Leonardo Di Caprio
Leonardo Di Caprio
Leonardo Di Caprio—11/11/1974—is a Scorpio actor and director who was born and raised in Los Angeles, CA. He got his acting start in TV, in the soap Santa Barbara, and in the sitcom Growing Pains. Leo quickly moved onto interesting movie roles and was nominated as Best Supporting Actor, playing the mentally handicapped brother of Johnny Depp in What’s Eating Gilbert Grape, about a dysfunctional family in Iowa. He made all the quirks of Arnie accurate and is a quick study.
He played the romantic lead opposite Claire Danes in Romeo and Juliet, and tried a project with Robert De Niro in Marvin’s Room, about two sisters who reunited after a seventeen year estrangement, played by Meryl Streep and Diane Keaton. Everyone fell in love with his portrayal of Jack Dawson, the star crossed lover in The Titantic, who won two third class tickets on the ill fated cruise in a poker game. Di Caprio originally turned down the role, but James Cameron insisted he take it, because he had faith in Leonardo’s acting abilities. The movie catapulted him into stardom, and Leonardo had to stave off mania from the many young women who fell in love with his character after watching Jack Dawson’s romance with Rose De Witt (Kate Winslet). Once people wanted to reenact his proclamation of “I’m the King of the World” on regular cruise ships, they stopped allowing passengers to do that on vacation liners. He says he does not seek that much attention again, which is believable in a privacy loving Scorpio.
Di Caprio Takes on Roles With a Message
Leonardo has starred in a large variety of roles in the course of his career. He seems to enjoy historical roles and did a great job in Martin Scorsese’s Gangs of New York. The political thriller Blood Diamond fascinated this writer, who will not wear diamonds because so many people are killed while getting them into the marketplace. Leo played a diamond smuggler from Rhodesia, and was praised for his South Afrikaner accent, apparently a difficult one. Leonardo teamed up with Scorsese again for The Aviator, where he did a terrific job of playing the eccentric Howard Hughes. He reunited with Kate Winslet for Revolutionary Road.
Di Caprio Is a Dedicated Environmentalist
Leonardo was named after Da Vinci, as his Mom first felt him kick when she was admiring one of his paintings in a museum in Italy. He is a committed environmentalist (Scorpios are committed to anything they do) and flies on commercial flights rather than chartering private jets. He has an electric Tesla roadster, a Fisker Karma plug in hybrid, and drives a Toyota Prius. Solar panels have been installed on his house. In 2010 his environmental work won him a nomination for the VH1 Do Something Award. He appeared at the 2007 Oscar Ceremony with Al Gore, announcing that environmentally intelligent practices were used in the planning and carrying out of the ceremony. Leonardo has donated $35,000 for a computer center in the Los Angeles Public Library’s Los Feliz branch. He has also donated one million dollars to the Wildlife Conservation Society.
Leonardo Di Caprio's Love Life
DiCaprio’s romantic life has been widely discussed. He has been romantically linked with Kristen Zang, with whom he had an on and off relationship, British model Emma Miller, and Gisele Bundchen, a Brazilian model, who he saw on and off until around 2005. He seems to be attracted to models. He began seeing Bar Refaeli, who he met at a Las Vegas party thrown for U2, and visited Israel with her to see her home town there, also meeting the Israeli President. They stopped seeing each other for a while, and then the romance seemed rekindled for a bit in 2011.
Leonardo owns a home in Los Angeles and an apartment in the TriBeCa neighborhood in Lower Manhattan. He also bought a small island off the coast of Belize, and plans to erect an eco friendly resort there. DiCaprio also owns an eco-friendly apartment in Riverhouse, overlooking the Hudson River in Manhattan. He is currently living in what used to be Dinah Shore’s house and working with a mid century modern architect Donald Worler to bring it back into shape. Leonardo Di Caprio is definitely a very hard worker, as this writer did not list at least half of the movies he has been in.

She was a player on Hollywood Squares, and in 2007 Whoopi Goldberg replaced Rosie O’Donnell on the View.
Although she has a calmer public persona than O’Donnell, Whoopie did get involved in controversy when she had the view that dog fighting was not that unusual in the American South, and she disagreed often with ultra conservative Elisabeth Hasselbeck, who got the spot on The View after winning Survivor. She has been a human rights activist for many years, once moderating a panel at the Alliance for Youth Movements Summit, on how social networks can be used to fight violent extremism. Whoopi also moderated panels at the UN in 2008 and 2009, on human rights, children and armed conflict, terrorism, and reconciliation. Scorpio people are deep and strong willed, and troubled by the tough problems that lesser people try to ignore.

Neil Young/Neil Old
Neil Young, American and Canadian Treasure
Neil Percival Young-- 11/12/1945—is a well known Canadian singer and songwriter. He lives in CA and often writes and sings songs about American politics, so many do not realize that Young is Canadian, though he has dual citizenship with the U.S. He created the band Buffalo Springfield, along with Stephen Stills and Richie Furay, taking the name from a furniture company truck. Young often teamed up with Crosby, Stills and Nash to be CSNY, though he seems to like to be on his own, a Scorpio trait, and travel with various backup bands. Neil Young’s career has spanned over 40 years, and he is considered one of most influential musicians of his generation. He writes very personal lyrics, and has a distinctive voice, which has generously been described as “a signature alto” or “high tenor.” This writer loves his songs for the passion in them.
Neil Young Writes Very Personal Songs
Neil Young always has something interesting to say, whether about the Kent State students in OH who were shot down by the National Guard all those years ago, about his caretaker on the ranch he bought when he first got rich (he still lives there) or Harvest Moon, the love letter to his wife which staved off a divorce. Scorpio people love intensely, just as they do everything else. Neil Young excels at acoustic country rock numbers, and electric, amplified hard rock, normally with his band Crazy Horse, and is called “the Godfather of Grunge.” He does not apologize for trying out all kinds of music, as it’s difficult to sway a Scorpio from his course. Young is willing to try almost any genre. Besides guitar, he plays the piano and harmonica.
Neil and Pegi Young
Neil Young Is An Advocate for Farms and Disabled Children
He surprised people at the concert for 9/11 held in New York, “The Tribute to Heroes” when he sang John Lennon’s Imagine and played piano. Neil has been a long time advocate for environmental issues and farmers, and co-founded the Farm Aid Benefit Concert in 1985, along with Willie Nelson and friends, to help call attention to the plight of small farmers. Young still remains on the Board of Directors. Neil and Pegi Young have 3 grown children, Zeke, who Young had with Carrie Snodgrass, and Ben and Amber Jean with Pegi. Ben has cerebral palsy and Zeke has a stroke in utero when Pegi was pregnant with him, and attend The Bridge School, which the Youngs stay involved in by helping to develop technologies to aid children with disabilities.
Neil Young Greatest Hits
I have been a big Neil Young fan since I was about 15, and still think he is one of the most heartfelt artists to be found. His words and sincerity never fail to touch me.
The Youngs Yearly Concert for the Bridge School
They feel a sense of responsibility, because all of their children attend the school, their daughter Amber has epilepsy, as does Neil Young. The Young couple donates generously to the school and both Neil and Pegi do a series of benefit concerts there. They take place in Mountain View, CA, every year on a weekend in October, and they have a full lineup of talented people there to raise money for the school, such as Tom Petty, Bruce Springsteen, The Who, Trent Reznor, REM, Foo Fighters, Pearl Jam, Smashing Pumpkins and Dave Matthews. Pegi Young is a classically trained singer, who is concentrating on her career at this time.
Neil Young's Old Man, Written at Age 24
Neil Young Loves to Build Things
Neil Young bought the ranch the family lives on in a rural area in Northern CA, for $350,000, when he became “a rich hippie” in 1970, while still single. He named it The Broken Arrow Ranch, after a song released on his Decade album. He wrote the song “Old Man” to honor the caretaker of the ranch, Louis Avila. Since then he has gone on to buy thousands of acres around it. Neil has kept his Canadian citizenship, although he loves the U.S., he doesn’t want to relinquish his Canadian homeland, and received the honor of “Order of Manitoba,” in 2006, and was also made an “Officer of the Order of Canada” in 2009. There is simply not enough room to name all the bands he’s played with, all the solo works he accomplished, and the enormous catalogue of songs Neil Young has written. He likes to invent his own instruments and modify them, probably proficient in doing such things because of his need to raise three children with disabilities. Young is part owner of Lionel Trains, maker of model trains and accessories. He is continuing to develop the system and has several patents on model train parts. Scorpio minds are always going, and they love to repurpose old things too.
Neil Young's Waging Heavy Piece, An Autobiography
Rolling Stone has listed Neil Young as 17th in ranking the 100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time, and adds that Young is “a restless experimenter, who transforms the most obvious music into something revelatory.” Now he is working to find a way to get music on MP3 players to sound as good as it used to. His autobiography, Waging Heavy Peace, is motivated partly to explain why he feels the music business is threatened. Also, Young’s father suffered from Alzheimers disease, and he wanted to get his thoughts down on paper in his own words, in case the same happens to him. It’s an interesting read, it makes you feel like you are just sitting on the porch talking to him, he’s a natural as a writer, and if you are a Young fan, I highly recommend the book.
Julia Roberts, A Famous Scorpio Sun Sign
Julia Roberts—10/28/67—actually wanted to be veterinarian, but after appearing in a play with her brother Eric, decided she liked acting, even though she only spoke two words! Julia has gone on to make many movies, but probably is best known for Pretty Woman, where she plays a hooker in LA, and is hired to spend the week with a wealthy businessman played by Richard Gere. Both he and the audience fell in love with Julia then, and there was no turning back, though she took the part after many other actresses turned it down. Scorpios have strong gut feelings, and should always listen to them.
She has been in Mystic Pizza, Steel Magnolias, Erin Brockovich, My Best Friend’s Wedding, Notting Hill, Runaway Bride, The Pelican Brief, Ocean’s Eleven and Ocean’s Twelve. She won the Academy Award for Best Actress for Erin Brockovich, and received Golden Globe and Academy Award nominations for Steel Magnolias. People like to work with her because they say she is not afraid to take a role where she looks awful, and she is such a likable person. Erin Brockovich was a real person and a true story, about a woman who took on the powerful energy company Pacific Gas and Electric, and won.
Julia Roberts Film Credits
Julia Roberts is from Georgia, of parents who were both actors and playwrights. When her mother Betty was pregnant with Julia, she ran a children’s acting school in Decatur, GA, and the children of Martin Luther and Coretta Scott King attended it. Mrs. King paid the hospital bill from when Betty was in the hospital having Julia. After finishing High School, Julia headed straight for New York to take acting lessons, which obviously paid off. Scorpio people want to learn every detail possible when they are interested in a subject. She is a good sport and has appeared on Sesame Street opposite Elmo. Roberts has taken another TV role, on Law and Order with Benjamin Bratt, whom she later dated. In 2006 she did voice overs for two films, The Ant Bully and Charlotte’s Web. Julia also starred in the popular Eat, Pray, Love, based on the novel by Elizabeth Gilbert, though readers of the book thought her character was not “serious” enough. This writer believes the book is always better than the movie, but enjoyed the part in India the best.
Julia Robert's Love Life
Julia Roberts was engaged to Kiefer Sutherland, but they cancelled the wedding three days before it was supposed to happen. She was married to country singer Lyle Lovett for two years before they divorced. She met her current husband while filming The Mexican with her friend Brad Pitt. Danny Moder was the cameraman. She visited Haiti in 1995 and tried valiantly to raise ten million dollars to help the people. Roberts is an environmentalist who serves as a spokeswoman for Earth Biofuels, and chairs the new advisory board to promote the use of renewable fuels.
