I am going to start a new church. How about you come along. We are going to love and learn together. Contest.
So happy. Why. Toan took this. I love that little refugee. And his wife and two kids.
Our Church. What a concept? Our Lord. What an Idea.
Start a new church on line? Yes. What a concept that we can make our own church. We do not even have to get dressed up. We do not need to drive across town. A new church where everyone has the same access and position. You will not get this piece unless you follow it to the end.
About the contest -- it is in the last paragraph.
Here is the deal my squeamish friends. I love you and you love me.
You hate church. So be it. Do not get me wrong. I love to get together and preach and teach and I like the building I do it in, or outside under the big Norfolk pine. But I really do get people hating it and therefor leaving fellowship when the probably need it most.
Just let that soak in for a while.
How a bout we start our own here on HubPages. Do not worry I love Jesus. But I also love you. So I love Buddha, Cochise, the Dali Lama, even that guy Mohammed. I like stars and witches and shirts and britches. I like vegetarians and Mormons. I like Cowboys and Lawyers. Shucks I like democrats and republicans. I like flower gardens and deserts.
Them funny people, them folks who are not like me. Them funny folks who are just like me.
We will begin.
Picture this our warm little church
That nose is not an accident. I earned it fighting. That funny hair is a result of Chemotherapy.
Did you expect an Angel. Ha ha ha. No baby I have been and will be lower than you. I hope you can look at me and say, " I am better than that preacher boy" because you are. Never forget you are better than me. That you can do better than me. That you can make more of an impact than me. That I am nothing compared to you. You are an Angel soaring above clouds that I cannot reach. You are a Victor in this place and I am but a servant made mad to help you see.
This is you not me. I am only your servant in life. Let me fail and you step on my shoulders.
I do not love myself, I am sorry. But I hope you love you.
Do you love you?
Our church, will place upon me the burden to love you.
The calling of We. and Mine. We shall join our place and admit and accept each other.
Can you imagine a Eucharist on line. Hell's bell's it is spiritual not physical.
You all are going to be part of it.
Here is the first but not the first sermon.
If you are here do you hear?
Please stop and think. Perhaps I have earned your trust. Perhaps not. So hear this:
People will hurt you. Buck up. Sit on that. Think on that. Be that. You have hurt others. Others have hurt you.
What can we do? We can move forward in love. Ok that is crazy. I love you and you love me. Can you help me love X? No? What?
Let me tell you a story. And let me make sure you know this ain't about you and me.
We do not belong to ourselves. Then who do we belong to? Somebody. "Dang it bro who do we belong to?"
Not us. Not our needs but a better need. Do you get that?
So the church will not be about us. But a search for who we truly belong to.
Who be my people? these be my people
I am talking love here. Are you against that?
My boy and I picked up a rock on a big hike. We were amazed, We but it back.
What i am talking about is love. Are you?
Would it be nice to meet a few days a week and just put our practical in the spiritual.
Author's note about self deprecation and it's use.
The notion of not loving oneself or of being less than others is meant as a tool. The purpose is not meant to suggest you think you are lower than others. It is meant to let us all know what we know --- sometimes we feel that way, and yet we are still loved mightily.
Believe it or not there are people that feel that way about themselves. The use of this tool is to embrace them also and let them know that even if it were so, it would still be just fine for God.
Hey that could be the church you are thinking about
Here is the contest. Conversion into ones church or denomination or religion is normally done through some type of carrot or stick routine. I am afraid for so many it is the stick. "if you do not follow my way then you are in big trouble". Of for others it is some claim of proof. And there are some that promise the promised land.
Here is a novel concept. In our church it is only by attraction*. It is only because people want to join us for the here and now. Because we are happy and loving. And the reason that we are happy is whatever you say it is. We can talk about fire and brimstone and that is good, just like an addict speaks of hitting his bottom. But this church does not threaten or intimidate. We do not want members bringing in new folks because they scared them into our church.
Do not get me wrong if someone is scared they are more welcome than I. But it would not be our place to do the scaring.
So the contest goes like this: Whoever brings in the most joy and happiness and testimonies and sharing of love and thereby converts someone into loving others and themselves and some notion of God. Well they get a reward. And guess what that reward is going to be.
The reward is a direct and immediate feeling of peace and contentment and oneness with that person. Pretty cool huh?
*actually not novel, you can ask Bill
