Karl Lang--Disgraced Medium

Updated on February 6, 2017

Karl Lang (Newport, Wales) claimed that he could converse with spirits, and had been able to do so since the age of four. He also described having been under psychic attack in his home in 1999. He sure had been living an exciting life. If you believe these stories, that is.

Lang began practicing as a professional psychic medium in 2000, mainly in spiritualist churches. He later ran a consulting practice in private homes and his own home where he would communicate with the spirits and assist some family members in developing their own psychic powers.

He is quoted as saying, amongst other things, that he is a reincarnation of Jesus Christ. Which is a pretty good sign of a person crossing over from the paranormal to the just plain ab-normal side of the street.

The "Spirit Scale"

Lang told his clients that, with his help, they could develop through the levels of a "spirit scale". But to do so they had to act in way that went against normal social standards of behavior.

In 2012 clients revealed that Lang had convinced them that cavorting naked would increase the psychic power of their sessions.

It became clear that the 49-year-old Lang had no 'higher purpose' and was exploiting vulnerable women for his own gratification. The victim came forward when Lang claimed that physical contact would be the next step.

The offenses occurred between 2005 and 2009. Lang denied making any requests of a sexual nature but a jury found him guilty of making two women engage in sexual activity without consent. He has yet to be sentenced.

Lang was convicted on 12 counts and sentenced to two years. The prosecutor commented that "Karl Lang preyed on his victims in a callous and underhand manner."

I agree, taking advantage of people who are grieving and seeking comfort and understanding is very low.

It is very sad that anyone would take advatage of vulnerable people. When we approach a psychic we are extremly vulnerable and usually very open to suggestion. what Karl Lang did was unacceptable!!! I hope they throw the book at him!!! Shared, voted up, etc.
