"I Will Be In Your House Today"

Fire on The Mountain?
Fire on The Mountain?

Run Away From Danger.

Luke 19:1-10.

In peaceful cum ordinary circumstances, roadblocks are usually employed by the police or road transport authorities;or any other body authorized for either long or short term purposes. They are commonly and prominiently employed in war zones , and are usually staffed with armed soldiers to achieve a durable result.

During protests and riotious moments, both police and demonstrators sometimes rely on roadblocks to achieve their aim or calm the situation.

Great men and women of God who printed their names on God's marble, waded through stubborn satanic roadblocks and hinderances which nearly rendered their journey and life-long efforts, but like Zaccheus, many insisted they must see Jesus and the promised heaven.

Zacchaeus was one of them , in his case, it was not only a confirmed spiritual roadblock, but physical blockage orchestrated by his size and height as well as the multitude that thronged to see the messiah. Zacchaeus beat the devil by refusing to bow down to any physical or spiritual impediment. This bold step earned him the attention of the Lord and an untimely visit. Speed and or haste, is all that the Lord needed from Zacheaus and all of us,for this visitation to bear fruit. Zaccheaus met the demand and bagged a historic visit form the Lord

It must be pertinent to note that,

Jesus did not beg Zacheaus to come down.

Jesus did not give him the chance to make a choice

Jesus did give him the chance to procrastinate

Jesus did no say Zachaeus if you like or when ever you like you should come down.

Jesus did not Just say come down Zaccheaus for I amy be in your house today ,but” make haste.”

Jesus did not ask questions or seek his opinion whether he will like to come down or not.

Jesus did not say, brave Zac now that you have seen me, remain there for your desire to see me has been met.

Jesus knew that seeing Him alone without concrete steps to follow Him, will not give the rich man the desired change.

Jesus went straight to the point and beckoned on Zac to "MAKE HASTE" and come Down

And when Jesus came to the place, he looked up, and saw him, and said unto him, Zacchaeus, make haste, and come down; for to day I must abide at thy house.Luke 19:5

And he made haste, and came down, and received him joyfully.Luke 19:6

Make Haste, Come Out Of Your Evil Practices.

I have Seen Your Zeal, come down now.
I have Seen Your Zeal, come down now.

We are going to see Zaccheus haste for salvation in three major segments

Make Haste For Salvation

Make Haste For Restitution

Make Haste for Revival and Complete Turn Around.

Make Haste For Salvation

Luke 19:2-6,,13,16,Gen 12;1-6, Gen 19 ;15-17 , Heb 4;7,Psalms 95:8

Luke 19:2-6 And, behold, there was a man named Zacchaeus, which was the chief among the publicans, and he was rich. And he sought to see Jesus who he was; and could not for the press, because he was little of stature. And he ran before, and climbed up into a sycomore tree to see him: for he was to pass that way. And when Jesus came to the place, he looked up, and saw him, and said unto him, Zacchaeus, make haste, and come down; for to day I must abide at thy house. And he made haste, and came down, and received him joyfully.

Zacheus refused to be subdued by his stature nor the crowd pressing and surging forth for the Lord Jesus, even though the press was hard , he found another avenue to see the Lord.. His search for a glimpse of the master was from a sincere heart and that was recorded by the Lord,

His problem was immidiately solved as the compassionate Lord reached out for him. Same goes for our work and endeavours in the service of the Lord, God who sees in secret, rewards openly[Mathew 6;2-4]

Abraham did not waste time answering God's call, he made haste and abandoned the idols of his father house and followed God's instructions to head for a destination he knew nothing about--[Gen 12 ;1-6]

After a little cold feet, Lot made haste to escape from the burning coals of Sodom and Gommorah

“ Again, he limiteth a certain day, saying in David, To day, after so long a time; as it is said, To day if ye will hear his voice, harden not your hearts.” Heb 4;7

Harden not your heart, as in the provocation, and as in the day of temptation in the wilder [Psalms 95:8]

Make haste to escape the day of Judgement, make haste to escape the wrath of God and the waiting hell, make haste to be saved like Zacheus . Hear the voice of the Lord calling today “And when Jesus came to the place, he looked up, and saw him, and said unto him, Zacchaeus, make haste, and come down; for to day I must abide at thy house. And he made haste, and came down, and received him joyfully.- Luke 19:5-6 That singular move earned him salvation . Why not make haste and come down from that sinful but height you have climbed in the world?.

Make Haste For Restitution..

2 Corinthians 13:5, Luke 19;8,Exodus 22;1,Mathew 18;11

There is the urgent need for all believers to go back to the beginning of their Christain journey to faithfully x-ray themselves in order to acertain whether they are still in the faith. This is because many aging believers have shunned the teaching on restitution . “Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves. Know ye not your own selves, how that Jesus Christ is in you, except ye be reprobates? 2 Corinthians 13:5,

Shortly after his conversion, Zacheus saw the great need for restitution to be made for the numerious wrongs he did to people. He made haste to do his restitution--

And Zacchaeus stood, and said unto the Lord; Behold, Lord, the half of my goods I give to the poor; and if I have taken any thing from any man by false accusation, I restore him fourfold. And Jesus said unto him, This day is salvation come to this house, forsomuch as he also is a son of Abraham”.Luke 19;8-9.

Make Haste For Revival And Complete Turn Around.

Luke 19:6-10 . Mathew 24;48 Luke 19 ;8, Mathew 18;11.Luke 19;5

You Must Be In A Hurry.

To Be Safe
To Be Safe

Make Haste For Revival And Complete Turn Around.

Luke 19:6-10 . Mathew 24;48 Luke 19 ;8, Mathew 18;11.Luke 19;5

Luke 19:6-10 And he made haste, and came down, and received him joyfully. And when they saw it, they all murmured, saying, That he was gone to be guest with a man that is a sinner. And Zacchaeus stood, and said unto the Lord; Behold, Lord, the half of my goods I give to the poor; and if I have taken any thing from any man by false accusation, I restore him fourfold. And Jesus said unto him, This day is salvation come to this house, forsomuch as he also is a son of Abraham. For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost. Luke 19:6-10 .

That day the great Lord wined and dined in the house of this once great sinner but now saved, like every other person in the world today, Jesus told Zaccheus, He would prefer to be in his house. The acceptance of Zacheus to host Jesus, his repentance and restitution of the wrong heap of wealth he acquired, brought revival into his heart, a complete turn around from the past was also seen in his actions and confessions.

“ And Zacchaeus stood, and said unto the Lord; Behold, Lord, the half of my goods I give to the poor; and if I have taken any thing from any man by false accusation, I restore him fourfold” .Luke 19:8.

Even though there was the multitude, the press cum pressure mounted on him ,his miniature stature, his height and inability to withstand the roadblocks mounted on him by satan, Zacheus was able to undermine all ,brushed aside the frustrating roadblocks, created an avenue to see Jesus. His efforts were not in vain, he saw Jesus and Jesus saw Him and that made the difference in his life and the .

“And when Jesus came to the place, he looked up, and saw him, and said unto him, Zacchaeus, make haste, and come down; for to day I must abide at thy house”. Luke 19:5. Be the Zacheus of today, as you hear the word of God, harden not you heart, make haste and follow the Lord.

Ever seen somebody or people in a haste ?,trying to board a plane, running to catch the train, the bus, the lessons and lectures that arevery important to them or in a haste to be at the venue of the interview because of the role such an appointment will play in their lives.?, Or where the police is beating roadblocks to catch the criminal or, the ambulance vehicles swerving left and right to beat the traffic and save the life of the accident victims ?, or where a husband is taking the wife to the hospital’s labour room, or where someone is running away from danger?.

The type of haste made in these instances cannot be compared with the type of hast which you are expected to make for the salvation of your soul, which you have seen it’s unfortunate eternal destination. You must make haste for the salvation of your soul now before it is too late.
