Steve is an article writer for so many years and he has a wide experience in Bible History even if he is not a Theology major degree.

Introduction to Inductive Bible Study

The content of my article is classified as heavy content because my composition is totally detailed and fully complete. It can be revised anytime as long as updated and to prevent left behind scenario.

There is a possibility that my article can be converted into a book because it will be classified as chapter by chapter whoever reads it even if I am residing here in the Philippines which is located in Southeast Asia. Even if I am not a Pastor, the most interesting here is to know the word of God deep in our heart like me as an ordinary person or a simple person who is always reading a Bible.

After you read all the content of my articles, I place some photos and videos that is related to my article writing because it is a useful in our everyday lives.

Inductive Bible Study is now a trend nowadays and it is still practice from other countries. The origin of this study begins in United States. I will not the name the church because it is famous around the world and I don't like it to published in publicity even in social media. The important part here is the approach of this study.

There are are several reasons for studying the Bible for yourself:

1. You don't have to have to depend on someone else.

2. You can know God personally that is proven and tested in my confirmation

3. You'll be transformed by the truth you discover for yourself

In deductive study, you should learn that it starts with a premise because it is believe to be true; 2nd it is works to prove this idea; 3rd it assumes the idea is biblical when proof text are found. 4th deducts a truth from the text which means attempting something to be true.

while in Inductive study, there are so many things you need to know

1st, you must know the objective and systematic

2nd it discovers the details of the text

3rd investigate the details

4th examines the text meaning it should be "investigate"

5th it "inducts" truth from the text

And the moral lesson that you should learn from me is "Do not use your reasoning and use the Bible to support it. But use your reasoning to draw truths out of the Bible."

Inductive Bible Study Method

The heart of Inductive Bible Study Method is seeing truth for yourself, discerning what it means, applying the truth of your life.

The main requirement in learning to study the Bible inductively is the willingness to slow down and really look what the scripture is saying.

Inductive bible study uses the bible itself as the primary source of information about the Bible and for me, this is the best commentary. My word of advice on this is to you may use a Bible concordance although please avoid using Bible commentaries, bible dictionaries, or Study bible notes. You may use after you are done with your study.

Inductive Bible study draws you into personal interaction with the scriptures and thus with the God of the scriptures so that your beliefs are based on a prayerful understanding and legitimate interpretation of the scriptures in which, this is the truth that transforms you when you live by it.

The inductive bible study method has three components

1. Observation

2.Interpretation

3. Application

The Process of Inductive Bible Study

As what I have said in the 2nd paragraph, the Inductive Bible Study has 3 components are these are Observation, Interpretation and Application.

A. Observation

Observation answers the question: What does the text say?

Please take note that it is very foundation which must be laid if you want to accurately interpret and properly God's word.

there are several things that we need to practice in observation, here are the following:

1. start with prayer

2. read with a purpose

3. mark key words and phrases

4. make a list

5. develop chapter theme

B. Interpretation

Interpretation answers the question What does the text mean?

Here are the important things to remember when it comes to interpretation:

1. Remember that context rules!

context rules is more on a considering each verse in the light of the surrounding verses, the book in which it is found, and the entire word of God. They never take a scripture out of its context to make it say what you want it to say. Discover what the author is saying; don't add to his or her meaning.

2. Always seek full counsel

3. Interpret scripture literally first

This part , I need discuss something very important. Once you start reading Bible, please take note that we must bear in our mind that the Bible is not a book of mysticism . God spoke to use that we might know the truth. Therefore, take the word of God in its natural, normal sense. Second is we must understand and recognize figures of speech and interpret them accordingly. Last although not hte least, we must determine the type of literature of the book. I am not saying that this is a review of related literature or related studies what I am trying to say is that is it historical? is it prophetic? is it biographical? is it poetic? is it a teaching? or is it proverbial? These are the things we need to consider of what is being said in the light of its literary style like you will find more smiles and metaphors in poetical and prophetic literature than in historical or biographical books. Interpret portions of scriptures according to their literary style.

C. Application

Application must answer the question: how does the text apply to my life?

There are two (2) things you need to know in application and these are: 1st, taking the meaning of the text and applying it to your life and 2nd is write lessons for life in the margin of your bible or observation sheet.

Take note, in writing the lessons for life in the margin of your bible or observation sheet can be noted in the margin of your Bible or Observation Sheet and you may mark a distinctive symbol to mark your lessons for life

Since I already mention the three components, all the Bible verses from the book of Genesis up to Revelations will be applied in this approach from time to time because without these three (3) you will start from the beginning to the end or you will start from the scratch..

Even though the title turned me off I read your discourse. It implies and rightfully so that it is difficult to understand scripture because The most important thing of all, you never mention.

NOT ONE TIME do you mention the Holy Spirit. Yet scripture tells us that if you are not baptized in the Holy Spirit YOU CANNOT UNDERSTAND scripture correctly. Before beginning your scripture study (not bible study) you must ask the Holy Spirit to show you all truth because ONLY the Holy Spirit was sent to teach us all truth.

You started out right, to use no books of man. Your advice to study for yourself is correct and necessary.

I do recommend one book before you start, A “manners and Customs of the Bible” which will show you what some of the hard to understand sayings etc of the times mean,

Then you will need a good bible such as the Geneva Bible or the Amplified. A good concordance and a Strongs. All available free from esword.

You can use your own method of outlining what is important to you, the use of so many colors and pictures is an unnecessary inconvenience and confusing. Yes write all over your bible (it is just a book and it is YOURS) but do it in a manner that is meaningful to you.

Then it gets really bad you do exactly what you had cautioned NOT TO DO, you introduce a man and us his videos. This is not your work it is an ad for his work. While there is much truth in what you say you have made it USELESS IN YOUR APPLICATION. This will lead to people reading the false doctrines of the man you copy and is against the work of understanding scripture correctly.

Yes the many FALSE doctrines of this man and group, I can show them to you if you wish.

So IN CONCLUSION your desire was probably good but you end up making it seem difficult to understand scripture (though scripture says a little child can understand), with a partially correct but mostly erroneous article promoting one that promotes false doctrine. It is not something to feed to those desiring to follow Christ.
