Jesus Christ and the Atheist
Jesus loved folks do you?
Love is the catalyst of being understood. Christ loved people for who they were. Do we? I really like to think of Jesus as one of us for his years walking and talking. Probably not a slob like one of us but a good partner. I do not think Jesus would be all that concerned if who he was eating with was an atheist. I am sure he would love them just the same as anyone. So the tax collector dude and the whore sat down next to Jesus. And he offered them some bread and some wine. And they talked into the late evening about love.
I love to walk, I have walked more than 2,000 miles within the Grand Canyon and just as many miles in the streets from Paris to Saigon to Seoul to Hanover to the Alps to the Mediterranean to Norway to Mexico City. Jesus walked all over in his land. Today walk with someone. Or perhaps just walk with yourself and meet people.
Streets of Saigon are a great place to walk, if you are into walking.
Walking in the desert
I am a poor example
Yes I do the Christian thing, but I do not fit with a religion. I preach but half the time the elders raise an eyebrow. But I love my peeps, do you?
I am not saying my way should be your way. I just want you to know that you should be happy in your way.
You should know that nobody is as good as you at being you and you are special. Sometimes I wish I was you. Troubles and wrong choices just mean that our choice of love is more a price than those who have not fallen can pay.
Think of your hardships as a higher price and therefor a better seat at the table. Where one is on a path that is not as hard as yours perhaps their time has yet to come or perhaps their time has already come. Let us work harder at not judging others in such a light.
A lot of territory.
Palms and fountains are a mainstay of the Desert.
The Next step in my athiesm
I do not believe in anything, so I am an atheist. I believe in everything so I am a non-theist. I am in love with love so I am a Christian. Or maybe to some that is not good enough. Or at least they could make that argument about me.
During Chemo therapy they freaked because my heart stopped and my lungs ceased their work. Obviously I did not freak cuz I be dead. But this was not the case, I just left for awhile to take a walk in a garden with a really cool dude, who told me, that all I gotta do is love.
After preaching for some years I realized that every single person has some atheist in them. "I will not believe until it is proven".
John 20:26-29New International Version (NIV)
26 A week later his disciples were in the house again, and Thomas was with them. Though the doors were locked, Jesus came and stood among them and said, “Peace be with you!”27 Then he said to Thomas, “Put your finger here; see my hands. Reach out your hand and put it into my side. Stop doubting and believe.”
28 Thomas said to him, “My Lord and my God!”
29 Then Jesus told him, “Because you have seen me, you have believed; blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.”
I am an athiest, but God sat down next to me and chatted me up.
Walking because you can.
Have you ever just gone walking in a foreign land?
Just delightful music
There is no good and bad in my world, there just is.
I believe that we should judge our circumstance and others intentions. But only for discernment. Mano o' mano every worse person I see, I see me.
Imagine a world where we just see. And in that seeing see no grounds for contention, but rather grounds of commonality and where we might help. Imagine us just loving each other enough to celebrate, really celebrate diversity. Imagine the olive branch being carried by the dove to each heart and every mind. If mankind were to live is such harmony there would be no need for our desire and greed for all needs would be met. If it can be with one man then it surely can be with a world.
Imagine a well to do man asking not directions but how he can help.
Some say I am a poor man and I could do so much better.
Well I will give a nod to my brother and ask him if it is so.
Be kind.
