Manna in the Morning
For the bread of God is he which cometh down from heaven, and giveth life unto the world. John 6:33
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. John 1:1
Sometimes I feel so hungry for God. The word of God is like the morning manna that they were provided with in the desert. We can have it every morning and feel energized by the word of God. It will spiritually sustain us for the day. You know how experts say that breakfast in the most important meal of the day? Our spirits need nourishment just like our physical bodies do.
malnourishment - not having enough food to develop or function normally
undernourishment hunger, hungriness - a physiological need for food; the consequence of food deprivation. Sometimes we get run down spiritually and we might not be able to function at our full potential. This is a sign that we need to rest and meditate on the word of God. Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.
But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.
And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper. Psalm 1:1-3
Verse 3 is so poetic and flowing, "like a tree planted by the rivers of water". I love this! It makes me think of all the time I spent by the river growing up. Even now when I am buy a river and the soft waves are rippling It makes me think of cleansing. When the wave hits the shore and goes back it seems like it goes back new.
Start a new day everday and try not to forget the spiritual breakfast.
