“It is written, the man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word of God”

                                                                                      (Luke4: 1-4)

“Lord! There is no one else that we can go to! Your words give eternal life “

                                                                                     (John: 68)

“Your word is the truth. So let the truth make them completely yours. I am sending them into the world, just as you sent me. I have given myself completely for their sake, so that they may belong completely to the truth”

                                                                          (John: 17-19)

Listen and live God’s word is two sides of a coin. These two actions need and fulfill each other. Listen without live is like we eat some favorite foods but we don’t enjoy their tastes. Live without listen is careless due to we don’t know what we live for.

Jesus distastes these attitudes when he said: “Those people honour me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me, in vain do they worship me teaching human precepts as doctrines. You abandon the commandment of God and hold to human tradition”   (Mark 7:6-8)

God invited us not only to appreciate His word but to live with it and enjoy the peace and the happiness that come from it. Saint Peter discovered and

recognized the power of God’s word when he said to Jesus:

-“Lord! Your words give eternal life”

We had the wonderful and amazing feeling when we read the loving letters from the person who we cared and loved so much…Everybody also knows that God loved and cared for us so much more than we cared and loved each other, even He gave up his only Son who died for us on the cross. However, when we read the God’s word in the Bible; do we feel the sweetest love and holy taste from these words?

Do we find that the God’s words know us better than we know ourselves? Whether our understanding about God gives us the feeling of longing to God or become an obstacle to longing to God which I don’t know, but I can guaranteed that if you spend time everyday to listen and live the God’s words, it will lead you closer to God step by step, day by day, and you will find the truth, righteousness, peace and joy in your mind and heart.

Many people in this world chose a material life, they are proud of money, fame, power, greed, adultery, etc… We witnessed a lots of well-know people shattered their lives and their families’ lives by their greed, by their adultery when their crimes went public or were revealed accidently. So now more important than ever we should need to listen and live God’s word, we need God’s help to against our temptation, our weakness.

Mother Theresa of Calcutta once said that; “A quick way to strengthen your wisdom and understanding is reading the Bible in your daily life to find out about” what God wants us to do his work and get help from Him who always love us with his unconditional love”
