History always has something to teach us

As a student of history, more specifically ancient history, I have found that there are numerous lessons to be learned to help modern society make its way through life. History is made up of men and women who have walked the same paths as we do today.

Solomon warned us in Ecc. That ‘there is nothing new under the sun’ and he was right. In the 3,000 years since Solomon made that observation, we can still say the same thing

Even political attitudes do not change

I have been reading a good book holding some great excerpts from the different works of Bruce Catton, the historian. In the section called Sowing the Wind we find these words:

It was an ominous promise. The date was May 19, 1856, and though there was still a little time left it was running out fast, and angry words might make it run faster. Yet angry words were about the only kind anyone cared to use these days.Men seemed tired of the reasoning process. Instead of trying to convert one’s opponent it was simpler to denounce them, no matter what unmeasured denunciation might lead to (pg. 35)

This seems to be the attitude held today by most liberals and democrats. Instead of working to convince those that disagree with them that the former are correct and the latter are wrong, they use their positions to bully the latter with unmeasured denunciation.

Discussion and reasoned debate is a tact that has been left in the dust, as both the liberals and democrats hide from the fact that they may wrong.

Holding on to evil

Then there is the issue where many democrats have failed to learn from the mistakes of their predecessors. The South took a calculated risk and decided that owning other human beings in less than stellar positions was good and they sought to expand that attitude to new territories. Bruce Catton’s following words were recorded in the same chapter:

The South, he said (Sen. Sumner), ‘was guilty of a depraved longing for a new slave state, the hideous offspring of such a crime.’ Force had been used, he declared, ‘in compelling Kansas to this pollution’ (pg. 36).

And the liberal and democrat have been walking the same path. They have adopted several evils and made the behaviors associated with those practices seem normal, a right, and not wrong.

They seem to forget that the lesson that the South learned in its defeat in the subsequent Civil War. Siding with evil is a no win situation no matter how popular the idea may be.

The Bible gives us in 2 Tim. 3:13 the following message

But evil men and impostors will proceed from bad to worse, deceiving and being deceived.

The actions of the liberal and the democrats are going from bad to worse as they ignore God’s 3 standards- right and wrong, morality and immorality, and good and evil. They have embraced the latter of each standard trying to elevate it to acceptable standards.

The good news is that the Bible does not say that good people cannot do anything to stop that downward trend. While evil men go from bad to worse, good people still have the means to thwart those actions and right the sinking ship

Woe to the liberals and democrats

While the Bible does not point specifically at the liberals and democrats, it is very clear to what will happen to those who do the above behaviors. Two verses found in Isaiah speak clearly to this issue, even though both the major and minor prophets of the Old Testament give clear warnings for the people of modern society

Isaiah 30:1

“Woe to the rebellious children,” declares the Lord, “Who execute a plan, but not Mine, And make an alliance, but not of My Spirit, In order to add sin to sin;

Isaiah 5:20

Woe to those who call evil good, and good evil; Who substitute darkness for light and light for darkness; Who substitute bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter!

While all democrats and liberals are not guilty of the support of evil, there are enough that do. They need reminding of the words of God which are not limited to the ancient people of Israel. They apply to all men and women of all generations.

I am also aware that there are many republicans and conservatives who do the same thing yet it is the democrats and liberals that who use the courts, the public arena and other official outlets the most to drive their new evil agenda and undermine the the legitimate laws of the land.

Lessons ignored

The past sends everyone clear warnings and many lessons. Yet for some reason modern society has become very arrogant and feels that the past has nothing to offer us.

The Bible too, sends us clear messages of what happens to those who side with evil over good, yet again, members of modern society fail to see their significance and relevance.

Most put those biblical warnings down to the ramblings of myth makers, sheepherders or the attempt by ancient priests and elites to capture control and power over a defenseless people

Today the liberal and democrat are the ones who are fighting for control and power over others. They fight for the establishment of rights for the evil doer over the rights of the loyal and good citizen.

They use the courts to force their agenda on others, often overturning the will of the people by using like minded judges to get their way. Or they cause issues at election time often refusing to concede after seeing the results that declare they did not win.

Finally, they fail to uphold the laws of the land by refusing to understand the difference between legal and illegal terminology. They try to rewrite the narrative to fit their agenda using terms that do not apply.

This behavior makes a mockery of the laws of the land, the legal system and keep their own people, their neighbor, vulnerable to dangerous situations

Some final words

To solve this issue means getting back to God’s standards of declaring what is truly right and what is truly wrong, what is truly moral and truly immoral and then what is truly good and what is truly evil.

There is no alternative but to get back to God’s definitions of those standards and stick with them. That is the only way America will survive. As it stands, if things continue to progress the way they are, we may see another civil war.

If that happens America cannot stand for as Lincoln said, ‘a house divided cannot stand...’ Jesus said it first in Mark 3:34 & 36. Then, if American continues to ignore God and side with his enemies, then America is not going to have a very promising future.

Biblical history has shown that those who side with sin, do not last either.

Right and the democrats continue to prove every day that they offer no leadership skills, no plan to keep america a great country and so on. They only want power and they will use evil to get it

This is definitely a great word of warning in due season.

The battle we see going on in America really isn't a matter of politics--it's a battle of good versus evil.

The Democrats have done nothing in 3 years except attack, undermine, and try to unseat President Trump. What some voters don't realize, however, is that Trump isn't the only target: WE are the target, and Trump is just in the way. Liberals are bent on taking power and destroying anyone who speaks against them.

Our culture has allowed gay marriage, abortion, transgenderism, and the like.....for a country that claims to be 70% Christian, we have a problem here. Christ followers need to speak up and not roll over and play dead.
