Is God crazy?

Updated on July 3, 2012

He is there

He seems strange to Me

Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds James 1:2

What is god, nuts? Why should it be considered pure joy when I am losing my job or marriage or there is a severe health problem? Does He get some perverted pleasure out of watching me suffer?

If you are asking these relevant questions here is the simple answer: God wants you to consider it joy because you depend completely on Him for the solution. And, as He walks you through these difficulties you learn to depend on and trust God more and more. In doing so your relationship with Him grows stronger and deeper. THAT will bring you pure joy. THAT will start you on your journey to heaven.

His divine power has given us everything we need for life and godliness through our knowledge of Him who called us by His own glory and goodness.2 Peter 1:3

I know when I experienced some terrible experiences in my life, they surely were not pleasant. On the other side of them though, I saw how God was gently and securely guiding me through them.

Think of a blind man and his guide dog. Does the blind man see where he is going? No, he trusts the dog. How much more should we trust God who sees the big picture?

God promises a safe landing, not a calm passage.

“Then trust the Lord completely, don’t even trust yourself. In everything you do, put God first and He will direct you and crown your efforts with success.” Proverbs 3:5 (Living Bible)

Life is a grindstone. Whether it grinds us down or polishes us up depends on you. L. Thomas Holdcroft

Allow the Holy Spirit to use your difficulties to grind you into a beautiful, precious jewel. Joseph-Anthony: Green

And my God shall supply all your needs according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus.Philippians 4:19 (New American Standard Bible)

God promises and God always delivers on His promises. Joseph- Anthony: Green

Prayer: Please Jehovah Abba (Jehovah our Father in Heaven) please instill in my heart a simple child like trust in You to guide me through this journey of life. As I learn to become more and more reliant upon Your wise guidance allow this to metamorphosis into a deep loving relationship between us. I ask this humble request in the name of my big brother, Jesus Christ. Amen.

May the sunshine of Jesus’ sweet love bless you today and every day.

      I like your analogy Mhatter.

Yeah Civil War Bob. I agree.

Yes teaches, many times I though God was crazy, but slowly over time what He revealed to me was amazing.

      God bless you.

I sometimes have these thoughts when I face difficult situations. It does seem as if he's contradicting his promises, but as you continue to follow and build a relationship with God -- he proves how it all works for good. Romans 8:28 states this as well. Enjoyed the read, voted up and shared.

Yeah, Joe...we know that the trials produce endurance; which then produces our "completeness." I've always thought of James as "the Apostle from Missouri"...the "show me" guy. Voted up, useful, interesting...enjoy your day!
