How will you fare in the furnace.

Updated on December 12, 2012

The furnace comes.

We are all going to go through the furnace of trials. Jesus warned us and it is true.

Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything. James 1:2-4 New International Version

It is in the furnace that the dross will be separated from the gold. As metal is put in a furnace the dross is that is not gold and as the heat comes up it is separated from the gold.

So too it is with us.

When the trails of hardship like losing a job or going through marriage difficulties or during difficulties at school that is the furnace. You can bet the devil and his minions are going to be stoking that furnace full blast. Sometimes it will be as if you are in the very furnace of hell itself.

How are you going to deal with it?

If your relationship with Christ is shallow it will not take much heat to separate you from the gold.

It is only when your relationship with Christ is strong that you will be able to withstand the heat. Now the trial may last an hour, a month or maybe a year but the closer you are to Christ the more intense the fire will be stoked.

How do you endure it?

That is when only your faith can save you. No God will not come and rescue you, He didn’t Job. That will be your testing to see just how much and how strong your faith is in Christ.

At the end of it you will be exhausted and THEN Jesus will come to give you His divine healing love and strength. As a result you will be stronger in Christ and will be used for even greater things in His kingdom. Of course the ultimate reward will be in Heaven. Don’t wait for it to happen like the grasshopper, prepare for it like the ant. Read your Bible, commune with God every day. Listen to and obey Him as He allows little fires so as to build up your strength for the big one. Work in harmony with God to build your foundation on rock (Jesus) not sand (Shallow and superficial faith).

I go through small fires almost every day. They always build me up for the firestorm that comes once a year. Even though they are trying, they are less intense each time. That is because of my relationship with Christ is built upon the rock.

How is your relationship with Christ going?

Prayer: Please Jesus Pyrrand (Jesus our friend) help me build my house upon the solid rock so as to be able to withstand the waves of trial, toils and snares of life. In Your solid name I ask. Amen.

May the sunshine of Jesus’ sweet love bless you today and every day.
