If it feels right is it wrong

Updated on October 16, 2012

Who says it is right?

"Blessed is the man whom God corrects; so do not despise the discipline of the Almighty." Job 5:17, New International Version

"And you, my son Solomon, acknowledge the God of your father, and serve him with wholehearted devotion and with a willing mind, for the LORD searches every heart and understands every motive behind the thoughts. If you seek him, he will be found by
you; but if you forsake him, he will reject you forever." 1 Chronicles 28:9 New International Version

There was a saying in the sixties : If it feels good do it. In todays society it is taught we must go on feelings to determine what is right and what is wrong. By that logic it feels right to a pedophile to rape children so it is right to do so. It this right? No of course not. Because I can not see or touch God therefore He does not exist. It this true? Of course not. When you give your life to Jesus, he will open your eyes and you will see God. He will open your ears and you will feel God. He will open your mind and heart and you will be one with God.

We need to understand that the feel good practice is one of greed, do it for myself. We need to have a commitment to God and society.

No horse gets anywhere until he is harnessed. No stream or gas drives anything until it is confined. No Niagara is ever turned into light and power until it is tunneled. No life ever grows great until it is focused, dedicated, disciplined. Harry Emerson Fosdick

You want to solve many of your emotional, financial and health problems? Ask God “How does it feel to you?”

There is a way that appears to be right, but in the end it leads to death. Proverbs 14:12 New International Version

Prayer: Please Jesus Rabbi (Jesus our teacher) teach me wrong from right through You wise eyes. I ask this in You caring name. Amen.

May the sunshine of Jesus’ sweet love bless you today and every day.

Well done article teacherjoe.......Proverbs 14:12.....yes, that is a good proverb to refer to.....I did things I thought were alright, and this led to my life being in terrible chaos and I lacked joy & peace, which can only come from Jesus!...... The Lord never gave up on me.....He saved me from making a permanent mess of my life!.....Because I was not walking with Him, nothing went right....I had only terrible anxiety, fear, regret and anger at myself.....

Have you ever seen the bumper sticker that says:

      Know Jesus, Know Peace

No Jesus, No Peace............well it is spot on!

      God bless you, Helen

      Hi rgmg.

I agree. It is surprising how many times I catch myself doing that.

      God bless you.

Great hub. I agree, feels good means to me that self is put on the throne of my heart and God is removed to make place for self. Holy Spirit warns us when we are about to do a stupid thing, but it is so easy to postpone the listening to Holy Spirit because it feels good.
