Judgement in the Name of The Lord
Why church oh why?
“Kick me some more while I am down I beg you!” This is not a statement that we note to proceed from the mouths of those who are down and out. Yet this is just what we do to them. We use such statements as “what you need to do is” and “what I would do” or “let me show you what you are doing wrong”. We pass these phrases as if the person cares what you would do within their situation or as if you have the right to utter any words at all. With these simple comments we condemn, crush, and punish the person for mistakes of the past all in the name of ‘help.’ If you have ever found yourself in this position you will understand what I am writing about. It seems in ‘your’ hour of need everyone is willing to help, or are they? I pose the idea to you that perhaps it is not help at all. It could just maybe be poisoned water from the hand of a friend.
Definition as follows:
To be judgmental is defined as
“A way of making ones self feel better, by hurting others. Usually caused by close mindedness, and a lack of manners. Feeling the right to judge, and doing so.”
~Urban Dictionary 2013
This is not a club
It is amazing who will allow themselves to be used by Satan to help facilitate the spirit of Judgment. You may say that you are a Christian and this does not apply to you. I do not mean to step on your toes in this fashion but stay with me so you can see where you could be wrong. I have found that Christians more then any other house the spirit of judgment. They claim to be doing things in the name of out Lord and Savior but they are from the truth. Satan is the “Father of lies” what better way to trick one then to say it is being done in the name of the Lord. I have seen this at work within the Church for years and guess what…it is still happening.
Whether you like it or not when you became a Christian you joined an army. You did not at any time join a country club. There is no membership dues, golf course, pool, special privileges afforded you related to the money you contribute. You cannot pick and chose the level of your membership you are a Soldier. God has a war going on and we are his foot soldiers marching to war. We are “in the world not of the world.” Therefore: there are creatures that this world belongs too. As a spirit being this in not my home so whether I have to fight, shoot, claw, bite or pray I am going to make it to heaven.
Take a look with spiritual eyes
The Spirit of Judgment is alive and well. It comes at you in many forms. Together, lets examine some of the ways in which the destructor of truth comes to attack the warriors of Christ.
1) Slips into your speech.
It is easy to lose control of that little thing located within your mouth called the tongue. In Proverbs 18:21 we are reminded that the power of life and death lies within the tongue. Satan sends his little workers to whisper negative things into our ears and before we even think about it what is happening? It is rolling off our tongue faster then we can comprehend. Without even realizing it we are speaking curses over others. God reminds us in Matthew 18: 18 that what we loose here on earth is loosed in heaven. Satan just needs that small instrument to do some extreme damage to the Army of God so bridle, guard, and control your tongue.
2) Wesel’s into your home.
It does not take much these days for Satan to make it into your home. Mother’s used to be home when their children arrived at the house after school. There was always adult present within the home. Parents guarded their children in every sense of the word. Now we find that television, videogames and the streets are raising children. It takes a double income for homes to function at the level they “think” they deserve and need. Satan can use the junk box knows as a television to crash into your children’s world and even your own. The comparison of “that’s not how mom does it or daddy would let me have it.” With those words comes division and soon on divisions tail is judgment. Proverbs 4:23 warns: “Above all else, guard your heart for everything you do flows from it.” (NIV)
3) Makes its home in your spirit.
The final step of judgment is for it to take up residence within your spirit. Each Christian has a spirit being within their body. The spirit is what is use to commune with The Heavenly Father. If this spirit within can be quenched then Satan can have his way. Soon the spirit being dies within causing people to use only their mind to live by. Judgment roots into the spirit and consumes a person and spreads its seeds to others within the form of bitterness, condemnation, gossip, and hatred. As we speak small phrases, cast eye glares, or ignore the pain of others we spread the seeds of this unwelcome guest within our heart. We are reminded in Proverbs 15:4 “a gentle tongue is a tree of life, but perverseness in it breaks the spirit.” (NIV)
Stacie Orrico "Instead"
The next time that you think you have the correct words for a person in need ask yourself, “is it helpful and encouraging?” Will this lift the person up or tare them down? I states earlier that you do not hear a person asked to be kicked while they are down but, how many times have we done so without thinking. Everyone has a story. So quickly we judge the man on the side of the road attempting to beg for money or the woman selling herself on the street corner. Maybe next time you could meet them where they are and show them the love of Christ in ACTION not judgment. Jesus did not condemn or judge the woman at the well instead he loved her. When he found a crowd that was going to stone a woman he told them whoever had no sin let them cast the first stone. There is a large price to pay for the spirit of judgment. I would hate to think that when you get to heaven God is going to ask you to give an account as to why you judges the smelly man or inappropriately dressed woman that attempted to enter your church, or worse informs you their blood is on your hands because you were the only witness of Christ they ever knew.
