Live Faith in Our Imperfect World
Changing Our Focus in an Imperfect World
Living in Our Own Skin
Living faith in our skin complicates when distractions attempt to impede the journey. Many live a life of faith aware of the disdain for their position. The brokenness of an imperfect world wants to pull our focus to the negative. While I can be part of that negativity, I try to lead with a firm hope to limit my self-absorbed reactions.
Stop lying to yourself, and admit most people want to shine in a favorable light, yet, deny the light that makes them shine. I suppose this “limelight” attraction accounts for the grave misinterpretation of “being the change.”
While I struggle, I pray my change comes from within and pours from a faith-driven heart ready to serve and defend with Christlike love. Foul morning breath remnant of the previous day’s choices is distasteful, but, becomes fresh when I realize no matter how crazy good or bad this day is, You God, want to use me in it!
“Thank you, Jesus!” Thank you for trusting me with one chance to serve you better than I have. Don’t use His name in vain as an attention seeker, for real try God!
Where we don’t understand every scary worldview, God shows us the truth, at least when we’re open to it. This place we live in is not our home I can assure you. We can end up there together if we help one another by limiting involvement in the self-deprivation of this world. So, we should be grateful for those seconds of morning breath and the chance for a new purpose each day.
Love Yourself so You Can Love Others
Waking up Desiring God
I admit to the occasional self-indulgence of chocolate or the uncontrolled passion when reacting to an offense. Weakness runs rampant when amongst the stupidity of humans, including myself in that social category. The truth is, my skin crawls when I don’t understand the why’s of the world and the ways we fall trancelike by its allure.
As a work in progress, I despise much of our reality but realize the need to stay still focusing on Christ! Knowing that while we fall short of His likeness, we can wake up desiring God. Meeting life’s trials with Him gives every hurdle a purpose. Lifting one another is a feel-good motion much better than pulling down. Still, it’s hard to find the uplifting spirit in the social climate we live.
You may find this position pathetic, but, if I am nothing else, I am honest in my reflection of self. I live and believe in God, who has power beyond anything we can get ahold of in this world.
If you woke up breathing, ask, “How do you want me to use my breath?” Okay, some days we may need to go back to sleep a few times to get it right, but things become clear if we keep our focus on Him.
SELF Equals FLESH When Human
Take a quick look at that word SELF. Now reverse it. If we add an H, which is the first letter of the word human. What do you see? FLESH!
There we have it, adding our humanness and getting things turned around gets us our imperfect flesh.
- Superficial confidence is a mask for our imperfections as we react to an imperfect world. The good news is we aren’t in control of our chaos. God is in control!
- Where we understand we don’t have to add to the mob of chaotic upheaval, we must recognize our imperfections. We need to let go and go at the same time.
I will try and explain.
- To let go is to release your formed judgments, your hurts, and anger. Releasing your lack of understanding and remembering to breathe.
- Trying to live without the immediacy of reaction is tough. We can lose it, and probably will, but allow others to love you because none of us deserves it. Unworthy, we are loved by God and through others.
We could list the multitudes of ways that we harm, act righteous, or fake it as opposed to humble surrender and denial of self. As people, we're trying to move from the discombobulating agendas. Denying truth and following blindly without discernment sets us on the path of working for separation. The hidden agenda of sin is to cause separation from God. I wish for our world to move from sin, die to self, and give joy more airtime.
No one Wants to Separate from Perfection Where Two or Three are Gathered
Fighting the Flesh is Useless Rather Work to Come Together
Fighting the flesh is useless. We don’t fight flesh and blood but rather the forces of evil formed against us. Crimson is our color; it flows beneath the covering of our skin. All people bleed whether alone or with a unified reaction to sudden impalement of harsh words or physical assault.
Jesus bore the pain of sin as nails thrust into His hands. How horrid the reality when evil spews from our mouths with the immediate remembrance that we are part of destructive piercing.
A desiring heart seeks surrender at His feet. He sets our path in discipleship for His purpose. Where we understand His blood covers and recognize the flesh impedes we know His Grace is sufficient.
We seek to deny self in this imperfect world while living for the next, aware that while we remain in the flesh, we are victim and victimizer of its limitations.
Seeing the world is disheartening. However, we can’t lose sight of the miracles of the brokenness. God’s miracles are present each day and worth everything.
Look for the light in the darkness it’s there, keep looking up!
Help us to see the light in the darkness
One Person Doing Something Good
One person on a team can create a change in the outcome. One could take the knee for or against in a situation. They could shine a light on themselves and their understanding as opposed to the truth. React in pain to a personal attack. Spew words or act a fool in the heat of a moment. All humans tend to do a version of these things that separate. What if we protect from the fire, love in the battles, heal in a mess? Leave your comfort zone and enter the construction zone. Step from your box and get busy!
Pick the right team!
Because I Love Jesus
If you want to call me a wimp, you would be wrong I have been broken, and strengthened by a living faith in a broken world. I step out whenever I can sharing His message because I love Jesus!
I find the worldview complex and don't like it much of the time. However, life is fabulous I enjoy it. I love my family, friends, and people in general. My humor meter is good, and I'm adventurous to a point, but I love God first, in Him, I trust.
Perfection isn’t my skill set, but in His eyes, I am doing okay. “Thank you, Jesus, I praise you as your perfectly flawed servant from an imperfect world.”
Love the way He loves
Promises in His Word Trusting in Faith
“The end of things is near. Therefore be alert and of sober mind that you may pray. Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers a multitude of sins. Offer hospitality to one another without grumbling. Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms. If anyone speaks, they should do so as one who speaks the very work of God. If anyone serves, they should do so with the strength God provides, so that in all things God may be praised through Jesus Christ. To him be the glory and the power forever and ever. Amen”
John 3:16 (NIV) For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.
It states later in John 16:33 (NIV) I tell you these things so that in me you may have peace. In this world, you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.
We all Struggle in This Imperfect World
