Life is Full of Pain

Updated on April 29, 2012

Sometimes, life seems like it is full of pain. How can we have more joy? Reading the bible helps. Thinking on good things help. How we deal with pain is very important. Some people are self destructive and end up making decisions that cause even more pain. I know that I have done this in the past. We are human and God knows that we are not perfect. He made us and loves us. Here are some bible scriptures to ponder. I hope you like them.

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law. Galatians 5:22-23

Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, Rejoice. Phillipians 4:4

Joy comes after suffering

For his anger is but for a moment,
and his favor is for a lifetime.
Weeping may tarry for the night,
but joy comes with the morning.

Psalm 30:5

A merry heart doeth good like a medicine: but a broken spirit drieth the bones.

Proverbs 17:22

By prayer

Job 33:26

He prays to God and finds favor with him, he sees God's face and shouts for joy; he is restored by God to his righteous state.

By trusting him

Psalm 28:7

The LORD is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in him, and I am helped. My heart leaps for joy and I will give thanks to him in song.

You will show me the path of life; in Your presence is fullness of joy, at Your right hand there are pleasures forevermore. Psalm 16: 11

Rejoice in the Lord, O you [uncompromisingly] righteous [you upright in right standing with God]; for praise is becoming and appropriate for those who are upright [in heart].
Psalm 33: 1

Sing to Him a new song; play skillfully [on the strings] with a loud and joyful sound.
Psalm 33: 3

May the God of your hope so fill you with all joy and peace in believing [through the experience of your faith] that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound and be overflowing (bubbling over) with hope. Romans 15: 13

Delight yourself also in the Lord, and He will give you the desires and secret petitions of your heart. Psalm 37: 4
