Mirror of Christ: Do you feel shattered?

Updated on September 12, 2015

Are you a mirror of Christ? Maybe you have cracks and have been dropped a few times. Maybe you have feel shattered and worthless. But even if you are the letter Christ calls you to wholeness. Christ calls you to a loving relationship with Him. This relationship through the Church will make you whole again. He is offering His graces to you.

Even if you feel like a broken mirror let set others see the splendour and beauty of Christ in the shards. You may have to gather those shards together, for then the beauty will be greater than individual shards scattered from your heart. When others see Christ reflected some will draw near to you. You have the answer for their lives. You have the answer for what they are searching for. They too want meaning, and the fullness of Christ in their lives. Once they experience and taste the joy and beauty of Christ they too will want to share and reflect it to others - for thus they have become a mirror of Christ.

Heal Yourself

For us Catholics and Orthodox the sacraments heal our broken mirror. There are no more shards but a beautiful shiny wholeness. Christ can be seen so clearly and for some they are afraid of the view, others ashamed and others drawn to it. Some will hurl rocks because of their fear or shame. Others will shine the mirror with encouragement. There are two great sacraments for keeping this mirror intact: Reconcilation and the Holy Eucharist. The former heal the mirror to its original glory after being broken. The latter heals scratches and even protects from some future scratches.

Let the glory of Christ shine from your mirror. You are the mirror of Christ. Who has been a mirror for you in your life? Maybe they have passed onto the glory of heaven. I have had many examples and of course the saints are wonderful examples such as St Maximilian Kolbe, St Francis Xaviour, St Padre Pio, St Teresa of Liseux, St Catherine of Sienna, St John, St Brendan and the future Saints - Blessed Mother Teresa and John Paul II. Please put in the comments those who have been a mirror for you.

God bless

Brendan Roberts

Hey Riggy Thanks for your comments. You were my first fan and that was so exciting having someone I don't know become my fan. I've had that in Bebo but they are mainly teenagers doing it for kicks. I've also had people want to add me in Myspace and yet the excitement doesn't end.

Yes I agree that the mirrors of Christ definitely were Pope John Paul II, Mother Teresa and Padre Pio! I also have a great respect for St. Maximilian Kolbe. Anyone want to learn a bit more about him either google him or join my myspace group

Your first hub was interesting. Pity its not available in NZ.

      God bless
