I want up he sent me down

Updated on November 13, 2012

Our special time.

Every day for two months I prayed for Gods blessing for our special time in Hong Kong. I love to go to a secluded place on the Lung Mon Trail. It is in a clearing in the jungle at the top of a mountain on the trail. I love to stand under a spring fed clean waterfalls and let it clean me. Then, I sit in the clearing cross legged and close my eyes. As I deep breathe, the intoxicating fragrance of the wild flowers is very mellowing. I love to listen to the breeze as it dances through the leaves on the jungle tree’s, feel the warm sunlight envelope my whole being and become one with my surroundings. I close my eyes. Bring out my flute and play a love song in praise of Jehovah, Jesus and the Holy Spirit. When I open my eyes the tree’s are filled on one side with beautiful parrots singing in harmony with me while wild monkeys are laying in the branches on the other side mellowing out to serenade for God. An all encompassing sensation of divine joy overwhelms me so much I just lay on the grass and laugh in pure exhilaration. With the suns rays ambiance me I feel the oneness of God in every molecule of my body and it is a enveloping feeling of peace, joy and love like no other experience. That brothers and sisters is the never ending experience we will share in heaven with Jesus and the other saints.

I prayed for Gods blessing to allow me the privilege to experience this coming stay in Hong Kong for two months. Every morning, afternoon and evening I prayed.

On the first morning in Hong Kong I took the subway to the place to catch the bus. It is down a little hutong (Hutong=Alleyway. The best description of hutong is going into a maze).

After a little searching, the place was found.

There was a teenage girl on the bus that I struck up a delightful conversation with. When it was time for her stop I gave her a pen from my hometown. She was overjoyed, which made a great way to start the day.

When we were at the end of the bus route I got off in front of the park and started the climb up the mountain. I knew the sign for the Lung Mon Trail was on my left so was watching for it. After about an hours Hike I reached a dam on the trail I was on so the sign was overshot.

As I was about to turn around and go back down looking for the sign the water in a little mountain stream caught my eye and felt an urge to investigate. Upon arriving to investigate there it was very beautiful so I climbed down a seven foot ravine to take some photos.

After a few shots an urge to follow the stream towards where it empties into the lake was overpowering so sloshing down the stream I went.

On the way down a spider web was strewn across two boulders that sparkled and that drew me towards it.

After a few shots of the spider web, a boulder came to my attention that looked like an inviting chair so I sat down on it.

I was mesmerized by the serenading of the stream and breeze dancing through the tree’s. The air was fresh, cool and clean. The boulders around me glistened and it like I was enveloped in gold sphere. To complete the ambiance some tiny birds landed it the branches in the trees around me and began a merry little serenade.

I was in a heavenly vacuum. Time literally stood still. After what seemed like five minutes I decided it was time to leave and find the trail to the top of the mountain for my rendezvouswith my beloved.

While putting on my knapsack (I placed it on the shore before going into the stream to sit on the boulder. Good thing too. On the way to the boulder that looked so inviting I slipped on a moss covered rock and took a header into the stream.) I glanced at my watch. What a shock. My little time on the rock was not five minutes but three hours.

Well that shot the opportunity to go to the top of the mountain as it was too late now. So, with a broken heart it was back down the trail to the bus stop. On the way down the sign pointing to the trail seemed to stand out like a neon sign in a black sky. I had walked right past it without even seeing it.

That night back in the hostel room, I cried out to God, heartbroken because we did not spend our special time together.

Here is Gods answer to me: “You wanted to see the moneys. Didn’t you see many of them on the walk today?”

Answer: “Yes I did Lord.”

“Didn’t you hear the sweet song of the breeze dancing through the leaves in the trees? Didn’t the sweet sound of the water caressing the waters lull you into serenity? “

Answer: “Yes Lord it was a beautiful song indeed.”

“Weren’t you surrounded by golden rock that encompassed you?”

Answer: “Yes Lord, it was magical. Thank you.”

“Didn’t you slip on that rock and were immersed in the stream and come up feeling as clean as if you were under the waterfalls?”

“Yes Lord, I felt wonderfully pure.”

‘Wasn’t there little birds in the trees singing sweet melodies for you?’

"Oh, it was such sweet music.”

‘Didn’t the sunlight dancing off of the water encompass you?’

‘Oh it felt like the warmth reached into every part of my body yes Lord.’

‘Even though people were walking down the trail did anybody bother you?’

‘No Lord.’

Once some people saw me and tried to come and talk with me. The monkeys dropped out of the trees and bared their teeth in aggression so I was left alone the whole time.

“You see my child, even though I was not where you wanted to meet me, you were where I wanted to spend time with you. Why do you think you did not see the sign on the trail? Why did you feel drawn to the stream? Why did that spider web draw you towards it? Why do you think that boulder like a chair was there? Why do you think the birds were singing in those trees? Why do you think you slipped on that moss and were completely emersed in that little pool? Why do you think those monkey were in the trees and did not steal anything from you? Why do you think they prevented anyone from bothering you?’

Those monkeys are very bad for stealing everything they can if you let your guard down for one minute, yet they touched nothing of mine. I had homemade banana bread (which the monkeys would have loved to munch out on) in the knapsack.

“We did spend our special time together, just not the way you expected it.”

I could just imagine God, Jesus, the Holy Spirit and the angels laughing their lovely heads off.

Moral of the adventure: Many times God WILL answer your prayers. Just not the way you expect Him to.

“Jesus is always there, Jesus always cares .His love goes with me everywhere” Joseph- Anthony: Green

Prayer: Thank you Jesus Immanuel (God amongst us) for teaching me that it is not where our physical body is but rather where our spiritual body is with You that is important. I give thanks in Your cherished name. Amen.

May the sunshine of Jesus’ sweet love bless you today and every day.

      Good morning always exploring.

Yes I have often found beauty in unexpected places.

I live in a concrete jungle like you couldn't imagine in the west. To top it off, I don't speak the language (It may be difficult to understand but think of it like this: people in your city speak a differant language in every neighbourhood and the only time they speak to you is when they want something. That is what it is like here. So even though I can speak the offical language good enough, most people don't understand me so it is best to try to speak English.).

That is why I cherish going to Hong Kong so much. It is like going into a differant world and there is so much incredible nature there to spend special time with God.

      God bless you.
