In Dark There Is Light
We Go Through...
Exodus 20:20-25 Even in our most darkest hours, God is there. It seems like when we're in the midst of our hardest trials that we are alone, but we are not. When there seems to be more night than day, God is with us.
Moses tells the people, just as our pastor must tell the people today, "Don't be afraid." for in this darkness we will be tested. Why must we go through this when we feel like we are being swallowed by quicksand, slowly going down, and never to come up again. Why? It seems like if it's not one thing that hits us, it's another, time and time again. Through it all Father God is saying, "Trust Me!" We through the dark times that we can be saved. We learn that no matter how dark it may seem God is there and brings us through. How many of you reading this have been THROUGH situations you thought never would end right? But today you can say it's over, I came through.
Moses told the people to stand back. Stand back for their protection from our powerful God. But because of the Son, because of the selfless love of Jesus Christ we are able to come close to our Father. Because of Jesus, the only begotten Son of God, we are born into this family, our past sins are forgiven, erased by the shed blood of Jesus Christ, and in us lives God the father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. How much closer can we get? So when darkness overshadows, remember who is with you, this is a temporary situation that will be handled by divine fellowship.
It is not with our money, our positions or intelligence that breaks through our dark times, it's the sacrifice of praise, knowing who is with us, knowing who we belong to. It's like the three Hebrew boys said to the king, ...no matter what it looks like, what man may or can do, whether I live or die, I will trust in the Lord, and I will look to no other, serve no other.
God told Moses and the people to not make the alter with man cut stones. Our alter to Him is worship. It cannot be built with any hand tool we have, it comes from our heart and reaches the heart of Father God. He has put His name on us, and He will come, bless, and deliver.
