How does your vomit taste

Updated on September 19, 2012

Are you proud of your bad habits?

As a dog returns to its vomit, so fools repeat their folly.
Proverbs 26:11

Are you proud of your bad habits? Does it feel like a dog returning to his own vomit?

I have seen dogs on the farm repeatedly return to their vomit until we had to lock them in the house and wash the vomit away. It is not pretty.

Neither is repeatedly returning to destructive habits. How do you feel the morning after a hard nights boozing? How do you feel after a one night fling? How many times do you wish you could stop such destructive behavior?

It is Only through Jesus Christ those chains of pain and destruction can be broken.

It took a journey of over forty years before Jesus blessed me with smashing my destructive habit of being an alcoholic. He taught me to eat a lot of green vegetables like bok choy spinach and other greens After a regular diet of these the habit was smashed. If you have problems it might be best to seek out a good Christian councilor.

Prayer: Oh JesusRopheka (God our healer)I have an addiction I need your healing power to kick. Please help me find the help and power through Your grace to break the chains of _____(fill in the blank). Thank you for all Your powerful and gentle help. In Your wise name I pray. Amen.

May the sunshine of Jesus’ sweet love bless you today and every day.

Your title really pulled me in here today. Wow, the fact on dogs eating their vomit is disgusting, but your comparison is truly right on. We do this when we repeat our sinful habits. Thanks for sharing from your personal experience. Glad you were able to break such an addictive habit. God bless you, Teacher Joe. Great wisdom! Voted up.

Awesome hub. What a comparison, and is so true, the after effects of our bad habits do taste like vomit. And yes, only Jesus can set us free.
