It is all in our Imagination!

Updated on December 14, 2011

Agitation less consciousness.

Titles sometimes confuses us than the subject. Only after writing the entire hub, I will myself understand the subject more. It has been my wont, that I always start typing without any preparation or preconception about the title as well as the matter. They fall in line as i proceed typing. Now the title is ready. I have to proceed further in the hope of getting clarified.

The term "Imagination" thrills all of us. Most of us day dream weaving scenes after scenes. Mostly, they are our innermost wishes or aspirations. Before going to a place, we imagine the sequence of events sometimes. Before meeting some one new, we imagine certain picture about him. What is all this? Is this intuition or inspiration or mere day dreaming? I am quite ignorant of the answer as the above comes under the category of 'paranormal' or bits of crazy imagination.

Now let us try to define, "image" first. It is a copy or replica either in paper or sculpture or even a photo. It is not real in the sense that it is only an image. But the act of imagination takes place in our mind mysteriously. Yes, the mind is quite capable of weaving scenes after scenes without the aid of pen or paper or canvas. It is instantaneous and it takes no real time. In a moment, we can conceive a scene of a scene in a foreign land. We have not moved from our place. We have not embarked on the journey. There is no plane ticket etc. Without spending any money or time, your mind imagines certain scenes in no time. The mind is quite capable of forming those illusory pictures since it is the habit of the mind and its capacity to create dreams which are akin to real time experience. Every day, every one during sleep invariably dreams. He witness many wonderful things which are unimaginable during day time! I have dreamt having met the Chief Minister, some famous actors and some sages too. I used to interact with them. Every thing looked so real. Then, when i wake up in the morning, every things turns to be mere illusion or imagination of the mind!

Now I understand that the mind is quite capable of deluding us when we drift into sleep during the night. But many times, we take a nap in the afternoon also. I have dreamt during the afternoon nap also regularly. So this is possible either during the day or night. The only precondition is that we must get 'sleep'. Now let us analyze the sleep itself. It is a temporary disconnection between your limbs and the command center in the brain. Your body is in rest. Your brain too is in a sort of rest mode. Mysteriously, the mind is active. It seems that the mind never sleeps or take rests. It is continuous weaving of thoughts whether we are awake or sleep. The only time the mind suspends its activity is when the Yogi enjoys "Nirvikalpa" Samadhi. Here the mind is suspended and the Yogi revel in His own SELF! It is actually the "Bliss Supreme". Here the term "Nirvikalpa" is a sanskrit term which conveys the placid, agitation less conscious. The bliss can not be expressed during the Nirvikalpa Samadhi". The Yogi revels in the Bliss". He may slide back into the normal waking stage just like Sri Ramakrishna Paramahamsa! Words do not have the capacity to explain this stage since words will fall short of the experience. All the experiences of waking stage and dream state is thus 'imaginations of the mind"

A rare image!
