INCREDIBLE COINCIDENCE OR DEVA AT WORK? MY FINDHORN GARDEN STORY
Eileen Caddy's Daily Guidance
Guidance for 7 April
Only as you expand your consciousness are you open and receptive to the new all around you and can become attuned to new thoughts, new ideas and new ways of life. Be prepared to see beyond the immediate into higher dimensions, higher realms, and open to the ways of the Spirit. There is much you can understand and accept intuitively but at which the mind boggles, so why waste time trying to work everything out with the mind? Why not be willing to live and act intuitively and inspirationally? When you do, you are functioning from a raised state of consciousness and are receptive to the new. You become a clear channel for the new to unfold in and through you. So raise your consciousness from the negative to the positive, from the destructive to the constructive, from the darkness to the light, and from the old into the new, and see what happens. You will find the old will fall away, revealing the glorious new. Source: Findhorn Foundation Website
FINDHORN'S DIRTY LITTLE SECRET
While researching this article I discovered that Findhorn's founders were lead to Findhorn, not by God, but by aliens.
According to the , in his scathing article, Saucers Over Findhorn, Andy Roberts writes about how the founders of Findhorn were lead to the site after Eileen Caddy received a channelled message, which appeared in her inner eye, written in letters of fire: LUKANO. When the Caddy's could not make heads nor tails of the word, a medium by the name of Naomi tuned in and announced that LUKANO was the captain of a Venusian ‘mother ship’ who wanted to make contact with the Caddys. There continued to be channelled messages between Eileen Caddy and the Venusians. Fortean Times
Andy Roberts writes: For all their talk of the Community being formed by the guidance of God, one of the core beliefs held by Findhorn’s founders in the Fifties and Sixties was that flying saucers existed, and their occupants were in psychic contact...
Eileen Caddy, was awarded the MBE for ‘service to spiritual enquiry’. According to the Community’s newsletter, “Eileen chose to hand the medal to God”. What God thought of the award was not recorded but it may have been more pertinent to ask, “What did the aliens think?”
My story takes yet another odd turn when a Google search for Perelandra, the garden, lead me first to a wikipedia article about the novel, Perelandra (also titled Voyage to Venus), the first book in The Space Trilogy, by C.S. Lewis, first published in 1943.
So this begs the question: Were C.S. Lewis, Eileen Caddy and Machaelle Wright all receiving messages from aliens?
SOMEBODY IS TRYING TO TELL ME SOMETHING
Today, I was replying to fellow writer, Wizzie Crone’s remarks on my story: "The Holy Spirit: The Helper or Just a Coincidence?":
"Like many others, I believe we have spirit guides or the higher self, which I believe is what is meant by the Holy Spirit. Like Kitty, I believe this spirit is female. I believe in the godhead as father/mother. I believe there are no accidents, that everything happens for a reason. I believe we can do much more than we think we can. Heavens. This sounds like my credo. Didn't intend that. Lilleyth, your hub has inspired me. Thanks." - Wizzie Crone
I started my reply, then, as I often do, got sidetracked when I recalled another story that had happened decades ago that I wanted to tell her. I typed out a long story in my reply and then accidentally hit the wrong button and it was deleted instead of posted. Because it was such a long reply, I decided to just forget it and post a short reply thanking her for her comments.
Here is the story I had written in my reply to Wizzie that I accidentally deleted.
I’ve always been interested in fairies, devas, elves, and angels. Fellow Hubpages writer, Kittythedreamer, after looking through my garden photos, remarked that she was jealous because she saw fairies there. So I've been thinking about what I call garden devas, and actually paying more attention to what is going on in my garden. Then I remembered the Findhorn Garden and this strange coincidence that took place decades ago, when I was a young wife with two young children:
During the time I stayed at home with my small children, I spent a lot of time investigating everything paranormal, UFO's, aliens, as well as The Holy Spirit or The Helper, and other forms of spirituality which I had been doing since I discovered I was psychic around the age of 10. It was during this time of spiritual exploration that I read about The Findhorn Garden. The Findhorn Garden was created out of basically barren land beside a trailer park in Findhorn, in northern Scotland, about 40 years ago. Peter and Eileen Caddy and their colleague, Dorothy Maclean, with the assistance of nature devas and elementals, turned the sandy landscape into an incredible garden from which giant vegetables and flowers grew. The story goes that God told Eileen Caddy to move to the Findhorn Bay Caravan Mobile Home Park.
According to Dorothy Maclean, in her book To Hear the Angels Sing..."through my telepathic contact with the angelic Beings who direct plant growth, specific instructions and spiritual assistance were given. The resulting garden, which came to include even tropical varieties of plants, was so astonishing in its growth and vitality that visiting soil experts and horticulturists were unable to find any explanation for it, and eventually had to accept the unorthodox interpretation of angelic help...The devic or angelic beings work at that level where the divine image or idea is sketched out into the archetypal patterns for all forms. The devas, whose name stems from a Sanskrit word meaning literally 'shining ones,' hold these archetypes in consciousness, wielding and patterning the forces which vivify the physical form and stepping these energies down to the elementals or nature spirits, the 'blue collar workers' who build the forms through which Spirit reveals itself."
And so it was, shortly after reading the book, I visited my mother. She was complaining about her geraniums, which she had brought inside for the winter and placed among her houseplants. It was her custom to allow the plants to remain dry, in a dormant state, until early spring. Usually, by this time of year, the plants sprout new leaves and begin to break dormancy. But they were just setting there doing nothing except looking very dead and she was complaining about it. When I told her the Findhorn Garden story, suggesting she talk to her plants, without hesitation or questioning my suggestion she immediately yelled, as was her way: "I'm going to throw out those geraniums if they don't start sprouting!"
Within a few days the geraniums were covered in leaves.
As I was writing about the geraniums, I was watching a television show Angels: Good or Evil .
I look up, and on the television was Eileen Caddy, of the Findhorn Garden.
THE CHILL OF TRUTH ENGULFS ME
The "Chill of Truth" is when you get the chills when something happens to you, and it is a sign from your Spirit that what happened is significant, a sigh.
Stunned at seeing Eileen Caddy's face before me, I am covered with chills.
Notice, I said "plants". Certainly, if one plant had decided to come out of dormancy, we would say it was just luck. No, my mother had several geraniums, looking dead and dusty in their clay pots on a bench in front of her window. She didn't buy plants, she had a green thumb like me, and would acquire a plant, take cuttings, dust them with root dust, and viola' she would have dozens of new plants. That's when I started talking to my plants, and after I moved to Raleigh, studied horticulture at N.C. State, and became a Master Gardener.
Now I'm thinking about my strange mother, recalling her showing me how to make a little cap out of an acorn for the fairies...
WHAT DO YOU THINK?
I’ve always been spiritual. Perhaps, because I spent so much time as a child surrounded by acres of gardens filled with butterflies, moths, bees and wasps, I somehow attracted a few devas?
Is this just magical thinking, or is Eileen Caddy's Daily Guidance for today's date, directed at me?
Or was this just a coincidence?
The Library Angel again?
Heck if I know. But I think this is going to get a lot stranger...
UPDATE APRIL 8, 2012
Today, I began Googling Perelandra, which Sandra had reminded me of, and came across a garden blog, in which the writer, a sceptic, recounted the story behind Perelandra, and its founder, Machaelle Wright, who, like myself, was an abused child. She mentioned that abused children are often psychic, which I didn't know.
She explained how Machaelle would speak to this or that garden deva, each one assigned a specific task.
The blog writer, had a problem with, I call them camel crickets, which look like a cross between a cricket and a spider, and they jump very high. She decided to use Machaelle's technique to rid her house of the creatures.
She writes: "I put myself into a meditative state and mentally stated that I wanted to contact whoever was in charge of the insects. I didn’t see anything, hear anything, or have any awareness of any “presence.” I just talked, in my head, explaining that I didn’t want to kill them, but they scared me so much that I couldn’t tolerate having them in my condo."
She basically threatened them, telling the crickets to leave. (Similar to my mother threatening to throw out the geraniums). The next morning the crickets were gone and she hasn't see one for ten years!
UPDATE APRIL 10, 2012
This morning I decided to find a book that I have had for several years The Complete Guide to Faeries & Magical Beings. I did not know where to start looking as my library of paranormal books goes back to the 60's. But, I decided to look on a bookshelf in the spare bedroom first...and the first book saw was the book. Knowing that this was my Library Angel at work, I decided to use my technique of allowing the book to guide me and I held the 220-page book and closed my eyes for a second to calm myself. Then I opened the book, without looking, to the chapter on Nature Spirits.
Findhorn - The Findhorn Foundation is the result of the Caddy and McLean garden.
Perelandra Ltd - I learned about Perelandra after I moved to North Carolina in the 80's, shortly before Machaelle Wilson wrote about her technique of communicating with garden divas.
