I had a Dream About the Second Coming of Jesus

Do you believe in the Second Coming of Jesus?

See results

I was doing one-on-one Bible studies with a guy named Ivan. We had just completed a lesson on the prophetic dream of Nebuchadnezzar in Daniel 2: the statue made of four metals. We discussed how the rock destroying the statue represents the Rock, Jesus Christ, destroying this world and setting up His kingdom.

What a Coincidence!

At the conclusion of our study, I asked Ivan, “If Jesus were to return today, do you have the assurance of eternal life?”

He replied, “It’s funny you should ask, because last night I dreamed that Jesus returned. Bright beams of light were breaking through the dark clouds above and illuminating people all around me. They were being raptured to Heaven as they clasped their hands together and bowed their heads in prayer. I bowed my head and prayed too, but I didn’t feel anything. In frustration, I gave up. I dropped my hands to my sides and looked up. I felt lost.”

Then I asked Ivan, “Would you like me to share with you how you can have the assurance of salvation?”

He said, “Yes, please.”

We read 1 John 5:11-13:

“And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life. These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.”

Salvation Through Jesus

I continued, “The Word of God assures us that we are saved if we believe in Jesus. Have you accepted Jesus as your Lord and Savior, Ivan?”

“Yes.”

“Have you confessed all of your known sins to God, and repented from them, so that you may receive forgiveness?” (1 John 1:9; Acts 3:19)

“Yes.”

“Well then, congratulations! You have eternal life!”

Then I asked Ivan, “Now, are you ready for Jesus’ second coming? Do you have the assurance of salvation.”

“Yes I do, Greg. Thank you very much.”

Ivan looked like a heavy weight had been lifted off of his chest. We concluded that study and parted ways with a smile on our faces.

Being Led by the Word

Ivan came to learn a very important lesson that day: assurance of salvation is based not on our feelings but on the Word of God. Therefore, no matter how you feel, if you have accepted Jesus as your Lord and Savior you are saved! That is a Bible promise! You see, the devil can, and does, manipulate our feelings; but he cannot manipulate God's promises. So that is what we have to base our faith on.

Now, don’t get me wrong. This does not mean that God doesn’t give us feelings of happiness and joy when we obey Him, along with feelings of guilt and regret when we disobey Him. He most certainly does—to keep us on the path of righteousness. However, we should not completely rely on those feelings to determine our standing with God. We have to rely on the Word of God to determine our standing with Him. Because if the devil gets us to rely on our feelings to determine our standing with God, he will manipulate them, by bad circumstances or some other clever device, and cause us to doubt God.

Ivan and I discussed Jesus' return the day after he dreamed about it. He didn't feel ready for it, so I showed Him some scripture to give him an assurance of salvation. Afterwards, he felt relieved; and he learned a very important lesson: to trust the Word of God above feelings in matters of salvation.

Has God given you any dreams? I would like to hear about them in the comment box below.

All Scripture references are from the KJV Bible.

Is it possible that what your dream was about was the advent of the "other". The Holy Spirit being poured out upon all flesh? This event will not make you "Feel" different. It evolves your thinking and comprehension of those things which are considered the mysteries of the divine state. Never give up. Seek, and you shall find...stop seeking only when you are sure of what you have found. Peace

I think Ivan would be better off if you instructed him to search the scriptures to see what is Jesus' standard to enter Heaven.

If he did not get taken up by Jesus at His coming, then there must be a reason. Since Ivan did nothing new, I do not see how your assurances change anything between Ivan and Jesus.

People told Jesus they had obeyed the law from their youth. But, Jesus challenged them. "Go and give your money to the poor and follow me." The man believed he had kept the commandments.

But, by challenging the young man, who walked away because he had wealth, Jesus showed the young man actually held money above God.

It does not matter what your friend Ivan "thinks".

I believe our Father in Heaven is speaking to Ivan, showing him there is something between them, as Jesus made this clear to the young man with wealth.

I hope you will return to Ivan, and encourage him to take up the matter with the Holy Spirit, who leads us into all truth.

I am a Christian, and have loved Jesus and feared God for as long as I can remember; it was not pushed upon me either. I feel I was "born" into my beliefs. Concerning my dream: I don't know much about "Our Lady Fatima"... but the whole world was in an uproar about the coming of "Our Lady Fatima". They were all looking to the sky and focused on this "coming"... I kept saying to all who were so concerned, "No, Jesus is the ONLY WAY!" and was ignored by them. A time seemed to pass, you know how dreams are... and suddenly I realized I was at a beach somewhere, very close to the shoreline. There were about 30 others with me, but their faces were blurry. I looked out toward the horizon line of the ocean and saw Jesus walking on the water toward

... us and approached me, as I was closest to the shoreline. I hit my knees, head down in His glory. He look my arms, pulled me up, smiled at me, and kissed my forehead. I woke up. But I had never and will never have such a blissful, ecstatic, feeling in my life. SELAH!!!!!!

And Ivan had a dream from God, as a Christian he is not leaving this earth and the ones that left were the unrighteous "as it was in the days of Noah" You did not get him "saved" he was already , by his own admission a Christian.

Well do not know if I should touch on this, however God sends me many messages, he actually writes things on my desktop according to what I understand.

To make a long story short, first of all I always ask God to confirm or answer me and he does. Sometimes I am not sure of his codes so I keep asking until I am.

This one guy on utube figured out the return of Jesus to 2016. God says this day will not come until the lawlessone is revealed. Well he is about to be. (long story) anyway I asked God to please lead me to this being correct if possible.

I have asked him again to confirm, however I would like to share with you that what he led me to was a quote on pinterest and it clearly said.

"my child, listen to my instructions and you will have the key to my heart".

Then I was watching another video on the shroud of Jesus and wow they brought Jesus to life. There is a lot of controversy on that so I asked God and this is where he led me. So yes it is the real face of Jesus

and occupying themselves with myths and endless genealogies. These myths and genealogies raise a lot of questions rather than promoting God's plan, which centers in faith. 1 Timothy 1:4

I have added this "shroud of Jesus" to view on one of my hubs

the one entitled "a look into the unknown"

      Great hub

Ivan was not taken up because he IS A CHRISTIAN and God was showing him he was in good shape. All CHRISTIANS WILL BE STAYING HERE contrary to the false teaching in most of the american churches.

Rayne123 - I believe the lawless one has already been revealed. Protestants have long identified him as the papacy. As for Jesus coming back in 2016. The Bible indicates that no one knows the exact time of Jesus' return. Yet, that doesn't stop people from trying to predict it. I think there were at least 2 major failed predictions about Jesus return and the end of the world last year alone.

nope not any kind of cult follower. just Christian that believes the bible when properly translated from the original and in context

Explain to me how we have 2 places in scripture when taken in proper context clearly says (and all rapturists usually leave this part out) that it will be as it was in the days of noah -- when the flood came and TOOK THEM ALL AWAY. clearly talking about the unrighteous being removed from the earth.

      Matt 24:36-44

36 "But of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, but My Father only. 37 But as the days of Noah were, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be. 38 For as in the days before the flood, they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered the ark, 39 and did not know until the flood came and took them all away, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be. 40 Then two men will be in the field: one will be taken and the other left. 41 Two women will be grinding at the mill: one will be taken and the other left. 42 Watch therefore, for you do not know what hour your Lord is coming. 43 But know this, that if the master of the house had known what hour the thief would come, he would have watched and not allowed his house to be broken into. 44 Therefore you also be ready, for the Son of Man is coming at an hour you do not expect.

NKJV LK 17-26 says the same thing

and there are so many scriptures saying the righteous not will go anywhere but shall inherit the earth

      such as

      Ps 37:20-22

      20 But the wicked shall perish;

And the enemies of the Lord,

Like the splendor of the meadows, shall vanish.

Into smoke they shall vanish away.

21 The wicked borrows and does not repay,

But the righteous shows mercy and gives.

22 For those blessed by Him shall inherit the earth,

But those cursed by Him shall be cut off.

      NKJV

I have never found anyone , that can show me that the righteous are removed by using scripture in proper CONTEXT and you use their same arguments. Always with incomplete or scriptures twisted out of context. You cannot interpret a scripture or make a doctrine that has conflicting scripture as it all has to work together to be correct.

IT YOU have some scriptures taken complete in context that can refute what I am saying SHOW IT but do not give their old lie as It is not scriptural.

So unless you can explain away the above scriptures using complete scripture in context you are teaching a false doctrine . IT IS A LIE

If you can prove me wrong using scripture that does not conflict with another and actually says what you say it does (there are none) then i will listen otherwise I will have to say IT IS A CHURCH LIE because to prove it you have to use scripture out of context and incomplete and in a manner that conflicts with other scripture.

Oh I know that so many try to predict the coming of Jesus. I am going by my faith in the word of God and I guess the research I have done myself.

as for the lawless one , you could be right, however I think according to the order of scriptures that the evil one who God allows reign for 42 months has not been revealed. I think maybe that there are a few false prophecies.

Just my opinion and research, but the 42 months is now up.

This is only my opinion as I said. I could be wrong. We all follow what is in our hearts.

      Thank you

      Rayne

I want to warn you about following your EVIL heart in anything to do with God. If you follow your heart you will surely miss God.

You must follow the leading of the Holy Spirit , checking it against the scriptures to be sure it is the Spirit of Jesus that you are following.

Gen 6:5 Then the Lord saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every intent of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. 6 And the Lord was sorry that He had made man on the earth, and He was grieved in His heart.

Jer 17-9 "The heart is deceitful above all things,And desperately wicked; Who can know it? 10 I, the Lord, search the heart,

I test the mind, Even to give every man according to his ways,

According to the fruit of his doings.

      NKJV

Instead of concerning ourselves with revelation and when He will return, we need to be sure we are living every day as God would have us, then no matter what happens we will be safe His arms.in

for what it is worth, I do not believe that any of the current interpretations of revelation are correct. I believe that most of revelation has already taken place. I do believe that God will be revealing the true understanding of the end time things soon. But that is what I believe and since i believe that i do not teach on revelation past chapter 5. until i know more from Him.

Of course my opinion and $2,oo will get you a cup of coffee most anywhere.

Oh everyone has different opinions for sure.

I do follow God and he does lead me places for answers.

These revelations are already coming true I agree with you on that one.

However trying to figure out when he is coming is not evil, God gave codes and signs for all of us and will allow us to know when we are close in dreams/visions and so on.

I am sure God knows (like you say, in the heart and he does) that there will be many trying to figure out his coming and hes ok with that. We all want to know that.

I want to know because its fascinating and I am excited to talk with him

As you say, its just an opinion and I am going by own feelings and signs.

He does test us and I know of many being tested.

I just know where I am in life and what God is offering to me right now. I take that into perspective also.

      but thanks for the insight.

This scripture to me is revealing the lawless one and yes he may have already reigned on this earth however God says that "many" false Prophets will come and succeed.

So according to this , yes I know he tests. It also does not state to mel me that the lawless one is revealed or what I said was evil. I follow Gods word to a tee, I always ask him for an answer before I say/write anything

God also says..... he gives strong delusions so he knows who to condemn.

Trust me the only scripture I read is the bible and where God leads me to read. He talks to each and every one of us in different ways that he knows we will accept.

We all try to decode the bible in our own opinion, doesn't mean we are evil.

God knows our hearts and he knows who is evil or not, trust me, I have reasons for my opinions.

      Thanks again for the insight.

my goodness i was not calling you evil and please forgive me if i gave you that impression. I was showing you what God says ALL of our hearts are like. and that we cannot trust our heart to lead us..

i certainly did not use the genesis scripture which also showed the true heart of natural man and why we cannot trust our heart

Last night I had a vivid dream that Jesus came back to earth. What's so interesting is the picture that you have posted looks very similar to my dream. It was nighttime, and the sky was full of clouds. I remember the sky was the blackest it has ever been. Children, men, and woman were standing outside on the grass. Just like on fourth of July how people stand outside to look at fireworks, that was how the people were in my dream. Then, Jesus comes from the clouds. Where he stood, there was a bright shiny light bursting from heaven. Everyone saw him. The light seemed brighter than the sun. Everyone then yelled out, "JESUS!!' And everyone in the crowd was saying his name. Fingers were all pointed at him. I don't remember exactly seeing his face, but do I remember he looked like a king. That was my dream, I cannot wait for Jesus to return.
