave the conditions they should look for which would announce both of these events. We are concerned only with the events that foretell Christ’s return to earth. The signs of Christ coming will appear in the sky, on earth and in the hearts of men and women.

“And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring; men’s hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming upon the earth: for the powers of the heavens shall be shaken. And then shall they see the Son of man coming in a cloud with power and great glory.” Luke 21:25-27.

2. What three signs are to appear in the sky before the return of Jesus?

“Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken: and then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.” Matt 24: 29, 30.

Note: explore other texts such as Joel 3:15 and Revelation 6:12, 13. The period of tribulation dates from A.D. 538 until 1798 known as the Dark Ages when there was a union of church and state. There was much persecution during that time. Public persecution ceased in1773 about 25years before 1798. Why? This was brought about by the Reformation which gave the Bible and gospel to people and the opportunity for religious freedom in America.

3. When did the signs in heaven occur?

Jesus accurately predicted that “in those days, after the tribulation, the sun shall be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light.” Mark 13:24.

Note: the first sign in the sky was to transpire after the days of persecution had ended and yet “in those days” or just before 1798. May 19, 1780, the sun was darkened. This is a record of history. The same night the moon took an appearance of blood. And as predicted the great meteoric shower ever to be recorded in history was observed on the night of November 13, 1833. The heavens seemed ablaze over North America and as far as South Mexico and the island of Jamaica. Men became sober believing the Day of Judgment had arrived.

4. What were to be the conditions on the earth before Christ’s coming?

The following includes the events that must take place to precede Christ’s return;

  • Wars and rumors of wars
  • Nation rising against nation
  • Rise of false Christ’s
  • Famine and pestilences in diverse places of the earth
  • Great tribulation like never before
  • The darkening of the sun and the Blood moon

These are the major signs that Christ spoke about before He returns and to our greatest amazement, they all seem to have taken place.

In addition to the signs in the sky and o the earth, men’s heart will be fearful. “Men’s heart failing them for fear and for looking after the things which are coming on the earth.” Read Matt 24: 32-34. Let us heed Christ’s admonition to “Watch therefore: for you know not what hour your Lord will come.” Matt 24: 42.

You have listed the signs and conditions well from scripture. Let's pray that many will not just read the message but seek to understand the truth behind it all. Blessings.

Hello rapture15 and peace be with you. The prophecies of the latter-days Messiah are transmitted from many religious traditions. In Islam and Christianity, it is known as the return of Jesus. In Hinduism, it is called the Kalki Avataar of Krishna (or Vishnu some claim) in the Kali Yug (Dark times of the Anti-Christ). In Buddhism it is called the Maitreya.

We believe all these are being referred to the same latter-days Messiah, it is not Jesus himself but someone to come in his power and glory. We believe the real Jesus did not die on the cross, revived after three days and continued his mission with the lost tribes of the Israelites in Asia minor where he died an old man in Kashmir, India.

That is very true amer786, all the signs have manifested already. We are actually living in the perilous times spoken of by Paul the apostle in 2 Timothy 3: 1-5. I have carefully gone through the Bible and discovered that all have been fulfilled. In the case of Mirza Ghulam Ahmad, he declared that he was the promised Messiah. Later he claimed that he was also the likeness of Krishna, the reflection of Muhammad and that he had appeared as the spiritual representative of all previous prophets, but the promised Messiah is Jesus Christ, who came to die for the sins of man, and rose again on the third day. He said he will come again to take home those who are ready for His glorious return, which no one knows the time. I'm so glad that you stopped by to read my hub amer786, thanks!

All these signs have manifest, in Daniel 12:4 it says that prophecy will be sealed up till the time of end when knowledge will increase and man shall run to and fro-- many believe this prophecy has also been fulfilled.

I believe the prophecy of 2nd coming of Christ has also been fulfilled. This prophecy was allegorical just like Jesus explained how John the Baptist is the second coming of Elijah. We have to look at the claimants in the 19th century. One claimant is Mirza Ghulam Ahmad (pbuh), the founder of the Ahmadiyya Movement in Islam.
