I Break My Rahab

Updated on July 31, 2014

In Pieces

Because God did not promise He would pull down the walls of Jericho while the Isrealites watched from a good distance ,neither would they just sit tight in their homes probably watching movies[ like today] while He demolished Jericho for them,no He had a part for them to play, He wanted them to play it and this they did to attract His awesome presence that rocked the foundations of the once famous city.

In the bid to overcome that next hurdle which was the great and fortified walls of Jericho, Joshua sent spies to Jericho and they lodged at the house of a woman called Rahab.

Her quick understanding of the game plan gave them time and opportunity to get back to their camp without being hurt. In return, she asked that they would spare her family from the death trap at hand. The spies guaranteed her safety as long as her family remained in her home during the millitary exercise.A scarlet rope hanging on her window they insisted must identify her , without which security was not guaranteed. When the city of Jericho was being taken, Rahab and her family were rescued and led out to a place outside of the camp. Rahab later became the wife of Salmon, the great-great-grandmother of King David, and an ancestor of Jesus Today's believer's must learn from Rahab’s life

Scarlet thread On The Window.

But now who was Rahab ? ...Rahab was simply a prostitute,[harlot] a figure in the bible. , akin to the whore of Babylon, she represented wordliness and it's amuseements, fornication, adultery, materialism, fashion , false religion, murder, rape,,stealing ,lying, love of money, cheating, fighting andquerrelling,back-bitting, home breakers, marriage breakers.

In Rahab were alchoholism, smoking, drug abuse, drug pedling, fraud, child killers[abortion] child abuse, hard drugs smokers, and finally a habinger of demonic spirits. What is it that you will not find in the prostitute?, she is capable of doing anything as the spirits in her leads.

What do you mean by breaking your Rahab ?-

- Breaking your Rahab means crucifying on the cross of Calvary, all these sins if found in you, come out of prostitution of any kind and give yout life to Jesus, Take a trip to the valley of change and repentance and sin no more

How do you break your Rehab?

I repeat, come out of these vices these sins, these or that wicked acts and more listed above, they are not only causing you pains , they are also causing other people pains. Why must you live a life that is causing you and others near you pains.?

I thank God for His love for sinners, that He should consider going to “ rotten eggs” This showed how much He loves us. He does not want any to perish but have everlasting life.

Come let us reason together says the Lord, though your sins be as scarlet, they dhall be as white as snow, though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool.

Isaiah 1;18-22.

Come now, and let us reason together, saith the LORD: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool.

If ye be willing and obedient, ye shall eat the good of the land:

But if ye refuse and rebel, ye shall be devoured with the sword: for the mouth of the LORD hath spoken it.

How is the faithful city become an harlot! it was full of judgment; righteousness lodged in it; but now murderers.

Jer 2:20-21

Thy silver is become dross, thy wine mixed with water:

Thy princes are rebellious, and companions of thieves: every one loveth gifts, and followeth after rewards: they judge not the fatherless, neither doth the cause of the widow come unto them.

Rahab today is noted as a woman of faith, courage, and love.because of her timely turn around from her sinful past, she was able to save herself and all the members of her family.

You too can be the Rahab of today, Repent, Confess and Turn from your sinful past, God will forgive you and abvove all you will not only save your self but save your household and others.

Ponder Over These.

Psalm-- 89:10 Thou hast broken Rahab in pieces, as one that is slain; thou hast scattered thine enemies with thy strong arm.
Isaiah-- 51:9 Awake, awake, put on strength, O arm of the LORD; awake, as in the ancient days, in the generations of old. Art thou not it that hath cut Rahab, and wounded the dragon
Hebrew-- 11:31 By faith the harlot Rahab perished not with them that believed not, when she had received the spies with peace.
James- 2:25--- Likewise also was not Rahab the harlot justified by works, when she had received the messengers, and had sent them out another way.?

Let Us Pray.

I will sing of the mercies of the LORD for ever: with my mouth will I make known thy faithfulness to all generations. Father give me the boldness and the spirit of praise,,Let me praise you the more, in the name of Jesus.

For I have said, Mercy shall be built up for ever: thy faithfulness shalt thou establish in the very heavens. ..

I have made a covenant with my chosen, I have sworn unto David my servant, Psalm 89;1-3.

  1. Oh Lord my God, I thank you for the love you have shown to me, I thank you for the work of grace, for it was for the purpose of saving a sinner like me that Christ manifested and suffered on earth.

  1. I thank you Lord for the food I eat, the air I breath, the all you have provided to see me through whilst still on earth's surface.

  2. My heart , my soul and even my body all are testifying that you are good to us.

  1. Recieve all glory, all honour, all adoration , in the mighty name of Jesus Christ.

  2. When Jericho was finally broken into, Rahab and her family members were spared, saved and preserved for the Lord. Lord when thou comest to take your people, remember Oh Lord, remember me in the mighty name of Jesus

  1. I am a sinner like Rahab, grant me the opportunity of having a real encounter with you as Rahab had face to face encounter with you through the messengers from Israel.

  2. I thank you for your example with Rahab, forgive me as you forgave Rahab in the mighty name of Jesus.

  1. Oh Lord, the salvation you gave to Rahab irrespective of her sinful nature is a shouting testimony of your love towards sinners, I calim that love in the mighty name of Jesus.

  2. Oh Lord God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob,my Lord and my God. I come to you as a prostitute, as a harlot, give me as you forgave Rahab and used her for your glory in the mighty name of Jesus.

  3. Lord, I come to you as a fornicator and adulterer, of a truth, I don't know what Iam doing, deliver me as you delivered Rahab in the mighty name of Jesus.

  4. Jesus, I break my Rahab habit as a drunkard, I pursued alchohol from bottle to bottle but from today, I promise that I will hate the contents of “those bottles” that nearly ruined my life, in the mighty name of Jesus.

  5. My Rahab is the love of money and material things, Oh Lord , help me to break it in the mighty name of Jesus.ò

  6. I break by fire and by thunder the Rahab of lying lips , back-bitting andquerreling in the mighty name of Jesus.

  7. Jesus, I come to you as a drug addict, my case is chronic, I am addicted to all types of drugs, but now that I have located you as Rahab located you through your servants, I burn down this death trap in the mighty name of Jesus.

  8. Oh Lord God of heaven's army, you invited me to come and reason with you [Isaiah 1;18] I come to you therefore as hard drugs pedler , I sell drugs that destroy the youths of our societies, I now realise it is sin, forgive me as I break my Rahab in the mighty name of Jesus.

  9. Lord, I am here with the Rahab of Child abuse, I have abused many children in various forms, forgive me as you forgave Rahab in the mighty name of Jesus.

  10. Lord Jesus, I stand before you today as a cheat, reaping and trying to reap where I have not sown, but your grace I know, is sufficient for me, therefre I come out of the life of cheating others in the mighty name of JESUS.

  11. Worldliness and it's amusements weighs me down badly, each time I try to move to God, I stumble on worldliness and it's amuseements, that was the case of Rahab, she came out , therefore I take the bold steps necessary and I come out of the world, I back the amusements therein in the mighty name of Jesus.

  12. I come to you today as a home breaker, deliver me as you delivered Rahab in the mighty name of Jesus.

  13. Lord Jesus, I come to you as a home breaker and marriage breaker too, I have of a truth, broken many homes and marriages, I know that you died on the cross that I might be set free, set me free in deed , in the mighty name of Jesus

  14. By the power in the name and blood of Jesus, I come out of the sin of raping, I pray thee Lord that you will make the consequencies of that sin clearer to me in the mighty name of Jesus.

  15. I come to you as a cultist, dedicated servant of the devil , with covenants backing me up, but from today, I break my Rahab, I refuse to obey the alters, I refuse to obey their priests, I run into you, help me Lord.

  1. I come to you representing the word WHORE in me lies the home of almost all the sins and trespasses that bedeil the families in the world , remove this sinful tag from me and set me free , free in deed in the mighty name of Jesus

  2. Thank you father for answering my prayers, for I have prayed them in no other name than the name of my Lord Jesus Christ.

Mine enemies by His grace are your enemies, thank you for breaking them and their plans in pieces, thank you for scattering them in the mighty name of Jesus.

Psalms 89;9-10.

..Thou rulest the raging of the sea: when the waves thereof arise, thou stillest them.

Oh great Lord of heaven's army, I am sure you have stilled the waves of trouble before me, my raging sea of uncertainty, thou hast also stopped in the mighty name of Jesus.

10 ...Thou hast broken Rahab in pieces, as one that is slain; thou hast scattered thine enemies with thy strong arm.--

First of all, note that Rahab was a prostitute. She was not a Jew she was of Jericho. She did not believe in the true God. It does not matter what we have done in our lives or what we believed in the past. God will forgive us if we turn to Him from our sin and trust His Son, Jesus Christ, as our Savior. Rahab is even listed in the great hall of faith in Hebrews in the New Testament. She is also listed in the genealogy of Jesus Christ in Matthew.

Second, we can learn that we can trust God based also on whast He has done before, His Word, and his servants. Rahab told Joshua that she knew God had given the land to the Jews. She testified to the awesome power of the God we worship She knew how God had led the children of Israel through the challenging situations like the Red Sea and to defeat pagan armies. She said she was afraid of God's judgment.

We can learn that we can act on our faith and seek mercy from God, and He will respond. She harbored the Jewish spies. When Israel attacked Jericho, Rahab and those in her house were spared, because they gave the sign God told her to give. Just obey God, give the sign He commanded you to give and bring His presence down on you.
