If you could sit with Jesus today, what would you talk about?
Answered prayer in your life
Many people who pray to God in faith, patiently wait for the answers to their prayer, and when they don’t see what they prayed for, they believe it is not God’s will for their lives. Some people say “seeing is believing” but that is not what is taught in the bible, it is “by faith that we receive”.
This is what sets Christianity apart from a secular view on how the world works. Most only walk by sight and live in this world that is driven by Satan, and not by God. Ever wonder why the world sucks? It is because Satan has people believing in the worlds system, and not by how God designed our lives to be lived.
Reliant on God is the key to your life, especially after Jesus made the statement “I have come that they may have life, and have it more abundantly”, which kind of tells you God’s will for your life, doesn't it? One of the biggest hindrances to our faith, is that when we pray, we are to “believe that we receive”, which is a wonderful feeling, because we wait expectantly for our desires to be played out. Our faith is tested when those things that are in our heart and prayed for, don't turn up the way we thought, or never arrive at all. We then question if we understand God's will for our life, not understanding what his will is and therefore we don't believe we will have answered prayers to what we are asking for. Are we selfish, therefore God doesn't answer our prayers?
Jesus made the statement “you have not, because you ask not” sort of dispels that myth that it isn't God’s will for you to have that which you have prayed for. Is it God’s will for healing? Well, people have prayed for healing and that person never recovered, so people accept this as God’s will. However, IT IS God’s will for healing, and there are many statements made in the bible as that being his will. It is our belief that is holding us up, and that is why it is so important to search the word of God and put it in our mouth as it is given to us in the bible. Never let the devil talk you out of the promises of God, as he is a deceiver meant to confuse you.
Speaking the word of God replaces the negative and unbelief that your life is used to experiencing, with the supernatural that comes from God. Aren’t we born again after we accept Jesus as our Lord and Savior? Well, what did Jesus promise us? It is the Old Testament covenant that we are now to experience blessings and prosperity that were God’s will toward the original covenant. Most Christians never experience the supernatural blessings of God, because they really don’t understand how the word of God will impact their lives and experiences. For all the promises are yes and amen according to 2 Corinthians 1:20, which speaks volumes of what God’s will is in your life.
Understand, once you are born again, God puts these thoughts and desires into your heart and all you have to do is go to the source, the one and only, and request that which he has already said yes and amen to. But…for many of us, that sounds too good and we find ourselves in unbelief because we have experienced many years of life in the world, so it is hard for us to believe it is that simple. It isn’t that simple in reality, although God does make the statement to come to him as little children…because a child will believe anything, which is what makes faith move. However, God does make it simple for us to live and experience his blessing, and that is by his word.
When something is in your heart and it is “the desires of your heart” which is what this is all about, and you just don’t FEEL like God can make it happen, get out your bible and start searching for the word of God and what he says about your situation. If you are anxious and worried about something that may cause you harm, then read about being anxious and what God says about protecting you. THEN, write this down and keep saying the word of God until it reaches deep down into your heart. See, the Word will reprogram your thinking into what is right and acceptable to God, and you will be speaking his thoughts and will into your life, until you ABSOLUTELY believe it.
Once you have it in your heart that which you believe, your faith will follow along with your prayer, knowing the outcome with patience. Looking at Jesus life, he was a human that walked with the power of God, but he was limited to the human form while on this earth. But look at some of the miracles that were performed immediately, because they were needed at this moment.
Consider Jesus first miracle with the turning water into wine while at the wedding feast. Jesus could have simply said “the party is over, wine is not a necessity” or, “maybe next week we can get this water to taste like wine”, but what did he do? He managed to immediately turn the water into wine, and it was the best wine for the event. I know there is more to the story and why this event was recorded, but I think you get the point. If not, consider the feeding of 5,000 from 5 loaves of bread. Jesus could have assumed that although the people were hungry, they came knowing the would have to figure out how to feed themselves, but Jesus told the disciples to get 5 fishes and 5 loaves of bread to feed 5,000 people! And he did it right now!
But we also have to understand that patience is part of building our faith and reliance on God. Once you know his will and confess it with your mouth and it becomes settled into your heart, you will have what you say. Remember the story of the fig tree, when Jesus made the statement “if you have faith and do not doubt, you can say to this mountain – be removed!” is what talking to the problem is all about. These are keys to the Bible that many people ignore…and wonder why their prayer isn’t being answered, so God does what he wants and we don’t have anything to do with that but suffer. Think about that, didn't the Israelites wonder around the desert for 40 years…when the promise land was given to them? Why? They complained and they didn't believe God could do it.
If you don't have your prayers being answered, you need to spend more time with the Lord and understand your position and relationship with accepting Jesus as your Lord and Savior. First, make sure you have that desire in your heart, and that it is something pure and lovely. Know the scripture that speaks to your heart regarding this desire, and repeat it out loud over and over - speak to that mountain. Get that thought of God's will in your heart, because that is the way God moves and changes events and situations for you to have a fruitful and successful life.
