Is God Only Loving? Does God Judge?

Updated on February 20, 2013

The following brief writing was a response to an article on Chad Holtz being fired from a United Methodist Church in Henderson, North Carolina. Holtz sided with statements by Rob Bell that Hell does not exist. Bell wrote in his book, "Love Wins" that he saw a painting by artist Mohandas Ghandi. An unknown person stuck a note beneath the artwork, "Reality check: He's in Hell." Bell pondered this statement, and concluded Hell does not exist.

The author of the below is Carl Henderson. Carl is a full time missionary to the Philippines and elsewhere in Asia. He has served the Kingdom of God there for over four years. Many have been healed by the Power of God in Carl's ministry.

Is Your Perception of God Real or Fake?

People like this, think they can make God nicer than HE is. It is idolatry to create another God in our image. Instead of being transformed into God’s image.

Jesus the kind and wonderful, is a false God, and a figment of their imagination. Jesus said “if you love me you keep my commandments!” Heretics, like these pastors, are always trying to “reinvent orthodoxy”. Nobody preached about hell more than Jesus of Nazareth! Jesus mentioned hell 33 times in the New Testament.

For instance, in the book of Mark 9 42-48, NKJV, Jesus warns about hell three times in just one chapter, saying,
“…. to go to hell, into the fire that shall never be quenched— 44 where

‘ Their worm does not die

And the fire is not quenched.’[d
45 ….. It is better for you to enter life lame, rather than having two feet, to be cast into hell, into the fire that shall never be quenched— 46 where

‘ Their worm does not die

And the fire is not quenched.’[e]
47 ,….It is better for you to enter the kingdom of God with one eye, rather than having two eyes, to be cast into hell fire— 48 where, ‘ Their worm does not die And the fire is not quenched.’[f]

You can’t have the love, mercy and grace of God and not have the justice, judgment, and punishment of God. God is not Santa Claus or some other mythical good fairy.

Heretics don’t like the God described by the apostle Paul who says, “consider the goodness and severity of God: on those who fell, severity; but toward you, goodness, if you continue in His goodness.” Romans 11:22.

In fact, Jesus said the work of the Holy Spirit was to, “convict the world concerning sin and righteousness and judgment: concerning sin, because they do not believe in me; concerning righteousness, because I go to the Father, and you will see me no longer; concerning judgment, because the ruler of this world is judged." - John 16:8-11. Sin and judgment is an intricate part of the gospel!

These heretic pastors also don’t like the Jesus who took a whip to the money changers and cleansed the temple, or the one who called the Jews “hypocrites”, “blind guides”, “Fools and blind”, “whitewashed tombs”, “serpents and a brood of vipers” in Matthew 23. Yes, Jesus called religious pretenders a bunch of snakes! Their “happy, clappy, everyone-goes-to-heaven-Jesus, never existed, yet it is the words of Jesus which will judge the wicked and the dead.

Concerning, Mahatma Gandhi, these people have made him and other “so called” Asian “holy men” (like him and the Dalai Lama) into saints, when they were primarily politicians and idolaters. Mahatma Gandhi always stated he was a politician. It was after his death that they turned him into a “holy man.” When Gandhi was assassinated he said “oh, God” but the translation was not God the creator or Jesus Christ but a false Hindu God called Raama. Calling out to a false God does not lead to salvation.

If God accepted false gods, the Hindus/ Brahmins would not have been offended by the Apostle Thomas and killed him in India 1900 years before. God hates false gods and idolatry and Gandhi worshiped false gods and was an idolater who called out to a false god while dying. Hindus still kill Christians in India. In January, 1999 the Australian missionary Graham Stains and his sons were burned to death in their car. Hindu Christians are raped, burned and killed today for leaving Hinduism. This evil religion with institutional racism (the caste system) and subjugation of women is the opposite of the God of the Bible. Christianity says, “there is neither Jew nor Greek, slave nor free, male or Female”. Hinduism says, you can be born worthless (low caste) fit only to sweep, clean and work in sewage and even if you’re starving you can’t eat the cows or rats walking around you.

Let’s be honest, “Let God be right and every man a liar.” These pastors “are blind guides” leading large numbers into “a ditch” and hell.

HI there, good article, well written

I agree with you 100 percent. Why do people not accept the fact that God is judgement and punishment also. They only want his good side, thinking if they worship him and go to church (dont walk the talk) then everything is all right.

God sees/knows/hears all, he knows our hearts, who is righteous and who isnt. God is angered with the wicked everyday. From experience on what is going on around here, God punishes not only judgement day but everyday, and in so many ways.

People are blind and prefer to only accept scientific knowledge and not deny it is in the hands of God.

I wrote a hub "in the hands of an Angry God" I had a few people tell me that everyone needs to read it.

People need to get a grib and realize he is the King of Kings and will destroy if needed. By right also, he does not have to justify his actions or answer to anyone. His reasons are always right.

      thank you

You mention a very important, often misunderstood scripture. Jesus said (recorded in Matthew 19:23-26):

"...Verily I say unto you, That a rich man shall hardly enter into the kingdom of heaven. And again I say unto you, It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God. When his disciples heard it, they were exceedingly amazed, saying, Who then can be saved? But Jesus beheld them, and said unto them, With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible."

The key thing is this: WITH GOD, all things are possible. Second, the scripture refers to "a rich man".

Now, in regards to buddhism, it is nothing short of sorcery. It is demonic. Read the book "Jews, Jesus, and Jihad" by Marvin Yakos. He escaped from the highest levels of buddhism along with 12 others. He was the only one who was not killed by the BUDDHIST ASSASSINS sent to kill them all to protect their secrets. He went to the Redwood forest in Northern California, and Jesus appeared to him. He got saved and trusted in Jesus. For one full year, Yakos fought demons that had entered into him (giving him amazing powers), and got set free.

Although he spent 18 years collecting demonic powers, Jesus was able to set him free. "With God, all things are possible."

I hope you will abandon the path you are on (are you left or right hand buddhist?) and follow Jesus. Jesus is the ONLY way to Heaven. With man (or any man-created or demon-created religious systems), it is impossible.

"Their “happy, clappy, everyone-goes-to-heaven-Jesus, never existed,"

Absolutely true... Heaven, in the sense of a perfect heaven, is indeed more difficult to get into "than passing a camel through the eye of a needle" ...

Indeed, even Jesus didn't get to heaven, because he killed animals (fish), only Buddhists are completely non-harming to all life, and the pure essence of absolute prayer and perfection of love towards all beings (not just humans).
