Love, Mother Of Unity and Peace

Updated on July 13, 2015

The Beauty Of Love

With cough my cover is blown

they will turn and see my dark gown

It's no surprise

maybe they admire my Hijab

Or rather my gown

so why frown?

Let them have at it

let them feed their eyes

I wonder what make me so different

is it my Religion or Culture?

Is it the false stigma that goes with it

if only they knew how I condemn those who kill in Gods name

Those hooligans who aim to topple Islam's name

Islam is Love, Islam is Unity, Islam is Peace

So please, don't judge me; don't fear

for I am human just like you

Let us not judge ourselves by our dress codes

by our ways of talking or preaching

By out ways of eating

by our ways of praying

for we share one sky

we share one sun

east or west; we share the same stars

the air we breathe is the same

More importantly; we worship the same God

even though we have different values and ways of doing so

Be it Christians, Muslims or Jews

The Bible, The Holy Quran and the Torah all have similar teachings

That we all believe in a supernatural being

well, that's the beginning of faith for all of us

Then there is no need for fear

no need for hate

For we are all created by him

and we are all similar in special ways

I have heard about India consisting of large number of casts and it's really a vivid and solid example as to what the world is supposed to be like in general. Thanks for seconding this article I appreciate it. @Dr Pran Rangan

India is a country, where everyone has absolute freedom to practice their own religion and culture. A person, who will visit India, will find how peacefully people of various religions live with each other; their cultures are well amalgamated in the social fabric.

A very good poem promoting religious harmony and tolerance. Voted up! Thanks a lot.

Well, I'm Pagan, so I'm pretty sure we don't worship the same God... though I have no problems with that being polytheistic. We get that a bit in my religion, too, so I can relate. This is a beautiful poem, and very touching. Hate often comes from fear, and often from fear of what is different. It doesn't have to be that way, as you explained. Nice work.
