Ministry on 18 Wheels

Jerry started in the trucking industry in 1978 and has spent most of his life on the open road as a Trucker Evangelist and Christian Author.

Evangelism Trucker Style

It was in the early 90"s that God showered tremendous blessings at truck stop revivals that I shall never forget.

One example occurred at a Jesus Jamboree held by Chaplain Kris Tackitt in Milton, Pennsylvania. She had asked me to preach for her and the Holy Spirit confirmed my need to go. My dispatcher scheduled a run shipping “just-in-time” automotive freight from Michigan to New Jersey and back again. This would normally be a grueling run, driving close to seven hundred miles a day.

I found that I was blessed with amazing stamina throughout the entire three-week period. I would arrive every night at the truck stop and preach under the tent, this included all day Saturday and Sunday.

One particular Saturday, God had me preach a message about Eagles.

I was unaware at the time, but drivers informed me that a pair of Eagles had flown down from the mountain and circled the area while I was preaching.

The Eagles Appeared

The drivers testified that they circled during the entire sermon.

When the sermon ended, the eagles drifted off and a tractor-trailer came in behind me. The loud noise of the air breaks being applied caught my attention.

I remember glancing up to see one of the largest murals of an eagle that was painted on the side of the truck.

I pointed to a driver and said, “I can’t keep preaching until I deliver this message from the Holy Ghost to you sir, God says He sees your broken heart and feels your pain. If you will put Him first you can have your home back."

My sermon had been on: Psalms 103:1-5 Bless the LORD, O my soul: and all that is within me, bless his holy name. Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits: Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases; Who redeemeth thy life from destruction; who crowneth thee with loving kindness and tender mercies; Who satisfieth thy mouth with good things; so that thy youth is renewed like the eagles.

I had never met this man, and knew nothing about him. I spoke with the man after the sermon and found out that he had left his truck with thoughts of suicide because his wife had filed for a divorce and his home was in foreclosure.

Months later, the driver called me at home to inform me that he had held on to the “word” that God gave me to deliver and he had become a preacher after his home had been restored.

To God be the Glory!

This is a prime example of evangelism stretching forth through the power of Christ.

He said, “Preacher, now I’m one of those eagles dropping pieces of fresh meat to other eagles on the ground who are going through their times of molting, bringing encouragements so they too can be renewed.

God touching his people

I remember another example of God's blessings flowing during a truck stop revival is a driver who had lost his family.

His wife was filing for a divorce and his in-laws had him arrested for molesting his children (a false accusation). He also had left his truck planning to take his life.

God gave me a similar verse for him that would change his life forever.

I was blessed to met him later and was told that he too had held onto the word from God that had been delivered to him. The false charges against him for molesting his children were dropped. While in the Judge's chambers, discussing the level of child support he needed to give, his wife fell back in love with him and the divorce was canceled.

The Living God showed up as the mighty counselor that Isaiah speaks about and this man’s home was also restored!

The coming move of God will be on 18 wheels and revealed to me in the early 90's by the Spirit of the Living God and it has already started.
