How to Accept Power from God for Christians

Updated on November 25, 2012

How to have more of God's power... is that really the question?

How to have more of God's power... is it the question?

Is there a special "majic" formula that allows God's power to come into our lives?

I have heard people say "I am not good enough for God." or "I can't turn to God right now, He wouldn't want me the way I am, that would be hypocritical!"

Let me first say, God wants YOU just the way you are. There is nothing that is too bad or off limits for God. He meets you in your messed up situation, no matter how bad it seems to be, and it is HE who changes us.

It is virtually impossible to change ourselves in a way that is lasting and real. New Year's resolutions, and diets come and go. But God is always waiting.

I often tell people that God reached down into the deepest pit of muck and picked me up. He didn't stop at just picking me up, he cleaned up my life and turned it around. I was a new woman, and He was my father. My father God in Heaven.

He cared so much about ME, that He wouldn't allow me to continue in my ways.

People often confess to me that life is really hard, and they don't know why God doesn't like them, or isn't happy with them.

The truth is God loves us so much, He makes it His business to get our attention!

What seems to be a run of bad luck, or "karma" may just be God gently nudging you to look to Him for help or answers.

Are you headed down a road that you thought was right, only to find it isn't working out? Look to God, He has the answers!

If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness. 1 John 1:9

Start by simply confessing to God that you have been running on your own power, without Him, and that you need his direction. Ask for Him to meet you right where you are and to forgive you.

Ask God to come into your heart.

For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. John 3:16

Jesus came to this world to live as a man, God's only son. He lived, suffered, died and was buried.... but the story doesn't end there! He rose again in fulfillment of the prophecy of old testaments saints and is seated at the right hand of our Father in Heaven.

Trust him, believe in the one who gave life to each one of us.

Experiencing the new birth of belief in Jesus, and have eternal life!
