Miracles and Such
"You'll be happy to know that the universal law that created miracles hasn't been repealed." - Dr. Wayne Dyer
I found this quote from on Twitter and it has deep meaning for me. Because of my younger years and all the negative events in my life, anything positive and good and beneficial in my life is something I have always considered a miracle. I know that the definition of a miracle is: “an event that appears inexplicable by the laws of nature.” I actually found another definition which fits the events of my life even better: “something that excites admiring awe.” This definition is synonymous with the word “wonder.” I have felt this awe and wonder today, as two amazing events have happened to me! Dr. Wayne Dyer
They are simple things to those who haven’t been in my shoes. They are trivial to most. Yet, to me, they mean the world! I was offered TWO jobs today! One is a full-time teller position at a local bank! I am so excited about that because I used to be a teller, years ago and it was my most favorite job at that time! The second position is writing online as a ghostwriter and freelance writer for a lady that owns her own company and has a team of writers, of which I am now a member! I am so thrilled, honored and blessed!
For so many of us, there are days and months and periods of time in our lives when we are at the bottom of the barrel and we feel as nothing will ever go our way. I know that feeling very well. The one thing I have learned to keep telling myself is, “This, too, shall pass!” I have also learned to remember that absolutely nothing ever stays the same. The only “constant” is change. The sun will come out tomorrow. There is nothing we are ever put through that God hasn’t already passed His hands over. Nothing can destroy our spirit because spirit is not physical. It is energy and cannot be destroyed! There is nothing and no one in the world that can defeat us, except those people and situations that we allow to do so! These thoughts may all sound cliché’ but they are all totally true.
Sometimes, we wish that the whole world could walk in our shoes and then maybe they would see that we are stronger than we appear, to have lived through all we have endured. It’s a feeling of righteous indignation. I also understand that feeling very well. The awesome thing to realize is that it is most important that we, ourselves know that we have endured and overcome. People may be impressed if they know our past circumstances and that is all well and good. But our past doesn’t affect them directly, even though we can be an example to them. The truth is - we can only be an example to them in our present moment since most of those impressed people weren’t part of our past. We can walk what we talk and mean what we say and show people that we are positive, good, honorable, giving and loving today, in spite of what they have learned about our past. That fact is part of us discovering our purpose. Those characteristics are part of why we are meant to be here in the first place. They are our gift to the world. They are the result of us learning gratitude and why we discover we are truly blessed. That is my intention in writing this article today: to let you see that miracles/”wonder”-ful things truly can and do happen. For those that are as truly blessed as I, we are forever grateful!
