Let's pledge to live life

Let’s Pledge to live Life

One vote can change a nation,
One sunbeam lights a room
One candle wipes out darkness,
One laugh will conquer gloom.

One step must start each journey.
One word must start each prayer.
One hope will raise our spirits,
One touch can show you care.

One life can make a difference,
You see, it's up to you!” [Anonymous]

Yes it’s up to us, life like time goes on .We are just like paper boats floating on the waves of time. The boat does not know what will happen a year after to it, it does not know what will happen to it tomorrow. The fact is it does not know, may be next moment a tide will come and crash it to pieces. But then it knows that this moment is it’s and it is on top of wave enjoying the ride.

We plan for future and work for it. But just watch in the process, if you are not losing the small moments of your life. Create opportunity to enjoy life with your loved ones. This moment today you are living is a special moment, celebrate it, enjoy it to the fullest, as it will never come back again .

The butterfly counts not months but moments and has time enough” [ Rabindranath Tagore]

We need to constantly work on our relationship. Sometimes because of various work may be at office, or settling down at home because you are in a new place, working for a better career, working on technology you just love or surfing net, reading magazines ,watching TV etc which takes away our so much attention that we forget that may be our loved ones need our time too. And trust me they don’t need much, a time genuinely for them. Genuinely does not mean watching movie together but you are thinking something else, going to restaurant but your attention is on others tables or any of your office tension lingering in your mind.

We have to consciously work to create the feeling of togetherness. Examples could be genuine hug or caressing other person, best could be pick up activity like singing, dancing, swimming, travelling or walking and do it together. When you are doing it you are actually enjoying the activity together. Remember enjoying together is the base of a healthy relationship.

When I hear somebody sigh, 'Life is hard,' I am always tempted to ask, 'Compared to what?' – [Sydney J. Harris]

Live life with no excuse and love with no regrets. When you have 10 reasons to cry, just broaden your outlook and you will find 100 reasons to be happy.

Arthur Ashe winner of 1975 Wimbledon, had millions of fans all over the world. He was a great player .

In 1988, Ashe found that he had contracted HIV during blood transfusion during his heart surgery. The news was kept private until 1992, when it leaked. Entire fan community of his was in grief.

Many asked him, in despair, why did God choose him? To this Ashe’s reply was-

All over the world some million teenagers aspire to become tennis players. Out of these million may be a hundred thousand reach to some sort of proficiency. Of them only a few thousand play in some circuit and only a hundred or so play the grand slam. Finally only two reach the final of Wimbledon. When I was standing with the trophy of Wimbledon in my hand I never questioned God “Why Me?” And now what right do I have to ask God “Why Me?”

Ashe died in 1993

When you live life to fullest you will not regret death. Life drifts on , do not postpone to live life on tomorrow. You know, the I will do it fable-

I think I will enjoy when I grow up, when my studies are over, when I get settled in job, once I get married, once I have a kid, let kids grow up a little, let the school for kids finish, let the kids grow up…

And it continues, till you realize that life has actually passed by…

Here is a story-

An old man went to hospital and was informed that he will not be able to live more than a month. The man came back to house and told his wife and son about it. Everyone was so sad except for the old man. On seeing their grief the man told them, “Even I am sad just like both of you, but the reason is different. You guys are sad because I cannot live more than a month and I am sad because now when death stands in front of me, I realize that I never lived .If I were to get this life again I would have lived it differently. Happy part is I still have a month and I will surely live it.”

We all might be not as lucky to have a month time, before death knocks our door, so whatever time we have left in our life let’s pledge to live it.
