It is going to happen

Updated on September 4, 2012

Let Jesus be your shield

Don’t try to avoid rejection

“If the world hates you, keep in mind that it hated me first. If you belonged to the world, it would love you as its own. As it is, you do not belong to the world, but I have chosen you out of the world. That is why the world hates you.Remember what I told you: ‘A servant is not greater than his master.’ If they persecuted me, they will persecute you also. John 15:20

Just as Jesus was unfairly vehemently persecuted so too will you be.

You can no longer avoid rejection than you can avoid suffering the sting of burning sand on your bare feet on a blistering hot day at the beach. You are going to be persecuted for your belief whether it is from the spears of cruel comments or jokes about you at work and by former friends, whether it be ostracized from your family (indeed many are told their family members will never speak to them again because they are Christians) or by your employer (You won’t be dishonest in your business dealings or participate in some other dishonest shenanigans).

When it happens, take it to Jesus. Remember: He’s been through whatever you are going through and much worse. He loves you. He will send the Holy Spirit to comfort and encourage you. I know He has me whenever persecution has happened to me.

Prayer: Please Jehovah Shammah (God is present) please give me the strength and courage to continue in developing a deeper relationship with You, not matter what the cost. Please send You precious healing balm to my heart when others pierce it with their cruel and unkind words. I ask in the name of Him who constantly suffered insults during His earthly ministry, Jesus Christ. Amen.

May the sunshine of Jesus’ sweet love bless you today and every day.

      Good morning Lady E.

I believe we should end all our articles with prayers as it encourages those reading to pray. It is just as important to end with a blessing so that those reading may feel Gods presence. That is just my personal preferance.

Sometimes we all feel God has deserted us but must remember God has promised to never leave nor forsake us.

      God bless you.

Thanks. I enjoyed this too. Sometimes we wonder if God is around us - comforting to read the words: Jehovah Shammah. I love the way you put a prayer at the end of each Hub.

Well said, teacherjoe52, or, rather, well written. God's love is for everyone if they accept it, and for all time. I enjoyed reading your hub and have voted it up.

      Hi Debbie.

Thank you for the honour of sharing one of my articles on your facebook page.

      Hi Gina.

I am blessed that the article has encouraged you.

      Hi Sparklea.

Yes it is heart breaking when someone close to you becomes estranged from you and yes it hurts. I have been through it a couple of times. I have put you on my prayer list and will pray every morning for reconcilliation in your family.

      Hi teaches.

Yes as a teacher I am sure we have both seen the destructive power of rejection.

I too am estatic for Gods never ending love for me.

      God bless you all.

Wise words of wisdom, TeacherJoe. Rejection ruins a person's self esteem and makes them feel like a loser, especially when you have reached out to someone in trust and love. I am thankful for God's unconditional love that remains faithful and open at all times.

If God be for us, who can be against us??? That says it all. Everything you share in this hub is so true. One of my grown children (he got saved at age five) started resenting me after he got married ...especially my faith in God...and he has totally turned away. He and his wife have 4 children and I don't even know if my grandchildren know who God is.(there was a 7 year estrangement, so my grandchildren hardly know me) I just uphold them in prayer every day. Breaks my heart. Blessings, Sparklea
