Lenten Journey - Day 5

Updated on February 16, 2016

This morning I woke up to a trashy weather day. First we had snow and then freezing rain. I looked out the window this morning and went back to bed. I got up later and left when it had changed to just rain. It was still icy so when I was saying prayers on the way to work (yes I like to pray and drive) I asked for a little extra watching over me and other drivers. Every morning I try to pray for friends, for work, for my church and everyone I know in need

Sometimes I forget to pray on my way to work - even though I almost do it everyday it is easy to get sidetracked. Sometimes by traffic, sometimes by songs on the radio. Life is like that, so easy to get sidetracked into doing something else and forgetting about taking a moment to talk to God or study our Bible.

I call those moments devil moments - I think he likes to trash my thinking with something else than praying.

Becoming a Prayer Warrior

How to become a Prayer Warrior

1. Pray without ceasing. – 1 Thessalonians 5:17 ESV - Might sound hard to do but try, you might be surprised. I pray when I drive, shower, in the morning, before bed and anytime I think about it during the day.

2. Find a specific time that works for you to meet with God every day. I already told you my times.

3. WRITE IT DOWN! WRITE IT DOWN! WRITE IT DOWN! This is best thing to do - this way you can remember who you are praying for. Once a day, take the time to write it down.

4. Pray with other believers.

I desire then that in every place the men should pray, lifting holy hands without anger or quarreling -1 Timothy 2:8 ESV

Prayer chains, prayer groups, and church and great times to get with others for prayer.

5. Don’t leave anything out.

Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. –Philippians 4:6 ESV

I tell God everything, even though I know he knows I still like to repeat it to Him!!!!

Scripture on Prayer

Matthew 7:7Ask, and it will be given to you seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.

Matthew 21:22 And whatever you ask in prayer, you will receive, if you have faith.”

Mark 11:24 Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.

John 14:13-14 Whatever you ask in my name, this I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you ask me anything in my name, I will do it

My apologies

I feel like my Hub today is a little flat. I am sorry. My friend here at work is having a family crisis. I am trying to pray and write and they are not meshing in my brain well. So my dear friends, if you don't mind, as I said write down, so I am going to write my prayer here.

Dear Father in Heaven:

Be with us all today and we go through our day of ups and downs. Be with those in need right now God, be with my friend, B as she enters again this family crisis. Be with her, her husband and daughter. And may you lift up her son-in-law from the depths of the despair that he is in. Take care of them all God. Be with those on my prayer chain and those traveling today.

Thank you God for everything, thanks for being with me. I love you, Amen
