Starting a christian Site

Blogging has become a common thing in recent times. Everyone can now start a blog, regardless of age, gender, education and location. This concept has become popular as it allows you to share your thoughts and ideas with the world in an easy and effective manner. Every topic is good for blogging. However, starting a Christian blog is a wise idea. While you share your thoughts and ideas with the world, you transform lives of many people in the due course.

With the rapid advancement in technology, internet has grown in leaps and bounds. Today, starting a Christian blog is a cakewalk. Purchase a domain name and a hosting package and you are done. Go to domain-name sites like GoDaddy or HostGator and search for suitable domain names. I prefer GoDaddy for domain names. For a reliable hosting package, Hostgator is a good choice. Purchase a hosting package for a year or 3, depending on your budget.

With the entrance of Wordpress into the blogging world, setting up a website or a blog has become simple and easy. HostGator offers free wordpress installation. Login to your Hostgator account and choose Wordpress as your blogging platform for your Christian blog and click on the install button. Wordpress gets installed in few minutes. Create a login name and password for your wordpress account and log in to the blog. Wordpress is the most popular blogging platform, in recent times, as it offers thousands of themes and plugins. Choose the theme you like and install that theme. Post content and images and publish your Christian blog. Enter relevant tags and publish the post in the relevant category.

Promoting your christian blog

Managing a Christian blog with wordpress is simple and easy. Wordpress offers several plugins for every blogging need. It has spam protection plugins to moderate spam comments. You can check the total number of backlinks to your blog and analyze can traffic trends. Everything can be done within the wordpress blogging platform. There are thousands of outstanding themes for wordpress blogs. If you are not happy with free themes, search online and purchase amazing themes from other vendors. Download them and install them on your Christian blog and christian forums and enjoy the splendid beauty of the blog.

With a successful Christian blog, you can empower people with powerful words from the Bible. You can send a daily verse everyday so that people who are very busy can spend time with the Lord can read the word of the Lord, while they are working in the office.

      Yes, that is easy.

      1) Login to your wordpress dashboard

      2) click on Tools ( manage in old versions)

      3) Click on Import

      4) Choose Blogger and enter your blogger site and click on import.

Wordpress imports your blog posts, tags and other stuff within a minute. However, some widgets like blogrolls or other blogger specific tabs will not be imported. You can add them manually with wordpress.

After the process is done, check your wordpress blog and see if everything is fine.

Thank you for commenting. I read your blog and great hubs. Good to know about your ministry. Regarding the traffic, I have written another hub on how to increase traffic to your site and one more hub on social bookmarking sites. You can check them in my profile.

Though I am still learning some SEO, Let me summarize things again here for you.

      On page optimization

      1) Produce unique and useful content

      2) Produce content on a regular basis

      Offpage optimization

1)Submit your blog to major search engines

      2) Submit your online directories.

      3) Submit the blog to major social bookmarking sites.

      4) Write articles on content sites like hubpages and give a link to your blog.

      5) prepare a list of 100 dofollow sites related to your niche and comment on them. Make a relevant comment and link to your blog.

      6) Share your blog link on social networking sites like facebook

      7) Go to yahoo answers, wiki answers or other similar sites and answer one question related to your niche and put your blog url there. If you can answer one good question, you would get huge traffic.

Traffic does not increase in a day. if you constantly work on these things, traffic would surely increase within quick time.
