How does she do it?
Read Proverbs 31:10-31
When I used to read Proverbs 31:10-31, I would become overwhelmed. I mean really? Who in her right mind could be pure and honorable and down right perfect while having al of these responsibilities? And to get up while it was still night to cook and feed her family and her maidens? I was distraught because this woman whom I truly desired to be seemed impossible for me to become.
I had been taught that the virtuous womann is pure, honorable, holy, upright. But she is more than that. The Hebrew word for virtue is "chayil" which mean strength, efficiency, wealth, army. This woman is strong, wealthy, and efficient or she wouldn't be able to get through even the first part of her day.
How does she do it? Proverbs 31:30 "A woman who fears the Lord shall be praised". To fear God means to honor Him, hear and keep His word, and submit our desires to His will for us. The fear of God is the center of her whole life. Because of her devotion to God and her obedience, she gains the wisdom needed in how she should treat her husband, family, maids, and how she deals with her business.
She strengthens her loins which are the center of her body's strength and her arms which enable her to do the hard work that she does and takes care of her family and others with. She strengthens them by exercising and taking care of herself.
God gives her the strength to do all of these things and she does all of these things to please Him.
If I make the fear of God the center of my life and do these things to please Him instead of everyone else then I am on the right path.
After reading and studying these verses, doing a word study and reading other articles related to a virtuous woman, I am no longer as overwhelmed as I once was.
