Jesus Christ and the Atheist

Updated on October 3, 2014

Jesus loved folks do you?

Love is the catalyst of being understood. Christ loved people for who they were. Do we? I really like to think of Jesus as one of us for his years walking and talking. Probably not a slob like one of us but a good partner. I do not think Jesus would be all that concerned if who he was eating with was an atheist. I am sure he would love them just the same as anyone. So the tax collector dude and the whore sat down next to Jesus. And he offered them some bread and some wine. And they talked into the late evening about love.

I love to walk, I have walked more than 2,000 miles within the Grand Canyon and just as many miles in the streets from Paris to Saigon to Seoul to Hanover to the Alps to the Mediterranean to Norway to Mexico City. Jesus walked all over in his land. Today walk with someone. Or perhaps just walk with yourself and meet people.

Streets of Saigon are a great place to walk, if you are into walking.

Walking puts you in constant contact with people, whereas a car insulates you from them.

Walking in the desert

I have been meditating for years now and I have never had a better meditation than hiking solo through the great Southwestern desert.

I am a poor example

Yes I do the Christian thing, but I do not fit with a religion. I preach but half the time the elders raise an eyebrow. But I love my peeps, do you?

I am not saying my way should be your way. I just want you to know that you should be happy in your way.

You should know that nobody is as good as you at being you and you are special. Sometimes I wish I was you. Troubles and wrong choices just mean that our choice of love is more a price than those who have not fallen can pay.

Think of your hardships as a higher price and therefor a better seat at the table. Where one is on a path that is not as hard as yours perhaps their time has yet to come or perhaps their time has already come. Let us work harder at not judging others in such a light.

A lot of territory.

Palms and fountains are a mainstay of the Desert.

Nothing like a walk in the cool of the eve.

The Next step in my athiesm

I do not believe in anything, so I am an atheist. I believe in everything so I am a non-theist. I am in love with love so I am a Christian. Or maybe to some that is not good enough. Or at least they could make that argument about me.

During Chemo therapy they freaked because my heart stopped and my lungs ceased their work. Obviously I did not freak cuz I be dead. But this was not the case, I just left for awhile to take a walk in a garden with a really cool dude, who told me, that all I gotta do is love.

After preaching for some years I realized that every single person has some atheist in them. "I will not believe until it is proven".

John 20:26-29New International Version (NIV)

26 A week later his disciples were in the house again, and Thomas was with them. Though the doors were locked, Jesus came and stood among them and said, “Peace be with you!”27 Then he said to Thomas, “Put your finger here; see my hands. Reach out your hand and put it into my side. Stop doubting and believe.”

28 Thomas said to him, “My Lord and my God!”

29 Then Jesus told him, “Because you have seen me, you have believed; blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.”

I am an athiest, but God sat down next to me and chatted me up.

Walking because you can.

Have you ever just gone walking in a foreign land?

See results

Just delightful music

There is no good and bad in my world, there just is.

I believe that we should judge our circumstance and others intentions. But only for discernment. Mano o' mano every worse person I see, I see me.

Imagine a world where we just see. And in that seeing see no grounds for contention, but rather grounds of commonality and where we might help. Imagine us just loving each other enough to celebrate, really celebrate diversity. Imagine the olive branch being carried by the dove to each heart and every mind. If mankind were to live is such harmony there would be no need for our desire and greed for all needs would be met. If it can be with one man then it surely can be with a world.

Imagine a well to do man asking not directions but how he can help.

Some say I am a poor man and I could do so much better.

Well I will give a nod to my brother and ask him if it is so.

Be kind.

Appreciation is much appreciated, especially when it's a mutual appreciation.

Aaargh! My Lady, if we are not strange to this world,,,,, well that would mean we are normal in it. Do not get me wrong I love it here. But there are two many dudes like the idiots that do not appreciate you. I would rather be weird than like them.

Oui' madame. I have never met a pretty girl that was not pretty on the inside. My older son tells me that there is a brokenesse with these women. And yet I have never seen him with an "ugly" girl. They are good and yes sometimes models (which in person look a little strange) But that is not the deal. The deal is Christ and the Atheist. We just stink. But that is awesome. Tonight I just delight in me. Weird OK. But I live with me, and no one else.

Well, it would be a sad day if love and truth ever ceased to blossom, now wouldn't it? I'm just saying that I'm not work of art myself, as far as outward beauty goes. No, that's not me being down on myself, just realistic. As for the rest of it, I have been judged for circumstances in life rather than for who I am, for my outward appearance during some of these times, and none of that really matters anyway because I never was one to believe in favoring only the outward appearances of people. Beautiful is beautiful, and most beauty comes from within.

Truth that. Love and truth will always blossom. I do know you though. Your writing is a gateway to all souls who consider it. Be you, be proud of you. For I and many others are.

Hahaha! You don't know me at all, but that's okay. I'm well aware of that fact already.

Ah what a wonderful truth. My momma used to say: "it is just as easy to love a rich girl as it is a poor girl". Her point was well taken. For we find truth that the outward is irrelevant. And then our next is better than the last.

Perhaps you would like to meet a model. Around your age. Then you would see that the outside is not what we need.

Much appreciated. I'm over it now anyway. Just some people are harder to love than others.

Shanmarie, my other lover. We are one in the spirit and I suffer with you. this gaul darned love thing sometimes just sucks raw freaking eggs. I loved a man on monday and he screwed me today. But I have loved a man for months/years and he came to me yesterday. I do not know all that is to know of the heart. But I damn sure do know that love is not to us from another, it is ours to own and no dirty rotten bastard walking out a frigging door can change our love. Our love is so much tighter and more powerful than the hearts of men. We love, they are lost and we keep on truckin and lovin and that is us. Feel it be it and know it. It is a piece of the almighty whatever that is, and therefor a piece of you.

I will think of you tonight and tell my loved ones to pray for you, and they will not question that we love you.

*sigh* I say love unconditionally, but what the hell do I know? Got through reading your nice little hub here with a "gee, that's a nice sentiment" kind of feeling and then spitefulness literally knocked on my front door and that sentiment went right out the door when he left.

Wow, I did that on purpose. (things never work the way I plan them)

WalterPoon the name is Love. You are a billion miles away from me. You have other theistic points of view. I cannot even speak your native language.

But you and I speak in compassion and caring and interest of things that make all lives more meaningful. Somehow we are one in the spirit, and I have searched the world over and only found one thing everywhere I went. Not hate, not wealth, not food, not even clothing or homes. The only "everywhere present" and supra thing I have found is love.

Ericdierker, I read a second time but I still didn't see the name. Is it in another hub?

Walter I have given such a name. The beauty of the supra-religion is that we all contain part of it within. Why would there be a master designer who did not give the Rasa of life?

QUOTE: "Some say I am a poor man and I could do so much better. Well I will give a nod to my brother and ask him if it is so."

Ericdierker, I will give a nod but instead of asking him if it is so, I would tell him that the meek shall inherit the earth. By the way, I am neither a Christian, nor an atheist. I believe in a supra-religion that believes that all religions are but one of the 6 or 7 blind men and the elephant. All are right and all are wrong. What is that supra-religion? I haven't given a name to it yet because the name that can be named is not the enduring and unchanging name. Conceived of as having no name, it is the Originator of heaven and earth; conceived of as having a name, it is the Mother of all things... whatever that means, LOL.

I love you too Sir Eric. You are like a dad to me and a big brother and a

uncle and a buddy and a pal and a girl watcher like me (lol) and an art lover (same thing, lol) a renaissance man, a man for all seasons ......

Well I must say this title really caught my eye and I have two personal theories in life:

      1. always keep an open mind and NEVER talk down to anyone and NEVER underestimate anyone either

      2. I always take the attitude that EVERYONE is smarter than me and in that way I can refer back to #1 and retain an open mind and learn - because when you listen to other people you learn and you also learn a lot about yourself.

      Amen.

Have a wonderful happy and healthy day and just as I am writing this to you the sun is coming out for the first time today and is that karma or what? lol

Just woke up from my night shift sleep at lake erie time 2:08pm with second cup of coffee and a delightful Vivaldi concerto
