Islam's views on extremism and more

Islam's views on Jihad, Terrorism, Assassination and more

This is part II to what I am now calling the "The Truth of Islam" series In shaa Allah this series will help spread the truth of Islam. The truth the American media and government would hide from you and rather have you not know. Any ways on to the topic..

Islam's views on: Jihad, Holy War, Terrorism, Fanaticism, Extremism, Compulsion, Assassination, Revolution, and Fundamentalism.

In the name of Allah, most Gracious and Merciful.

1. Jihad.

The word Jihad is Arabic from the root word "Jahada"; which means "to strive for a better way of life."

The most fierce fight in jihad is a persons struggle against them self to make them self a better person. This struggle is for this person to no longer commit crimes against them self, or others. This person fights to no longer commit any evil act of any kind at any time. A Muslim who has given them self to Allah must follow certain rules that include but are not limited to; controlling their ego, lust, selfishness, they must not do harm to any person, animal or the environment. That person must try their best to remain humble, and respectful, no matter another persons race, color, gender, nationality or religious beliefs. A Muslim is expected to act as an angel in this life. They help the poor, the needy, the naked, the injured, the sick, all of those who need help. They are expected to sacrifice all that is in excess to them self, time, money, wisdom, and anything else that can be used to help mankind. This is true Jihad.

Any person who makes Jihad against them self will be rewarded by Allah in the Hereafter. When making Jihad one should make their intent of the Jihad to be for the love and glory of Allah. This person should never brag of their efforts of Jihad. This is the true Jihad from the Nobel Qur'an but do not take my word this can be found in the Qur'an in VS 3:142, 22:78, 29:6, 29:69.

As many would think or have you believe, Jihad is not a war to force your beliefs on others. It should never be used as a tool to make others believe as we do.

Islam expressly prohibits the acts of terrorism, kidnapping and hijacking under any circumstances, whether it be peace or war time. During war Muslim soldiers are not allowed to destroy any structure,or tree, they are not allowed to attack any civilian, especially children, Holy men, women, and the elderly.

2. Holy war.

The term "Holy War" is not an Islamic term. It was actually used by the Christians during the crusades. Also the term "Infidels" has the same origin and was a name given to all Arabs even Christians, because they did not accept the catholic church as the supreme ruler on religion. The only thing that is "Holy" is Allah, our Qur'an is not even called "Holy". It is in direct conflict of Islam to partake in "Holy War". In order to justify war against Muslims, the lie that we worship the moon was propagated. This is not true the symbol of the croissant is the moon and the star, this symbolises the two calendars that Muslims use in the worship of Allah, the ONLY thing worshiped by Muslims is ALLAH.

The crusaders killed 200,000 people in the middle east. This was Christians, Jews and Muslims. The Spanish inquisition carried out by the Franco's killed 10 million Muslims and 4 thousand Jews. These acts of terror were done in the name of Christianity. Jesus was innocent of any terror yet Christians boldly used his name to destroy so much life. But it will be said that the Christians of today are not to be blamed for these acts, no person or group should be held accountable for the acts of others.

The Qur'an states about the murder of innocent people: " Whoever Kills one person, it will be as though that person killed all of mankind."

It is also a sin for one to create any act that would lead to war, this is a very serious sin against Allah and the way of Islam. The true Muslim wants nothing but peace and harmony.

3. Terrorism.

Terrorism in the Oxford dictionary is defined as such:

1. A government by intimidation as directed and carried out by the party in power.

2. A policy intended to strike with terror those against whom it was adopted; the employment of methods of intimating; the fact of terrorizing or the condition of being terrorized.

The word "terrorist" is defined as followes:

1. One who entertains. professes, or tries to awaken or spread a feeling of terror or alarm.

Islam and most any other religion on this planet are against terrorism. It must be said that a true Muslim is one who, in peace, submits them self to Allah. This person tries their best to live in and spread peace under all conditions, and to all people. No person has the right to harm another person in any fashion, if it be verbal, physical, psychological or indirect assault. Muslims welcome all people no matter what their religion to their homes. They respect all religious beliefs and encourage those of different faith to open talks to find common ground to stop all violence. The Prophet Muhammad( may peace be upon him) once stated: "All people of the world are members of the family of God. The best one is the one who goes out of his way to help everyone with love, respect, and honor."

4. Fanaticism

This to is non existent in Islam. The traditions of Islam are simple and easy. Islam is built of great gifts rather than warnings. The Prophet(may peace be upon him) sent 2 people to spread Islam in Yemen. This was to show that it could be done in peace and easily.

5. Extremism

Muslims are peaceful, they react neither with violence or verbal threats. They are not fanatic or extreme, they neither intimidate nor can they be intimidated. They accept no injustice inflicted on any person. They accept no extreme spiritual rituals, materials, or involvement. They are to remain on middle ground, Allah says this in the Qur'an: "Thus we have appointed you a middle community that you may witness against mankind, and that the Messenger may be a witness against you." (2:143).

6. Compulsion

There is NO such thing as compulsion in the religion of Islam. The idea of forcing or compelling one in any way to come to Islam is forbidden. The Qur'an openly says this is wrong and no Muslim should take part in compelling anyone. "There shall be no coercion in matters of faith. Distinct has now become the Right way from(the way of) error: hence, he who rejects the powers of evil and believes in Allah has indeed taken hold of a support most unfailing, which shall never give way; for Allah is All Hearing, All Knowing." (2:256)

"Compulsion necessitates conversion, and conversion necessitates exploitation. All of these methods are contrary to the teachings of Islam. Freedom of religion is one of the foundations of Islam. Accordingly, Christians and Jews flourished and prospered in Muslim lands throughout the history of Islam."

7. Assassination

The act of assassinating innocent people is against Islamic law. In no way does Islam support the murder of another human for personal differences. In Islam to have difference in people it to have a healthy society. When a person kills another it is as if they killed all of mankind and Allah says this on the subject: "Because of this we did ordain unto the children of Israel that, if anyone slays a human- unless it be (in punishment) for murder or spreading corruption on earth- it shall be as though he did slay all of mankind; whereas, if anyone saves a life, it shall be as if he saved the lives of all mankind." (5:32)

In Islam anyone guilty of murder not only faces capital punishment but must also pay a ransom to the family of the departed.

8. Revolution

Military coup's are against Islam, the Prophet(may peace be upon him) never caused one in his life, and as a Muslim we are to imitate him in all ways. In Mecca He slowly worked to change the pagans over a period of 13 years, and did it peacefully. When his revolution is spoken of it is actual evolution that took place. His patience and hard work brought about change peacefully, no harm was done to unbelievers.

When one is ready to come to Islam then and only then is it brought to them. One great example of this is the Muslims taking over Mecca with out war, and from there Islam spread through the middle east peacefully.

9. Fundamentalism

Once again we find a topic often associated with Islam in western media that is not allowed by Islamic law. To be evangelical, dogmatic or radical is against Islamic law, and would not be done by any true Muslim. Although Islam teaches its followers to not be shocked and try to mellow all extremists. That they may see the errors of their ways.

Islam is the name of the Muslim religion the name comes from the Arabic root word of "Slim" and "Salaam" which means peace, it is also used as a greeting. One of the most beautiful names for Allah is "The Peaceful." Islam is not just a religion it is a way of life. In all aspects of life a Muslim is to practice peace and patience with all people and things of this earth. Complete Loyalty to Allah is a must in Islam.

Some of the most important principles in Islam are : First, the Oneness of God. The oneness of mankind and the oneness of the Prophets and Messengers, The day of judgement and the innocence of humans at birth, love and respect of all people and their religious beliefs.

The five pillars of Islam are as follows:

1. Shahada, our oath of religion

2. Salat, or prayer

3. Siyam, or fasting

4. Zakat, or helping the poor

5. Hajj, or the pilgrimage to Mecca

The solar and lunar calendars are used to mark religious practices. Our place of Worship is called a Masjid

Muslims must also respect their parents, women, children, elderly, and all teachers. Family values are one of the most important practices of Islam. And living in peace with all people from all parts of the world is a goal of all Muslims.

I hope this helps shed some light on the Truth of Islam. Next time the media tell you a lie you man know the truth, in shaa Allah( if it is God's will).
