How to Activate the Power of God's Blessings on Your Finances

I've thought of sharing this post for over a week now and I'm glad to be finally doing it

I have seen the power of God at play in my life, most times when I wasn't even looking out for nor expecting it. God years to give us every good blessings if we both live according to His will.

It's amazing how much power and blessings the Bible holds. Sometimes, we pick up this unassuming book without knowing what great secrets it contains and how much power it has to bless and change our lives.

There is a word and promise for every situation you come across. God, the all-knowing, all-powerful, has gone ahead to take care of that situation before you even come across it.

Today, I want to share

How to activate the power of God upon your life.
How to activate the power of God upon your life.

Four Proven Ways to Activate the Power of God's Blessings

1. Pay Your Tithe

This just goes without saying. God commanded us in His word to bring a tenth of all that we earn to His store house and in turn, He will pour out His blessings on us.

Malachi 3"10 explains this better

"Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this," says the LORD Almighty, "and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that there will not be room enough to store it.(New International Version)

There's a new argument being propagated about how tithing is a propaganda to defraud innocent Christians of their sweat.

I'm amazed and saddened at people's ignorance. The Bible should be our go-to. It is God's voice to us here on earth and if He commands an action, that makes it the norm.

Like I tell my fellowship cell members,

"It doesn't matter what the money is used for. If a man of God chooses to use the money amiss, that's between Him and God and we shouldn't try to help God fight His battles. What matters is that we follow His instructions to bring a release of His blessings on us.

Paying our tithe brings a two-fold blessing into our life"

- It removes the devoured from our finances and life.
- It also brings a release of financial blessings our way.

Easy Way to Activate the Power of God

Putting God first is an age long way of bringing God's blessings upon your life.

2.Give as Much as You Can Afford

Again, God gives a blessing. However, there is a little condition attached to it.

*Give, and it will be given back to you in the same measure.*

Luke 6:38 explains it:

"Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you."(New International Version).

When we give to the less privileged acquaintances, or even friends, we loan to God and this is a debt He pays back. (Proverbs 19:17).

Making it a habit to always give, no matter how little you have is one sure way of opening the heavens over your life and finances. The man that gives to the needy lends to God and the Father never forgets a debt.

3.Honour Your Parents

A lot of people are unaware of how important parental blessings are upon our lives. The blessings (or curses) a parent pronounces upon their children have a profound effect upon their lives and carries for all lifetime.

God instituted the family unit and parents are His representatives here on earth. Honouring our parents is honouring God.

These Bible Passages Explain Further:

Honor your father and your mother, as the Lord your God commanded you, that your days may be long, and that it may go well with you in the land that the Lord your God is giving you. (Deuteronomy 5:16).

Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. “Honor your father and mother” (this is the first commandment with a promise), “that it may go well with you and that you may live long in the land.” (Ephesians 6:1-3)

When we honour our parents, we activate the blessings of long life and financial prosperity upon our lives.

Personally, when people honour and accord us respect we in turn respect them and place them a bit high in our minds. If within our capabilities, we are willing, eager even to grant any request they make, how much more a parent who loves you unconditionally.

Honouring your parents gladdens their heart and makes them want to bless you through every means necessary.

4. Put God First

This point might have come last, but it is in no way the least.

The Bible admonishes us in Mathew 6:33 to:

"But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well."

When you put God first, you will find that besides the joy and inner peace that will radiate from your life, things other people seem to spend countless hours chasing will be added to you with ease.

God will be at the background working, raising men to bless you without you being aware of this.

      @Marissa

Yes, I believe this is a ploy by the devil to keep God's children from the blessings that go with tithing. Sad, a lot fall for it.

Thanks for taking the time to read this hub and for your beautiful comment.

Just few days ago, I was having a discussion with a brother and the issue of tithes came up in the course of our discussion. I told him exactly what you said above, it was like you read my mind as I with you. Most people underrate the power and blessings that comes with paying of tithes. I absolutely love this piece. Great work!
