Life-No Do Overs

Updated on April 27, 2011

Do Overs

Remember when you where a child and playing a game and you lost or when things didn't go your way you could just call out "do over". Did you ever play a board game as a kid and just quit. Sure you have. Even now when you play a game on the computer and your avatar gets killed or you lose at some other computer game, what do you do? You just start over. Play again. Wouldn't it be nice to do that in life. It seems most days anymore I would like to have a Do Over button. Yes I admit in the last two years things have been so bad I had thoughts of ending it all. especially if it would be as easy as shouting out "Do Over.". Yesterday was one of those days. It started out OK but went downhill fast it seemed everything that could go wrong went wrong. Money was a big part of it, or lack of money. I know the fact that I am unemployed and have been for two years also adds to the problem, but just look at the news 9% of Americans everywhere are in the same boat. It would be nice to have a "Do Over" button that we could push when things go wrong, but alas we don't. My saving grace is my faith. My one hold fast thought is not " What would Jesus do" but rather " What did Jesus do" . At any given time from the Last Supper till Crucifixion he had the one supreme opportunity to call a Do Over. Everyone around him thought he should followers and non-believers. It would have been easy for Him. No one would have thought bad of him. It was almost expected, but if he could go through what he did, feel the pain and humiliation of the cross and not stop the process how can I. His only thought was about us. His sacrifice was to ease our pain not his. Life is not a Do Over. We are told we learn from its' experience. Suicide is not the answer it only creates more problems for others. Easter is a time of reflection and a time of re-birth. Jesus died for us don't trivialize it by thoughts of ending it all. In life there are no do overs.Think thoughts of life instead. Sure it can get worse, but it can get better.

Every moment in life brings a lesson and those hard moments make you stronger and better. Keep up the faith and may God keep guiding your path!

l didn´t know the expression ´do over´ but l can sure identify with the concept. Much of my life l would like to erase and draw it again.

i´m so glad for the last part of your hub , remembering what Christ did for us has helped me many times through depression. He promised there is a better life to come and l believe him John chapter 17 verse 3

Thank the Lord for his saving Grace and I guess his grace is somewhat like a do-over..if we believe it and take it to heart. Life puts out some stuff..and in our flesh we cry out why..but God says rest, my grace is sufficient..thank you for a nice hub.

      God Bless,
