How to make a Mind and Body Connection

Updated on April 28, 2015

A human is branched into having a physical body and a mind.

A mind is the focal point of driving life since it is centered on the consciousness and the intelligence of an individual. This brain can impart wisdom and thus allow thy man to make the right move after she/he has made an inevitable choice. This selection will then unravel the stones on the path and show him a journey she/he can travel.

However, we spent most of our time appreciating our outer body and darned little opportunity is spent on the soul, which actually is the prime gadget and gizmo of our existence on this planet.

In this fast-paced world where time is money for most of us.

Below are some ways we could nourish our body and mind at the same time, and help make a connection to happiness, contentment, optimism, and peace of mind.

No beating yourself up. That’s not allowed. Be patient with yourself. It took you years to form the bad habits of thought that you no longer want. It will take a little
time to form new and better ones. But I promise you this: Even a slight move in this direction will bring you some peace. The more effort you apply to it, the faster you’ll find your bliss, but you’ll experience rewards immediately.”
Holly Mosier

“Your body, which is bonding millions of molecules every second, depends on transformation. Breathing and digestion harness transformation. Food and air aren’t just shuffled about but, rather, undergo the exact chemical bonding needed to keep you alive. The sugar extracted from an orange travels to the brain and fuels a thought. The emergent property in this case is the newness of the thought; no molecules in the history of the universe ever combined to produce that exact thought.”
Deepak Chopra, The Book of Secrets: Unlocking the Hidden Dimensions of Your Life

• Have sound relationships:

Man is a social animal, thus cannot exist without companionship or communication. However, there are times when a particular relationship can become ugly, unbearable, violent or abusive. Hoping that things will improve is not going to help. The nagging and shouting is hurting your mind, body, and soul. Fortunately, our planet has the population of mankind in plenty. Thus, End it, and move on. Life has more to offer than from just that one person in that particular relationship.

• Check what you ingest:

With communication, media and technology we are going global as distances are shrinking. Thus, different cuisines are at our doorstep. Making mankind even more gullible to the different flavors that tickle his nose. Being aware of the ingredients that make a particular meal is important. Keeping a tab on what goes inside your body will take you miles with regards to your health. If health is sound, mind and soul is happy. Awareness towards it will lead to long lasting happiness.

• Physical activity:

Any physical activity such as walk, run, swim, bike can uplift your spirits and give you an extra gush of oxygen to all the organs and the areas that are deprived of blood or are in pain. This will help you get a grip on all your emotions and give you ideas on how to tackle it. The result is that the mind and soul are relaxed which will give a healthy body thus, allowing an individual to think straight, and make the right decisions.

• Massages:

These are helpful for the body and soul. Do not need to go to a professional. Use your hands and massage that bruised area or the part that is giving signals of pain. You will see the difference, and that will help you make the right choices.

• Laugh a little:

Let go of anxiety, nervousness and worries by forcing yourself to expand those muscles around your lips. You will how this forced movement will actually make you laugh out loud and ease off the pain within you. Once that pain subsides, your mind can focus on the problem, and a solution will spring up!

• Show some compassion:

Life is brutal and competitive. Even though the body is trying its best to get through a particular door of opportunity, there could be a possibility of failure too. Let the mind and body align at that junction so that the brain does not spit out negativity and tear the physical self. Show compassion towards failures, and that will help the mind and body to unite in times of rain or shine.

We all have heard of meaningful proverbs such as, “Life is short. Live it up!” But seldom do we ponder over it unless our body gives in to the stress, the physical and mental pressure thus, making the aching body stationary while the mind moans from the pain and regrets of all the choices she/he could have made!

Why cry over spilled milk?

why repent then?

We have to learn to make a connection with our mind to our body. Man is an intelligent being to turn tables around by being in the moment, making the right choices and live a happy life.

      Thank you Ruchira,

yes, we need to make connections, to take care of ourselves, to be conscience, to go within and enjoy, learn, grow, in the inside and then share outside, be aware what we take in and manage consciously. Relationships are so important… I have learned to say no, and move on. I have yet to learn to let in, let come again. Though, inside, it is growing, I am learning and balance between, friends yes, problems no. I have a few great people in my life and rejoice in them, rejoice in me, learn to just be, enjoy being, simply being. It is a pleasure to read you.

I do buy in to the mind-body connection idea. Since having been diagnosed with MS, I decided to try to tune in more to my body, generating inward and outward good messaging.

In this fast paced world we never take a breather to sit and think and make a connection between the body and mind. If the whole world did this more often the world will be a better place. We have the power to think and we should use that power to make the right choices. Great write, voted up.
