Is there really a life after death?

Life After Death? Most Certainly So!

This is such a hot topic! I strongly believe that yes, there is life after death! When one does energy work and healing such as I and many other on this earth, we realize how much our past lives affect our present ones!

I believe that we are souls having a human experience and that we choose to come onto this earth to live and learn with the ultimate goal of evolving into the purest of light beings! We choose our parents (and not the other way around!) we teach them and we are taught by our children too! I believe that everybody that crosses our paths is a member of our soul family or family of souls if you want to call it that. These are soul-mates. Your friends, lovers, children, family even your next door neighbour could be you soul-mate. Then you have the souls that are more than soul-mates, but that's a different topic! ;-)

When you leave one life and your soul decides to reincarnate into a new being, I believe it is a choice made by the soul. The so called expression "Karma" comes into play here which many people believe strongly in (Buddhists, Hindu, Sikhs) and is Sanskrit for act, action, performance. [The philosophical explanation of karma can differ slightly between traditions, but the general concept is basically the same. Through the law of karma, the effects of all deeds actively create past, present, and future experiences, thus making one responsible for one's own life, and the pain and joy it brings to him/her and others. The results or 'fruits' of actions are called karma-phala. In religions that incorporate reincarnation, karma extends through one's present life and all past and future lives as well] (Wikipedia, the free encyclopaedia).

I have had the personal experience of working with one of my Master Reiki teachers on a client suffering from a debilitating disease. By "talking" to his soul through techniques we use in energy healing, we discovered that this person in his previous life had made many, many people suffer. When his soul choose to reincarnate once again, it made the decision to "pay" back the bad deeds and wrongs by having the human experience of a sick person with an incurable disease. Yes, we did much to alleviate his symptoms to such a point that he could actually walk without the help of his wheelchair by doing deep cellular cleansing and helping his Karma along!

All this to say that life after death DOES exist. Why else would you see children that are prodigies on this earth? Heck, I don't thing they learned their amazing skills in this life, but over a series of lifetimes! Why is that we are often drawn to people we feel that we have met or known before? I say when we feel this is because they are a member of our soul family and we have already passed several lifetimes with them! Sometimes, we meet certain people and from one life to another, go through painful situations with them until we learn and break the pattern. I also believe strongly that people who commit suicide have lessons to learn at the soul level that must be dealt with, and if not, they reincarnate once again, repeating often the same pattern UNTIL they learn the lesson and continue on with their physical lives.

I've had cases myself of clients in bad karma, reliving over and over again in this life, painful situations that they can't shake off. By working with them using Reiki energy, I've helped them evolve past the obstacle and continue evolving, shortening their Karma and the debt that their soul carries. It works, but one must believe and be open to the possibilities!

As the soul evolves and learns through human experiences, it approaches the ultimate light, one with the universal energy or God as some may call it. There are young, middle-aged and old souls out there. Physical age has nothing to do with it. You can be an old person with a very young soul and I find this shows up by the way the person has lived their life. Look at people around you, observe their behaviour. I find young souls are the driven ones, the money makers, workaholics, determined step on everyone to get where they want to go, etc. Their beliefs are more rigid, close-minded, less wise. I have seen and know of young people, even children that are old souls and very wise!! The most simple, uncomplicated happy people I have known in this life are very old baby brother is one of them!! I know for a fact I am an old soul too, and that my daughter is older than me! She told me once when she was 4 years old that she was once my mother. OKAYYYY...that doesn't mean you can do what you want now, I'm your mom now!! lol

kmartel, I loved your wonderful article. I also believe in life after death and in reincarnation. I further believe that God does not judge us; however, there is a life review which our actions are reviewed. There is no judgement from God or higher entities. We review our life passages from our viewpoint and the viewpoint of others whom our actions affected. I also believe that there are old souls and young souls. Old souls are wise beyond their years and are very kind and knowing, having lived many lifetimes before. Great article and lots of love!

I agree. There are more than one path to Heaven or places like that. I do believe that those who believe in the Armageddon will stop at nothing to get us there.

I agree, we all have our own beliefs and ways of seeing reality. But, I have to disagree on one point, we all are special and unique, each and every one of us.

I also dont believe in doesn't exist in my reality (for me it's nonsense written by scared people...have a look at my article on God and Jesus and the bible...please don't blast me! You'll see my drift on!!!)

Lots of things I don't beleive in: I don't believe in Swine flu (or anything like colds, flu, etc..haven't had a cold or flu in 4 years..once I started believing that they don't exist in my reality! People get sick around me, I don't. The mind is stronger than the virus! lol. Anyways..gotta is waiting. Have a great day and hope we'll talk again ;)

Thanks Writers are just simple human beings expressing different than you and I. They have no greater understanding of "life" than any of us. We are an incipient life form engaged in the processes of natural selection...we are nothing special. As human population grows, our viability as a species will diminish and monotheists will probably cause the self fulfilling prophecy: Armageddon," to be realized. We will be reduced, as Einstein said, to the "stone age" again. Why worry? You and I will be long gone........forever. :-)

PS I am a 60 yr old "dweeb." lolol

no problems understanding English, French or Spanish! ;-)

Your overuse of the English language bothers me, makes my skin twitch in agony!!

If ever you want a good Reiki healing, let me know. I feel there's a lot of issues you have buried deeply at the cellular level. I would also suggest you read Marci Shimoff's book : "Happy for No Reason" 7 steps to being happy from the inside out. Oh, yeah, and the book by Eckhart Tolle: " The Power of Now".

Happy reading and I hope one day laughter and love will find it's way into your heart. Bonne soirée.

Hi Kmartel: I'm sorry you have problems understanding English. If my ability to use English bothers you, pls, I am a sympathetic soul, there are a few things you can do to alleviate your problem: 1.double up on the advil,2. learn english (dictionaries help) 3. don't read my comments. I hope I was helpful. Oh, you are right tho, in 1 sense, I am an egoist and detest self imposed ignorance such as that which you openly exhibit... but ty for your thoughtful and valueless reply...:-)

qwark..I've read through some of your works and your comments you leave on other writers' hubs and in all honesty..for such an "evolved being" as proclaim yourself to be, boy do you leave stupid comments! You are negative, condenscending, overbearing, snotty and arrogant..I could go on and on. I think you have an over-inflated EGO! (or you're actually a "dweeb" sitting behind the shield of your computer and dumping your "poor unique me" on the world. Get real, live in the now and cut down on those big useless words that you use throughout your writings and comments that make me want to reach for a bottle of

You're right that this is a 'hot topic.' I've found, during the course of the last year that so many people actually wonder if there is life after death. Now I can unabashedly state that there is indeed Life After Death. How do I know? The answer lies in the fact that on February 16, 2008 (just over a year ago) I died and was translated into Heaven.

My death was preceded by treatment for Stage IV oropharyngeal cancer which consisted of chemo and radiation therapies for months. Then, on February 16th I died of a drug overdose caused from my treatments. When I say that I died I really mean that I DIED -- in at least 3 ways.

First, I suffered from respiratory arrest (death), then, due to the respiratory arrest I suffered cardiac arrest (heart attack that led to death), and, finally I was formally pronounced dead due to the fact that when they did an EEG (brain wave scan) on me I showed no brain actvity (caused by cerebral hypoxia/anoxia -- death).

My wife was told by the on-call physician as well as several nurses that, prior to my dying of brain death, the best case scenario was that if I woke up it wouldn't be for a minimum of 3 weeks and, due to the fact that I'd also suffered from a major stroke, she could expect to spoon feed me and change my diapers for the rest of my life. Then, later that evening she was told in no uncertain terms that I was DEAD (brain dead) and that she should go ahead and sign the DNR forms so they could harvest my organs to help other people live.

Needless to say, since I am personally writing this comment, while I was dead, I got better. In fact, I was immediately healed of several physical disorders the day I was resurrected and I've not suffered any physical brain damage from the stroke. Plus, while I wasn't supposed to wake-up for at least 3 weeks I was in and out of the hospital in 10 days!!!

In short, while I was dead here on Earth I was very much alive in Heaven. I was immediately transported onto a road of translucent gold (see through gold) and was flanked by three angels. While on the road I was able to see what was going on back on Earth. Further, I saw that two of my relatives were in Hell. I also experienced some incredible things -- such as a peace that literally goes beyond all human understanding, the scent, smell and breeze of Heaven, and I saw hundreds of people who met me there. Further, my experience in Heaven was later confirmed by at least two different sources; 1) The experience of a Southern Baptist Minister by the name of Don Piper who wrote the book "90 Minutes In Heaven." His experience and my own so mimic each others that I will be eternally grateful that I'd not read his book prior to my own death. The reason is because if I had I would be convinced that most of what I had experienced in Heaven was simply a hallucination based on his book. As it is, I read his book AFTER I died and so it was confirmation of what I had seen while in Heaven. 2) I met a woman in Heaven whom I'd never met on Earth. In fact, she died nearly 30 years prior to my own death in 2008. The woman is my mother-in-law (my wife's mom -- June) and she was wearing a blue dress with puffy blue sleeves. The reason I note the type of dress she was wearing is because it served as a second confirmation in that one of my wife's cousins (Thea) remembered telling her aunt June not to wear the dress because it made her look too small. I recount this testimony of the dress for two reasons; 1) The type of dress June was wearing simply isn't in my 'wardrobe vocabulary' -- in other words while I'd never seen a dress like it, even if I had, I wouldn't have imagined anyone wearing one. 2) Since I've returned from Heaven I've searched through every picture that anyone has of June and not one of them shows her wearing a dress that remotely resembles the one that I saw her in and that Thea remembers her wearing (by the way, Thea was told my story by her mom and dad -- not me -- which means there's no way I could have influenced her).

In any case, THIS is why I believe in Life After Death (I experienced it). If you'd like to learn more about my experience you can visit my web site at: I've also written a hub on this site under the name PastorLonnie
