It was raining bread! ...... Yet they still complained.
Raining bread from Heaven above.
We take so much for granted. Being human we can be so unappreciative. We expect so much until there is the very least of expectations. When is enough, enough? Is it ever? There are times when I do not even appreciate the goodness of God. Why do we take so much for granted? In my heart I know that I should get down on my knees and thank Him from my heart for His goodness and so very many blessings. Sometimes I do that but other times I just take the host of blessings completely for granted. Like that is the way it is supposed to be. That each and every day I should want for nothing. Where is the thankfulness and gratitude. It makes me think of the Israelites in the desert who were hungry. God made it rain food for them. They were thankful at first but then it turned into complaints. Wow, here is God providing for His people and yet all they can do is complain. God shows us in the Bible many times that He does not want us to complain. God loves us so much that He even protects us from ourselves through providing the ultimate sacrifice in Jesus the Christ. It really is amazing grace that we certainly do not deserve. It cannot be earned but God gives it to all of His children.
I guess we should not be surprised with our selfish ways. It is the worst part of being human. I think it is where we get so far from God. He made it rain bread to care for us and they ended up complaining about it. Why are we always in the way. You can choose to be a bridge or you can choose to be a barrier. Being a bridge to your own and for that matter another person's salvation is among the greatest blessings of all. We need to show our gratitude to our Lord. He suffered so you would not have to. God loves us so much and He always provides. I can honestly say that I want to be a bridge and not a barrier. I am tired of being a barrier and while I have lots and lots of work to do, I want to be the person that He wants me to be. We should all strive to be that person and know His love only gets better and better and stronger and stronger. Consider these verses about the raining of bread and try your best not to take so much for granted. Rather, thank Him each and every day. He loves you that much!
Psalm 78:23 Yet He had commanded the clouds above, and opened the doors of Heaven, Had rained down manna on them to eat, and given them of the bread of Heaven. Men ate angels' food ; He sent them food to the full.
Deuteronomy 8:16 Who fed you in the wilderness with manna, which your fathers did not know, that He might humble you and that He might test you, to do you good in the end.
Exodus 16:15 And Moses said, " This is the bread which The Lord has given you to eat."
John 6:31 "Our fathers ate the manna in the desert; as it is written, "He gave them bread from Heaven to eat".
God bless always.
