Jesus Christ's Birth - our "new" birth

And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father), full of grace and truth. (KJV) Jn 1:14

And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save His people from their sins. (KJV) Matt: 1: 21

Then said Jesus unto them again, Verily, verily I say unto you, I am the door of the sheep. All that ever came before me are thieves and robbers: but the sheep did not hear them. I am the door: by me if any man enter in he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture. The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill and to destroy: I AM COME THAT THEY MIGHT HAVE LIFE, AND THAT THEY MIGHT HAVE IT MORE ABUNDANTLY. (KJV) Jn 10: 7-10

I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd giveth His life for the sheep. (KJV) Jn 10: 11

I WAS DEAD! AND NOW I LIVE, AND LIVE ABUNDANTLY.

Because our Precious Lord Jesus, The Morning Star, The Son of God, came to this fallen world so that I/we could be saved by Him taking on the sins of this world. We are saved by believing in Him, by acknowledging and knowing, in our hearts, that HE is the door to the Father; That He is the Son of God. He came and conquered that old foe, Satan, and told us to be of good cheer, for He has overcome the world. Jn16 :33

He is the Life and the Resurrection. The Risen Messiah. Praise you Lord Jesus that through Your death and Your Resurrection we can be born again, in the Spirit, from above and become adopted sons and daughters of the Father. You opened the Gates of Heaven for us so that we may enter in clinging to the hem of your garment.

For "daily reflections" I read "My Utmost for His Highest" by Oswald Chambers. And I was struck by reflecting on todays reading that each and every time one of us comes to Jesus by being born again, in the spirit, it too, is a "miracle birth" of being born again from above. And I am sure on each occasion, there is a multitude of heavenly host praising God that another lost sheep has been found.

When I reflect on my "new birth" I feel my cup runneth over. All Glory to God the Father, The Son and the Holy Spirit. Jesus told us that He is the bread of life and when we come to Him we shall never hunger again and he who believes in Him shall never thirst. Jn 6: 35

Oh, how true this has proved to be! A more intimate, fullfillling relationship marked by faithfulness, love, kindness and mercy is surely not to be found elsewhere and His precious Word is as a lamp unto my feet.

Abba Father, thank You for sending us Your precious Son to redeem us. Thank You for all Your goodness. Goodness that is displayed in my life and when I err, You still manage to turn that to Good. Thank you for giving me life. I honour and praise you, in the Name of Your son, Jesus Christ.

Thank you lifegate.....I relish those quiet moments with the Lord when the heart is turned to flesh, is pierced by His Word, and something not previously "seen", is revealed. And the reverberations of the insight goes on for days. Praise God that it brings a true sense of humbleness back into my days.

      Hi Tamarajo,

I missed that one and confess I had not been aware of the Christmas/Hanukkah connection in the hub. Thank you for bringing my attention to it and it is the 2nd "wow" moment for me today. God of course, did know!

Inspirational devotion. His birth heralding the way to our miraculous birth. I also enjoyed the connection with John chapter 10 about the good shepherd that gave His life for the sheep. So fitting for this season of Christmas/Hanukkah. It was during the feast of Hanukkah that Jesus gave His discourse of being the "G0od Shepherd" Beautiful devotion bringing these two themes together.
