Is Hell In the center of the earth or not?

Updated on August 12, 2013

Have you ever wondered where hell is? Or, how someone's soul gets there? I have so I started reading about it and decided to write this hub. These are some of the the things I found. A group of geologists who study the history of the earth by digging through it's remains had decided to dig a deep hole. They dug a hole about seven miles deep when the started to hear screams, or what the thought were screams. They reported this to the media, but did not record it. Since they did not record the sounds no one believe them and they were quickly forgotten. Then in Siberia, around the same time a company started to drill for oil. They had to stop at seven miles because the drill began to spin out of control. Dr. Azzccov said that the temperature at the seven mile place was two thousand degrees, and he felt that that the earth might be on fire down at the center of the earth. Some scientist even believe that hell is located at the center of the earth. This was explained on a television program, called Hell's Crust. The scientists basically explained in the program that the center of the earth is so very hot that it moves and is violent. It's violence causes causes earthquakes, volcanoes to erupt, and tsunamis. The earthquakes alone have one hundred thousand times more energy then the nuclear bomb that was dropped on Hiroshima. Then one of them said that only hell has that much energy.

What I have read are many verses in the bible that tell us that hell is in the earth. Here are a few of them. In Mathew 12:40 Jesus Chris said For as Jonas was three days and three nights in the whale's belly, so shall be the Son of Man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth. That means to me that hell is deep in the center of the earth. Ezekiel 32:18 Son of Man , wail for me the multitude of Egypt and cast themselves down, even her, unto neither parts of the earth that go down into the pit. There is one more chapter in the bible that is very strong and powerful. The chapter is in Revelation 20:10 And the devil that had deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast, and the false prophet also are, and shall be tormented day and night forever.

So, after reading this, I do believe hell is in the center of our earth. There is a video at the bottom that has recorded screams.

Thank you for commenting on the hub. When you read the bible you read many things that make you think. It does that to me anyway. However your hubs are also wonderful.

      God bless you.

Then why are you reading my hubs? If you don't like them, leave them alone and write your own hubs. If you think people need to be taught the truth, then you need the courage to teach them. You keep pushing the thumbs down button, that does not matter. If you know the truth, then write it. Do not just go around and tell people they are wrong. Have the courage to preach the word of God to all the lands.

Or do you wish to keep this to yourself? Do you wish to keep the word of God to yourself and no one else?

Two hubs, are like a whisper. Like one who hides the word of God.

Sheol (or Hades) is described as being "in the heart of the earth" in Matthew 12:40 and is said to be below, down, or beneath in passages such as Deuteronomy 32:22, Isaiah 14:9, and Ezekiel 31:16.

The English word "Hell" refers to a place of eternal punishment for the wicked. Its meaning does not distinguish between the two separate places for the wicked to be punished, one temporary for the soul, and the other, the Lake of Fire, permanent for the soul and body. Nor does its meaning include the place of comfort for saints prior to Christ's resurrection. In normal English conversation, "Hell" is used only in the negative sense, with no saved people ever going there.

Lake of Fire described in Revelation 19 and 20. It is presently uninhabited, but the Beast and the False Prophet will be cast into it at the end of the tribulation (Revelation 19:20). One thousand years later, Satan will be cast into it (Revelation 20:10) and will be followed shortly by the lost people of all previous time periods (Revelation 20:15). They will all enter Gehenna together, in there resurrected bodies, where they will remain in torment for all eternity.

This Revelation 20 passage makes it clear that Hades and the Lake of Fire are not the same place. At the great white throne judgement at the end of the 1000 year kingdom, those in Hades will be removed from Hades, as Revelation 20:13 says, "... hell (Hades) delivered up the dead which were in them ...." And those which were in Hades will be cast into the Lake of Fire (Revelation 20:14-15). Note that the timing of this relocation of the lost occurs just before where Revelation 21:1 says, "And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea." Hades, which will be emptied in Revelation 20:13, apparently will them be destroyed, since it is in the heart of the first earth.

Sheol (Hebrew) and Hades (Greek) are the temporary place of torment for the souls of the wicked dead. Prior to Christ's resurrection, saints were kept and comforted in the now vacant half of Hades, known as Abraham's Bosom. Gehenna (Greek, but from a Hebrew name) is the Lake of Fire for the permanent place of torment of the souls of the wicked dead in their resurrected bodies. Hell is a rather general and inadequate term that is often used to refer to either Gehenna or the torment side of Hades, both by those who know the basic difference between these two specific places and by those who do not.

When Christ was speaking about the rich man and Lazrurus in Luke 16, He was talking about the prophecy of Daniel, Malachi, John the baptist. The end of the age of the old covenant.

I don't understand. I looked up all the verses, and they can be interpreted in about three different ways. I always thought The Lake of Fire was a discription of Hell was one place. I also thought Hell was a spiritual place where our souls is sepperated from God forever. Not in the center of the earth, because this is a phisical place. I'm asking honestly, does it really matter where it is? Will it affect whether or not people come to know Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savor? I guess I answered my own question.

      No disrespect in any way.

I am a believer in both God and Christ, but have you concidered the possibility that hell is of pagan origin? Have you also concidered that the Lake of Fire is not what you have been taught (Heb 12:29)?

Yeah, iv considered it. But I took (Heb 12:29) like the Israelistes took it coming out of Egypt. They were lead by a pillar of Cloud by day and Pillar of Fire by night.

Also, in the Old Testiment they refer to worship as sacrificing their very best animal by Consumtion of Fire. Until Jesus came and became th Ultimate sacrifice.

That the doctrine of hell is a false doctrine, and the LoF is short for "Lake of Fire".

Thank you for your comments. I am still trying to learn. Sometimes comments help me learn a lot. I need to read more. Perhaps the fire does not last forever, it simply destroys.

Matthew 12:40 does refer to Hell. Jesus is asked for a sign. He calls it the sign of Jonas. Son of Man is Jesus. He is speaking of his death and resurrection. Read the context. Anyway, I don't believe the stories about drilling to Hell or the voices. Faith should be from individual personal experience not from fantastic stories which may or may not be true.
